Some of my favorite pages from our
Caribbean cruise in January 2001. Enjoy!
Because of the number of photos on this page, it may take
awhile to load. I hope you'll find it worth the wait!
A very simple introduction to the album.
Our first family portrait in several years -- notice the "Titanic" backdrop!
The kids enjoyed "dressing for dinner" and had a great time on the cruise.
It was an overcast day in St. Thomas, but the scenery was still awesome!
Since Jim and I had both been to St. Thomas before, we took a general tour of the island so the kids
could see everything. They loved the tour guide, and wanted to stay on the island forever!
On St. Maarten, we took a tour that included a ride on a semi-submersible boat;
these photos were taken on the way out to the reef where the submersible was waiting.
Jen got to sit up front with the tour guide, since she was the smallest in the group,
and she took most of the photos. Very nice job, Jen!
After our underwater tour, we got a tour of the island--
the Dutch side and the French side, of course!
Of course, our tour included the obligatory stop for shopping
at this open-air market! Jen got her first lesson in haggling here!
While Jen and Jim shopped, J.J. and I wandered around downtown Marigot.
He was fascinated by all the shades of blue in the water and how clear it is.
Usually, it's Jim's mission on a cruise to take a "good" sunset photo.
This time J.J. took over the task, and this was his best shot. Well done, J.J.! We bought the photo of the ship from the ship's photographer!
