Physical Description: Kellyn is a tall 5'10" and very obviously female. She weighs approximately 125 pound with curves in all the right places. Kel isn't vain but she has very soft and attractive features, her heart shaped face is surrounded by shoulder-length curly chocolate brown hair that she usually pulls back into a ponytail or some other way so it's out of her face. She has an olive complexion that she got from her mother. She has rich dark brown eyes that are graced with long eyelashes. Kellyn is in everyway feminine but she doesn't act like the female she looks like. Her features are soft and her nose is slender giving her face a very gentle appearance and her smile tends to be somewhat contagious.


Personality: Though Kellyn has the appearance of a very feminine soft creature she is far from it. She tends to behave as more of a tomboy than anything and in every way takes after her father and his adventurous spirit. She seems to be perpetually looking for another adventure or something to peak her interest. She finds daily life somewhat boring and is always in search of things to do that she hasn't tried before. Kel spends most of her time running errands and other things for her father. Kel has no fear of meeting new people and she doesn't mind breaking a tense situation with a bit of laughter. She's easy to talk to and likes to try and help others in trouble. Most of her people skills she learned from her father, which comes in very handy as she's a harper herself.


History: Kellyn is the pride and joy of her father Kelroc, because in everyway she takes after her father. Kel is the oldest daughter of Kelroc and Lynia, Kelroc being the Master Harper at Southern Hold. Ever since she was able to talk, Kellyn has enjoyed every moment she could spend with her father and would start humming along with him even as a toddler. It was obvious to her parents that the young Kellyn had quite the talent for music so as soon as she was able Kelroc started teaching his daughter all that he could about being a harper..singing, instrumentation, composing, everything. Kel seemed to have an affinity for music and as she grew it became quite obvious to all that she was very talented as well. It ended up being all to the good that Kel spent so much time with her father as her mother was constantly busy trying to help the northern healers figure out what was behind the mysterious plague that was decimating the northern continent. Lynia had very little time to spend with her daughters but she did manage to teach them how to take care of minor cuts and wounds.

As Kellyn grew she began running more and more errands for her father, she also started teaching some of the youngsters their Ballads and helping out her father wherever she could. Unlike many people in the north, her family had complete faith in the dragonriders, and kel made it a personal goal to make sure that the southerners didn't change their opinion either. Whenever a dragon could be seen flying over head Kel would always pause what she was doing and just watch making notes in her head about the beauty and grace of the dragons. She began jotting down some little melodies and some poems trying to put her thoughts into words. And many of her tunes had a very pleasant beat and melody to them. Kellyn was her father's right hand pupil and took over some of his responsibilities when he became busy with some of the goings on in the Hold and Weyr.

Everyone in Southern's life was changed though when the Earthshake struck. The chaos and destruction was severe and widespread and there wasn't a family that didn't seem to be touched in some way, including her own. Kellyn's little sister Xaria had been killed when her room in the family's cot had collapsed on top of her. With her parents so busy trying to tend to the sick and wounded, kellyn took her other sister under her wing and dealt with taking care of her youngest sister's body herself. She helped where she could, even if it came to lifting rubble, and she also tried to keep the survivors spirits up by singing and giving them words of encouragement as they went. The news of the decimation of the dragonriders numbers hit the young harper hard not only for the loss of the riders but especially for the loss of the needed dragons as well, for like every Harper, she knew that Thread would return someday and the dragons would be needed.

As everyone relocated, Kel and her father were spread thin keeping news flowing between those who had relocated and those who hadn't and keeping news flowing between Weyr and Hold and between the north and south. When news came down that green Truth was going to lay a clutch Kel and her father had been ecstatic for it meant that there would be more dragons, which was of great importance to everyone. And despite Kel's seeming ability to know all the gossip and know what was going on she was greatly surprised to be approached by a rider at the new Weyr one day as she was delivering bits of news to Perone and S'tar. The rider had suggested that she would make a fine candidate for a dragon and that some music would be a welcome sight in the weyr. kellyn couldn't believe her good fortune, but she wasn't certain if she could do it, she'd be happy to live in the weyr, besides it would be easy for her to correspond with her father back and forth, so Kellyn accepted the offer though she wasn't positive if she should be a candidate or not.
