2001 Caribbean Cruise, page 2

More of my favorite pages from our
Caribbean cruise in January 2001. Enjoy!

Because of the number of photos on this page, it may take
awhile to load. I hope you'll find it worth the wait!

Jen was amazed at how many pools there are on the Grand Princess.
When she didn't have anything else planned to do, she spent her time at one of the pools!

On one of the days "at sea," they held an ice carving demonstration. These men did not use
chain saws, just chisels, hammers and assorted other tools. The kids were amazed at
how quickly they turned a block of ice into a hummingbird.... or a mermaid!

There was an excellent kids' program on the ship, with activities ranging from movies and
popcorn to their own private dinner to face painting and more. Jen got her own
daily newsletter with all the kids' activities listed, and she loved it!

Our first formal portrait was rather dark, so we chose to have another taken
with a brighter background. The photos on the right-hand page were taken in the dining room.

On our last day "at sea," the ship was moving faster than it had previously, and the ocean
was a bit rougher than it had been, so we could feel the ship's motion for the first time.
Jen took these incredible photos of the pool water splashing around!

Princess Cays, the line's private beach, has hammocks scattered around the island.
Neither of the kids had ever been in one, so they decided to share.
They were doing fine ... until Jen decided to roll over and almost dumped J.J. in the sand!

As always, the beach was gorgeous! The weather was beautiful,
the water was warm... What a way to end a cruise!

I loved this photo of Jen, so I enlarged it and made it a focal point.

Jen wanted to get "island braids" in her hair to prove to the kids at school that she'd been
"in the islands". But when push came to shove, she opted for just two braids -- one on each side
of her face. Just doing those two braids took the woman 30 minutes, because Jen's hair is so long!

The sunset was gorgeous on our very last night of the cruise.
