Background and Credentials

 Elyssa Korman Williams has been practicing law since 1992.  Prior to starting her own practice she has been deeply involved in the practice of criminal law both as a public defender in New York City and Atlanta, Georgia, as well spending several years as a prosecutor in Orlando, Florida.   As a prosecutor, she was promoted numerous times within the office through the DUI division, juvenile division, and felony division.  As a felony prosecutor, she was responsible for prosecuting numerous high-profile cases and became the senior prosecuting attorney in her division, maintaining a winning trial record.

 Her inside knowledge of criminal prosecution has been invaluable for analyzing possible strategies to defend clients charged with a criminal offense.

 Elyssa Korman Williams received her bachelor’s degree in Finance with Honors from the University of Florida in 1989 and was graduated from the esteemed University of Florida College of Law in 1992.  As a member of the Trial Team, she was chosen to represent the University of Florida in mock trial competitions statewide.  She won her first actual criminal jury trial (a drug possession case) in 1992, while still interning with the public defender’s office in Gainesville, Florida.  She is respected by judges, law enforcement officials, and other lawyers and has an excellent track record with the clients she represents.

 Elyssa Korman Williams maintains her licenses to practice in the states of Georgia, New York, and Florida.  She is an active member of the North Fulton Bar, Sandy Springs Bar, Georgia Association for Criminal Defense Attorneys (GACDL), and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL), where she serves on the Special Events Committee.
