I believe that understanding human anatomy and working on spiritual growth are very important to using Reiki. Reiki should be used as an accompaniment to regular medical treatment NOT as a replacement to it. Using Reiki along with modern medicine can help speed up healing and can ease pain associated with ailments. Reiki is also useful along with other holistic modalities. I use it along with my Shaman practice as well as Herbal Medicine.

The difference between Attunements and regular treatments is that Attunements raise your energy frequency. The work at the higher frequencies is stronger.
