Black
Hollywood turns out for Kingdom
Come premiere - April 12
Fox
Searchlight Pictures' PG-rated urban appeal
comedy drama "Kingdom Come" premiered
to a gathering of the top bigwigs in black
Hollywood on Wednesday, April 11th.
Among
the those in attendance were Will Smith, Nia
Long, Denzil Washington, Kirk Franklin and Magic
Johnson along with the members of the cast.
Directed by Doug McHenry, "Kingdom Come"
stars LL Cool J, Jada Pinkett Smith, Vivica A.
Fox, Loretta Devine, Anthony Anderson, Toni
Braxton, Cedric the Entertainer, Darius McCrary
and Whoopi Goldberg. The movie is expected to
make a profit on its $7 million production cost.
Always in search of new directions to take his life and creative energy, LL turns up as a morose, reformed alcoholic in
the rural family drama. For the role, the typically outspoken artist became surprisingly introspective.
