This section handles information that is not known to most EarthBound players. These tips could drastically help your chances of beating the game with a lot more ease.
How to use PSI Paralysis effectivly.
Most players do not even use Ness's PSI Powers with the excepting of Life Up, Heal, Teleport, and his "special attack". One of these not-used attacks is PSI Paralysis. This attack can freeze enimies right in their tracks so they cannot attack you. Of course you should only use this move on tough eneimes like bosses. Most people don't use Paralysis becuase the think it does not always work. That is not true. It works all the time. Just watch what enimy you are using it on. To paralyize someone you tense up their nerves, so only living things can be paralyized. So don't use PSI Paralysis on robotic enemies! Just use it on human and animal enimies. The best places to use Paralysis are: On Mondo Mole in Happy Happy Village, Mad Buffalos in Dusty Dunes Desert, Moles in the gold digger's cave, and on Pokey in the battle against Giygas.
How to free up a lot of un-wanted space in your Goods menu.
EarthBound does not have an unlimited goods menu like other RPGs do. So space is valuable. So don't waste space with condiments, un-used equippable items, or worthless food items. In the begining of the game fill up your goods menu completly before Buzz Buzz gives you the sound stone. He will see that your goods menu is full and give the sound stone to your sister instead. Also, when ever you go to a "Your Sanctuary" place, Ness still records the melody even though you do not have the sound stone. So you free up a space on your Goods menu. Do the same thing with Apple Kid. Kill up your goods menu, give Apple Kid some food, go to the trash can in his house, get the item inside, then talk to his mouse. The mouse will not give you the receiver phone, but you will still receive all the calls you normally would if you had the phone. This clears up another spot.
