Man 1: Should we notify Rykov?
Commander: Sure, if you want to lose your bonus and get transferred to perimeter duty.
Man 1: What if we need the firepower support, sir?
Commander: Let's not overreact. I figure we're probably dealing with a single contagion. This isn't the first time one of those bastards has got out of its cage.
Man 1: If the Primary Operations Complex goes down, the Pods will be isolated. We're their communications link.
Commander: Son, the POC isn't being overrun. Besides, Rykov can't reach us for three hours, at least.

Throughout the early morning, all evidence points to an atypically violent, but contained Alien contamination. After eight o'clock however, new security reports appear that refer to a second set of confrontations. Oddly, these reports contain no direct mention of the Xenomorph involvement. However, one must assume these were Xenomorph incidents as well, and not the work of some other hostile species.

* Return to the Hive.


When you start the level, run forward quickly and kill the Marine that's setting up the sentry gun. Then destroy the sentry gun as well. Two more Marine will come at you from the left, so kill them too. Facing in this direction, there is a grate above the doorway. Crawl up to it and claw it away to enter a vent. Go through the vent into a room, then go through the second vent to another room where you can hear humans talking below you.

Radio: It's in the air vents. Coming your way.
Man 1: What should we do?
Radio: Shoot it.
Man 1: Yes, sir.
Radio: Set up some turrets in the crawlspaces. We need to keep it contained in the corridors.
Man 1: No problem, sir.


Fans block your passage into the room below you, so you need to disable them. Claw at the wires of the boxes that lead to the fans to shut them off, then drop down once the fan blades stop spinning. There are three Marines and a technician to kill here. Continue along to the room with three sentry guns, two point away from you and one points towards you (but it's far enough away not to shoot at you yet). Destroy the two sentry guns near you, then stay along the wall to the left to walk behind the third sentry gun without being shot at, and destroy it. There are two more Marines up the sloping path to the left.

Straight across from where the last sentry gun was is a grate in the floor illuminated by a red light. Claw the grate away and drop down into the vent. You'll need to use your night vision as it's dark. Continue through the vent and it will lead you to a room. Crawl straight up, towards the spinning fan, and enter the vent near the top. Claw the grate to exit this vent at the end.

Man 1: What the hell was that?
Man 2: I've got movement!
Man 1: Keep your eyes open! It's close!


You don't have to fight the Marines in this room, but you can if you want to. it's safer for you to just avoid them. You can do this by dropping down straight into the channel of water in this room.

Man 1: Where is it?
Man 2: Must be in the ceiling!
Man 1: It's heading for the substation!


Move through the main channel of water and look to the right. One of the channels will lead to a vent covered by a grate.

Radio: Hearst! What's going on?
Hearst: We lost it. It must be heading your way.


Claw away the grate and enter the vent. Go through this vent and it will eventually lead to another grate. Claw it away to enter the next room.

Man 1: Sector 4 secure!
Radio: Hold there. A containment team is on its way.


Kill the humans here. Go straight past the stationary fan blades and enter the small tunnel on your right. When you exit this tunnel, claw the boxes on the wall behind you to disable the nearby sentry gun. Then crawl up the small hole to the left and claw away the panel to enter the room above you. Kill the Marines here and go up the ladder, into the room in the ceiling. There is a technician here and an inactive sentry gun. In this room there is a vent. Go through it, then through a vent in the next room to complete the first part of this level.

The Flamethrower provides excellent firepower in all situations - against the Xenomorph, this is amplified by the natural shield it places between the security officer and the offending creature. However, officers should not overestimate their protection. If you cannot find your enemy, you cannot fight him.

* Return to the Hive.


Radio: Come on people. We've got a single bug here. We need to get this thing contained.
Man 1: Yes, sir. I've locked down the shaft door. There's no way it's getting through here.


Claw away the grate and drop down. Kill the single Marine in here. You can crawl down the large elevator shaft here but it's much easier if you just drop down. Kill the Marines at the bottom of the shaft, go through the hall and to the right. Kill the Marines here and you will hear a voice from the room further down the hall.

Davis: Where is it?
Radio: Should be headed your way.
Davis: What?!?
Radio: Make sure it doesn't get by you!
Davis: If you guys haven't been able to stop it so far, what are you expecting ME to do?
Radio: Just deal with it. We've got bigger problems. Davis, look out! What the hell?


Run forward and kill Davis as well as the female technician in this room. Then claw the glass to break it and drop down into the next room. A door will open and two Marines will come out. Kill them and go through the opened door.

Man 1: Seal the gate!
Man 1: Keep it out of the pipes!


As you go forward, you'll get a new objective.

* Defeat the Predator.

Drop down to face the Predator. He's not too armored, so it's not too difficult. Get close enough to him so that he takes out his combistaff, then run forward and claw him or hit him with your tail, and pull back when he tries to attack you. Keep this up and he'll die quickly. When you beat him, he starts to laugh. You need to RUN AWAY! Climb up as high as you can and hide near one of the doors near the small walkways. You will be safe there. The Predator self-destructs, completely destroying this room and blowing a huge hole in the floor. Drop down to the new crater in the ground and drop into it. Enter the open vent at the bottom, head left inside the vent, and drop down into a new room. Climb up to where the pipes are going and follow them down the tunnel. After the cut scene, you will have completed this level.

Man 1: It's in the pipes. It's going to get out.
Commander: Notify Rykov.
Man 1: You said he couldn't get here in time.
Commander: He can't. Sound the general alarm and send any available security teams down there on the double. We can at least buy some time for the civilian personnel to make it to the shelters.
Man 1: Activate the distress beacon and notify Gateway. Maybe the Pods can hold out until help arrives.

Tomiko: I'm routing the security feeds through to the monitor banks now.
Eisenberg: Cut the transmission.
Eisenberg: I said cut the transmission. I will not let them gloat. I won't give them the satisfaction.
