Congratulations to our contest winner!
We at the site wish to congratulate the winner of our Sandcastle Day contest, Janet Black. We thank all those who ordered tickets through the web site. With your help, more than 50 tickets were ordered through the site alone! Our winner is a little camera shy, so we do not have a picture to show. Thanks again to all who participated!

The Centennial is only one day away!!! Tomarrow starts a celebration a hundred years in the making. We here at the web site wish to thank everyone who has supported our project over the last few months. We hope to see each and everyone of you at the festivities. Ticket ordering and contest closed!
Thanks to all who ordered their tickets through the web site! The contest, and the ticket sale is now closed. Check back on Tuesday, 6-19-01, for details on our contest winner. If you have ordered tickets through the site, you will reciever a call on Tuesday. The tickets can be picked up on Wednesday, June 20th at the Fire Hall from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Thanks again to all who entered!

Enter into the W.H. Centennial Sandcastle Day Contest!
You heard right! We here at the website are holding a contest. The contest starts today, Friday, June 8, 2001, and end on Wednesday, June 20, 2001. The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 21, 2001. What will you win? You will win two tickets to ride all day at Sandcastle Water Park, one ticket for you and one for your guest. The tickets will also cover you admission to the food we will be serving that day. This prize totals over $50.00!

Changes to the pictures section!
Viewers to this site will see a new look to the pictures section in coming days. Currently, all pictures have been taken off of the page, and will be replaced when everyting is ready. Please be patient in this process. Improvements that are on the way included an easier navigation through the images, and, more images!!! More photos are in the process of being taken. West Homestead Loses a great advocate.
The community united in sorrow earlier this month as West Homestead lost long time councilman and friend Ray Sinawski. Ray served 30 years on council and was one of the people who got the new Borough Building construction started. Ray has done so much for West Homestead, and the community. We here at the web page want to say thank you! Click Here to visit a tribute page named in Ray's honor. The site will feature such information as accomplishments he achieved, comments from fellow concilmembers and more. A picture will also soon be posted. On the count of three! One...Two...Three!
Borough Building Groundbreaking Ceremony is a success!

Groundbreaking ceremonies for West Homestead's new Borough Building were held on Saturday, January 20th. The event was a complete success! Some of the faces that appeared were Chief Executive of Allegheny County, Hon. James C. Roddey; Mayor, Hon. John J. Dindak and State Representative, Hon. Harry A. Readshaw. After the speaches were give inside the W.H. Volunteer Fire Building, nearly 100 people walked across the street to the future site of the new W.H. Borough Building/Civic Center. There, the official groundbreaking was held. A flag was then raised on the site. Light refreshments were held back at the Fire Hall. The Borough Building should be completed by time the celebration is underway in June!

Groundbreaking ceremonies for West Homesteads' new Borough Building have been set for Saturday, January 20th. This event will be video taped by a group of students from Steel Valley High School. Construction of the building has already begun! For more information on construction, click here!
