Once they pulled out of the drive, things came to a screeching halt. Well, for Christina and Taylor, anyway.

She looked over at him and smiled, and he smiled back. They both looked up in the front, where Michelle and David were happily chatting away, not even noticing them. David had turned the radio on the college's station, and they were listening to that, so it wasn't completely silent, but Christina was nervous and soon began to fidget.

She started playing with her hair, biting her nails, and just couldn't sit still. She looked out the window, and saw that it was nearly dark. They were driving on the outskirts of town, and from there you could see the sun setting to the left of them.

He saw her looking at it, and seeing a good conversation starter, he brought it up.

"It sure is beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Where I'm from, you couldn't exactly see the sunsets very well." She replied.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, I've lived in the city near Michelle all my life, and I've never really seen a full sunset."

"Wow. See, I've always lived in the suburbs, and you can always see them from there."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it's weird, because on one side of our house, it's just an open field, where you can see for miles and miles, it's just amazing. And then on the other side, you've got a whole neighborhood."

"That sounds cool."

"Yeah, it was really nice growing up there." He said.

Silence.

He looked at her, and they both laughed softly, the silence blaring between them. Taylor smiled again, then leaned up to talk to David.

"Are we almost there?"

"Yeah, only about five more minutes."

"Okay."

"Am I that boring?" She asked, smiling at him.

"No, I was just wondering, because it seems like we've been driving forever."

Her smile faded.

"No, no, that's not what I meant either!"

"Oh, um, okay."

"It's just that…well…you see, when I get nervous I…oh, never mind."

"Alright." She said, folding her hands in her lap and re adjusting her skirt.

Christina looked out the window for a few minutes, then looked at him. He was nervously twitching his leg and couldn't keep his hands still.

He looked over at her, and gave a crooked smile. She made an effort to smile back, but it was a little difficult.

How could he be so smooth one day and so…so…weird the next? She wondered. He seemed nervous and jumpy, even though nothing terrible had happened yet. He smelled nice too. Christina didn't know what he was wearing, but it smelled wonderful on him, and it was very bearable for the car ride.

Finally, David pulled into the entrance of the new drive in. They paid, and then David maneuvered the jeep into a parking place where they could see the movie.

"Hey Chris?" Michelle asked, turning around.

"Yeah?" She said, looking up from her lap.

"Um, come with me to go buy the snacks, will you?"

"Uh, okay." She said.

She started to get out her side, but stopped when Taylor spoke.

"Um, that door doesn't work. David spilled coke in the lock, so it's stuck." He said, giving her a crooked smile.

"Oh, ok." She said, and cringed while she climbed over Taylor and had to stick her butt in his face for a microsecond in order to get out. She silently cringed, and then jumped out.

"Here's some money." David said, offering her a twenty.

"Oh, that's okay, we can go Dutch." Michelle said, pushing his hand away.

"No, no, we asked you out on a date, so we can pay. It's fine"

"Well, if you insist…" Michelle said, taking the money.

Christina jumped out, and closed the door behind Michelle.

She waited until they were far enough away to start speaking.

"This is a disaster, I don't know why I even came!" She said, almost tripping on her skirt.

"Why? Everything is going great!" Michelle said, pulling out some more lipstick.

"For you!"

"Oh."

"God, I'm in hell back there trying to think of things to say!"

"Well, try giving him complements. Guys love it when you do that." Michelle said, putting her lipstick on.

"Yeah, but I can't compliment him for the rest of the night, he'll think I'm crazy!" Christina said, now panicked.

"You are." She said with a giggle.

"Michelle! Come on! Be serious." Christina shrieked. She was really in a rut.

"Okay, okay."

"Just help me. I have no clue what to do!"

"Okay, okay." Michelle simply repeated.

She sighed.

"Okay, give him compliments, ask him about himself, but at the same time, talk about yourself, but not too much…oh, let's see, give him flirty glances, play with your hair, um, just in general, make him feel comfortable around you, but then again, he can't get so comfortable that he starts taking advantage of you…" Michelle trailed off.

They were finally at the concession area, and they looked at what their choices were. A few minutes passed, and they were still looking, when they heard music coming from the main screen.

"Oh, we had better hurry up. Um, we'll take four Pepsis ®, two bags of popcorn, and a giant bag of M&Ms." She said.

Meanwhile, back in the jeep….

"Man, you've gotta help me!"

"With what?"

"Christina!"

"You hate her that much already?" David asked, turning around fully.

"No! It's just that, I don't know how to make conversation with her!"

"Why not?" David asked.

"Because I'm afraid that I'll screw it up and she'll think I'm a total looser!"

"First of all, calm down. You just went to the bathroom, so why are you so fidgety?"

"I'm just nervous, that's all."

"Well, ask her about herself. Hold her hand. Touch her more than necessary. Make her feel comfortable. Give her complements. They love that."

"Okay, ask her about herself, complements, what else?"

"That's about all there is to girls, my man. Now here they come, just play it smooth."

The girls handed them their purchases, then Michelle and David got settled easily, while Christina had to climb over Taylor in order to get back in her seat. She nearly spilled her drink on his lap, and she stepped on his foot, but other than that, she got back fine.

"Alright, you know me, I'm a Pepsi guy!" Taylor said, smiling at Christina.

"Well, I figured that everyone liked Pepsi, so I couldn't go wrong." She said, smiling in relief.

"Great."

They settled back to watch the movie, and Taylor put the popcorn on his right thigh, right next to Christina so she could reach it, but also so that he could still sit as close to her.

Taylor remembered what David had said; touch her more than necessary.

Well, touch her he tried. When he tried to reach for popcorn at the same time so they could casually brush hands, she snaked her hand in and out too fast for him to get it.

He sighed, and tried to watch the movie. It was during a suspenseful part, and he caught her hand in the bucket for more than a millisecond. She froze as she watched the killer sneak up on the girl. Taylor, or course, was completely oblivious to this, and casually rubbed his fingers against hers for a second while they both were in the bucket, and was about to do more, when she let out a horrified scream.

"What, what, I was just touching your hand! I'm not a snake, I swear!" He yelped, moving away from her.

She looked at him in confusion.

"What?"

"Your hand, your hand, I was just touching it! I didn't mean anything by it! Really! Well, I sort of did, but, I mean-"

"What are you talking about? It's part of the movie". Michelle said, looking at him.

"What are you talking about? Taylor asked her.

"She screamed, man. It was a scary part." David said.

"Yeah, it just surprised me. Sorry if I scared you." She said with a smile, and sat back.

"Oh. Hehe, I feel like such an idiot." He said, and buried his face in his hands.

"Oh, don't. Please. I'm no one to feel embarrassed in front of." She said, patting him on the shoulder.

He looked up, and smiled.

"I guess not." Taylor said.

"So you wanted to touch my hand, huh?" Christina said with a laugh.

"No, no, I mean, yeah, but- aw, I'm just going to shut up before I get myself into more trouble." He said, and sat back to watch the movie.

Twenty minutes later, he was still fidgeting. They had long since finished both their drinks, and the popcorn. She was fidgeting with her straw, and he was getting more nervous watching her fidget with it.

He took a deep breath, and decided to be bold. He reached over and took her hand. She jolted up, and looked at him. She looked at him in awe for a second, then she smiled.

An hour later, they were still holding hands, and stealing flirty glances. That was, until Michelle announced that she had to go to the bathroom, and Christina was to be her escort. They both let out a sigh, and Christina slowly climbed out of the car.

The two got out, and headed to the restrooms.

"Sooo…How is it going?" She asked, barely able to contain her excitement when they were finally in the bathroom.

"It was going great until you interrupted!" Christina growled.

"Oh." Michelle suddenly felt very stupid. "Well, it's a long movie, we've got at least another hour and a half left." She added hopefully.

"Yeah…" Christina said. They were in the bathroom, and Christina couldn't help but look in the mirror and turn to the side. Michelle came out of the bathroom.

"So it's been doing ya good?" She said, washing her hands.

"Uh huh." Christina said, still admiring herself.

"Great. Now, if you're done staring at your own boobs, can we go?" She asked, standing in the doorway.

"Oh, yeah."

Michelle just laughed.

"Thank you, again. Not just for the bra, but for the advice." She said.

"No prob." Michelle said.

Meanwhile…

"Man, this is going so much better."

"Did she make out with you? I didn't want to look back there. That would be too obvious." David replied, smiling at him.

"No, man, she was holding hands with me."

"Aw, I thought you were doing somethin good!" He said.

"Well, I don't really know how to do somethin good!" Taylor said.

"Oh, yeah. Well, that does possess a problem."

"Yeah." Taylor said flatly.

"Well, just watch what I do with Michelle." David said.

"Okay."

"Well, just make sure it's a couple of minutes after I do it, so she doesn't catch on." David added.

"Right." Taylor replied.

Soon, the girls got back, and they were settled in again.

About ten minutes passed, and soon Taylor noticed that David put his arm around Michelle casually, and neither of them stirred a lot, so Taylor waited a few moments, and casually did the same thing. Christina jumped a little, and he cringed.

"Sorry." He said quietly, and returned his arm to himself.

"No, that's okay. I mean, you can do that if you want." She whispered.

"Oh, um, okay." He said, and put his arm back around her. Was it just his imagination, or did she just scoot a little closer? He smiled to himself for his progress, then focused his attention back to David.

Meanwhile, Christina was rejoicing, but she still couldn't figure out why he was in such a rush to get there. She shook the idea, and remembered something she had to bring up to Michelle later on.

Around ten minutes later, Taylor saw David look at Michelle until she looked at him, and then they softly kissed…and then again…and again…and again…and then they remembered they were being watched, and pulled apart. They merely slumped down in the seat, and tangled their arms around each other again, and continued.

Taylor and Christina just sat in the back and blushed to death, so that they looked like two beets, both red and flushed.

"Um, this can't get any more awkward." Taylor finally said with a laugh.

"Yeah, I know. I mean, it's not like we don't know what they're doing." She said with a quiet laugh.

"I know." He looked at her, and noticed that their faces were just a few inches apart. She looked at him too, and looked straight at his lips, and he knew she wanted him to, but he couldn't. He didn't want to move too fast for her. Okay, and for him too.

He quickly turned away, and let out the breath he had been holding.

Why had he chickened out? She wondered. He wanted to kiss me last night…well, maybe she had bad breath. Well, she couldn't do anything about that now.

She really wanted to be kissed. They had been so close. Was he stalling? She decided that he was being genuine, and tried to get her message across as boldly as she could. She waited until the killer was about to kill the lead girl, and at the same time, she scooted down a little and as close as she could be to him. He just tightened his arm around her and leaned a little closer also, his eyes still glued to the screen.

This wasn't what she wanted, but it would have to do. She silently fumed in her head. She was desperate. When was he going to get the message?

Taylor mentally kicked himself. She knew what she wanted, and he knew what he wanted, and vice versa, so why couldn't he do it? Michelle had told David who had told Taylor that she would not make the first move if it killed her. Well, he thought, that narrows it down to one person.

He surveyed the area. They were at a drive in, which was classic, even he had to admit. So far, he didn't even know what movie was on. They were in a dark jeep, it was nearly ten, and the cars around them were dark, but even the jeep's windows were tinted, so it didn't make much of a difference. Their only chaperones were currently down each other's throats, and the movie still had at least forty -five minutes to go. What did he have to loose?

He decided to wait until she looked at him first. He almost jumped when she practically read his thoughts and looked straight at him. Well…he thought… here goes nothing. He turned to look at her, when she suddenly leaned up and kissed him full on the lips. He instantly responded, and they pulled apart breathless and flushed.

"Wow." He said.

"Yeah." She said, and smiled at him boldly.

He leaned forward again, wanting to kiss her again more than anything. They met again in a warm, but slightly awkward kiss, for they were both still sitting straightforward. He seemed to sense this problem, and quickly turned to face her. He put his free hand on her cheek, and she put one of her hands on his chest, and laid the other one on his neck, gently touching his hair.

They broke apart, smiled at each other, then sat back to watch the movie, this time as close they could get. Taylor smiled to himself. That hadn't been bad at all. In fact, it had been great. Around half an hour passed, and he still had his arm tightly around her, and she even rested her head on his shoulder.

He looked over at her, and she looked up at him at the same instant. He leaned down to kiss her this time, and she softly kissed him back.

Their kiss seemed to be lasting forever when they suddenly heard quiet laughter from the front seat.

They broke apart, and he jumped up, banging his head on the ceiling. They scrambled to get back onto the seat, and when they did, they looked into the laughing faces of David and Michelle.

"Um, son, I hate to say it, but the movie was over a few minutes ago, and you two just kept right on goin!" David said, smacking him on the back.

They both looked at each other and laughed.

"Um, we're off to the café, so just hang in there, you two can have a room when we get home." David said, pulling the jeep out of the lot.

They just smiled at each other.

"So, why exactly were you so impatient to get to the drive in? I mean, I know I can't make that great of conversation, but…." Christina trailed off.

"Um, are you sure you want to know?"

"Positive."

"Well, uh, this is kinda embarrassing…"

"Go ahead. Can't be any worse than the popcorn thing."

"Well, you see, when I get nervous, I get really thirsty, and uh, god this is really hard…and uh, anyway, I drank a lot of water, because before we came I was so nervous, and I had to go to the bathroom really bad."

Christina tried as hard as she could not to burst into a fit of giggles. The tremors racked her body, and soon she burst out laughing.

"What?" He asked, looking embarrassed.

"Taylor, that's not that embarrassing. So you had to go to the bathroom. That's not that bad." She said.

"Oh…okay." He said.

The two were walking behind Michelle and David along the lit up block of the Campus Square. The Campus Square was a square of buildings and shops, like thrift stores, bookstores, café's, and various other stores. They had decided to go to the ice cream parlor for a late night snack. The great thing about the Campus Square was that it was always bouncing with lights, music, and people until at least three in the morning.

Taylor casually put his arm around her shoulders, since she was too short for him so wrap it around her waist, so he settled for the next best thing. She wrapped her arm around his waist, and they walked side by side thought the crowded street.

Christina was beaming. She was a little timid to make the moves, but since she had made the first one, he seemed to be okay with making the rest. It felt good to finally walk among the groping couples around the Campus Square. So many times she had felt left out, but now, as she snuggled against Taylor, she didn't feel an empty void anymore. And if felt very nice.
