Eta Lambda History
In the fall of 1985, a group
of freshmen women decided to form a new chapter of a nationally affiliated
sorority. In the fall of 1986, these now sophmore women narrowed down
their choices for national affiliation.
Before inductions came, however,
the colleges adminstration informed is that due to the small percentage
of Greek girls, we had to merge with an already existing local sorority;
Pi Alpha Tau. The prospective Alpha Delta Pi's merged with Pi Alpha Tau
on November 12, 1986, and were inducted as pladges of Alpha Delta Pi,
Eta Lambda chapter on December 9, 1982 by Kristen Dolan, our T.C.S.
On February 5, 1987 we were inducted
as pledges and the offical pledge period began for the colony of fifty-one
women .
THe highlight og the year was
our initiation and induction banquet on May 9, 1987. Tracee Block, our
founding president, accepted the gave from Mrs. Beth Gentry Manle, Grand
Council Vice President, and we were finally an offical chapter of Alpha
Delta Pi.
