Episode 6 Synopsis
Blue Dragon

The episode begins part-way into the rooftop battle from the previous episode. After tossing Kuuga off the roof, Xu Bazuu Ba jumps down and continues his assault. Ichijou and Sugita arrive on the scene, immediately noticing that Kuuga is blue. Ichijou tries to get a shot off, but Xu Bazuu Ba uses Kuuga as a shield. A mild breeze blows across the scene, carrying with it smoke from nearby smokestack. This concerns Xu Bazuu Ba enough that he ceases his attack and takes off to the rooftop and escapes.
Opening Credits
Sakurako receives a call from Ichijou, and he tells her about Kuuga turning blue. Sakurako is somewhat distressed, worrying about what's happening to Yuusuke. Ichijou asks her to come to the hospital.
She arrives just as Yuusuke is leaving. She asks if he's alright, and he says yes and apologizes for causing her concern and her having to come to the hospital, then leaves on his bike. Ichijou and Tsubaki arrive to talk to Sakurako, and Ichijou sees Yuusuke outside on the bike. Ichijou calls him a dope (baka na aitsu). Tsubaki says that the battle and the fall from the rooftop should have killed Yuusuke.
Yuusuke, having pulled his bike over by the roadside, grabs his ribs in pain, but then drives away.
Ichijou apologizes to Sakurako for worrying her, and tells her that Yuusuke refuses to stop fighting. Sakurako leaves, declining Ichijou's offer to accompany her.
Ichijou returns to the scene of the previous battle, and notices the smoke, making the connection between it and Zu BazuuBa's exit.
At the aquarium, Xu Bazuu Ba arrives and reports on the success of his fight against Kuuga.
Sakurako, ever pensive, walks by Yuusuke's place, obviously concerned.
Oya-san, on the phone with Ichijou, tells him that he can't wake Yuusuke up, and that he's never seen him so exhausted. He's tried everything to wake him up, but nothing has worked.
Ichijou says just to let him rest. He immediately receives a call from Tsubaki, who says there's something Ichijou needs to see.
Break
Sakurako goes to the Wakaba School to visit Minori, who reassures her that Yuusuke is just being Yuusuke. One of the kids comes in and asks Minori when she's coming back to the class. Minori says she'll be right there, and Sakurako, feeling relieved, excuses herself. She gives Minori the thumbs-up, which Minori returns.
Ichijou conducts a briefing on Xu Bazuu Ba's activities, and points out its apparent aversion to smoke. After the chief dismisses the meeting, he calls Ichijou over, wishing him luck.
Yuusuke is at the restaurant, puzzling over why Kuuga turned blue. Oya-san tries to help, but his unfamiliarity with the situation precludes success.
Sakurako is at the office, still working on the symbols.
Ichijou is shown driving his car around, apparently waiting for news of any Gurongi activity.
Yuusuke is sweeping up in front of the restaurant when a call comes across the radio about renewed Xu Bazuu Ba activity. Yuusuke hops on the bike, apologizing to Oya-san for cutting out before the cleaning is finished.
Sakurako finally succeeds in translating a sequence of symbols, and makes a discovery regarding the Kuuga's Dragon form. She tries to call Ichijou, but no answer. While the phone is ringing, a news report on the radio says that the unidentified lifeform is active again.
Xu Bazuu Ba is beating up on some more cops. Ichijou is on the scene, and is about to shoot when his phone rings, alerting Xu Bazuu Ba to his presence (that's twice the phone has been a liability for Ichijou…I think Toei or Ishinomori have an issue with cell phones). Xu Bazuu Ba proceeds to beat up on Ichijou, putting him through a car window, tossing him on the ground, and then rolling a car over on top of him. All the while the phone keeps ringing…
Sakurako, hearing a report on the location of the lifeform, rushes out of the office. On the computer screen is a translation of the characters she was working on earlier. She runs outside and jumps on her bike.
More cops are being tossed around. Yuusuke arrives and tries to ram Xu Bazuu Ba, but is stopped in his tracks. Yuusuke gets tossed around a bit, then transforms, this time directly to Dragon form, which still puzzles him. A fierce battle ensues. Yuusuke wonders what he should do.
Sakurako sees a roadblock on her way to the battle scene, and apologetically runs through it.
Meanwhile, Kuuga is getting a butt-kicking. Sakurako arrives and calls to Kuuga, telling him to use the power of water to create a weapon from any long narrow object. Kuuga understands, and kicks a length of metal railing loose, and calling on his power, transforms the pipe into a weapon, the Dragon Rod, and resumes the fight. Now Kuuga starts whooping up on Xu Bazuu Ba. Ichijou arrives. Kuuga, in a great leap, rams the weapon into Xu Bazuu Ba's chest, which begins to glow. Xu Bazuu Ba staggers back, and then suddenly explodes. Kuuga's hand is shown smoking…
Afterwards, Yuusuke asks Sakurako is she's alright. She says yes, and gives Yuusuke the thumbs-up. Ichijou turns to leave, and Sakurako starts after him, but then stops.
