Resident Evil - Enemies

Zombie
Zombie
In the midst of the devestating T-virus outbreak in Umbrella's Arklay Lab, all of the scientists became infected and ultimately mutated into the living dead. The zombie is one of the easiest (and most populous) enemies of the game and can be taken down with any weapon, but the 9mm Beretta will be your main weapon against these guys for most of the game. There are a few types of zombies ranging from scientists to test subjects. Though fairly easy, don't be cornered by these guys for too long or you'll promptly become another victim of the T-virus outbreak.

Cerberus
Cerberus
Responsible for the vicious attacks on Raccoon's citizens, the Cerberus is the first of Umbrella's hideous experiments the S.T.A.R.S. encounter during their mission-gone-sour. These guys, as the Zombies, can be very easy, or very hard. The best of your arsenal to be used when facing these guys is either a few well placed 9mm Beretta or Shotgun rounds. These pooches usually move in packs of 2 - 3, and when they attack, they like to circle you and then jump at your throat.

Crow
Crow
A miniscule enemy, the crows pose almost no threat to you and are very scarce. They can be found on the 2nd floor balcony and the portrait room. The crows travel in large packs and are very easy to defeat. In fact, one hit from ANY weapon will kill them. Though seemingly easy, dont get caught up in the claws of these guys when your health is in "DANGER," or you may be greeted by the "You Died" screen promptly.

Yawn - (Large Snake)
Yawn - (Large Snake)
The Yawn, inhabiting the attic of the mansion, may be one of the toughest enemies found in the game. When you first meet the snake in the attic, you must retrieve a crest from the hole he was hiding in, but you musn’t kill him...yet... The second time you face him, you must do away with his presence, but he isn’t ready to give up. Your best bet against the snake during the second battle (depending which character your playing as) is either the Bazooka equipped with Acid Rounds or the Colt Python. Unloading your weapon on his head seems to be his weak point. The snake has a number of deadly attacks including a poisonious bite and a deadly attack in which he will swallow your character whole. As another hint of advice, don’t let him coil around you or your chances of hitting his head are slim-to-none.

Small Snake
Small Snake
Not even close to being as deadly as their larger relative, but just as poisonous. The small snake, just like the crows, is a very miniscule enemy and is only encountered just beyond the second ladder of the pool located in the courtyard. Don’t worry about these guys. Just run.

Bee
Bee
These guys are a joke and probably the easiest enemy in the Resident Evil series. You will encounter the Bees only once in the game; In the Guardhouse when you grab a dormitory key from the shelf under their hive. As the swarm comes to attack, just run out a door, and when you return to the room, they will be gone.

Spider
Spider/Black Tiger
Armed with a poisonous spray of acid, the spider can prove tough at times. You will encounter the spiders in few parts of the game and your best bet when facing these guys to to either run, or fight. The spiders are equipped with a spray of poisonous acid capable of sending you into the “Poison” status. The weapon of choice against a spider is probably the Bazooka loaded with Acid Rounds, for these rounds will kill the babies within the mother spider’s womb that are ready to come out when their mother has been killed. An easy enemy, but if at all possible, just avoid them

Black Tiger
Only found in the underground courtyard paths, this humongous spider, known as the "Black Tiger" is fairly easy to defeat. This spider has the exact same attacks as the smaller spiders, but it can kill you twice as quick. Run around the spider and fire at it with a rather powerful weapon...maybe the Colt Python... After the spider is defeated, its body will burst open and out come the babies to attack. Just leave the room and then re-enter it and the babies will be gone.

Small Spider
Baby Spider
As mentioned in the above enemy’s description, these guys will burst from a spider just seconds after you have killed it. They are more annoying than dangerous and aren’t poisonous. As a hint of advice to avoid these guys, once you kill a spider, immediately leave the room, then return and the babies will be gone.

Neptune - (Shark)
Neptune - (Shark)
Only found in the flooded basement of the guardhouse, the experimental shark is a very small threat to your character. Once you see them, run into the Control Room in the flooded basement and open up the drains which will incapacitate the sharks. Afetr you drain the water, the sharks will be floppin’ on the ground. It’s not necessary to kill them, but if ya have extra ammo, it’s worth it to bust a cap in ‘em to watch ‘em bleed.

Plant 42
Plant 42
After the accident at point 42 when the guardhouse basement was flooded, the out-of-control experimental plant took over. Located in the Guardhouse, Plant 42 gathers its nutrients via root from the flooded basement. This battle can be easy or tough, depending on what character you’re playing as. Decent wepons to be used against the plant included the Bazooka and the Shotgun. Also, be weary of the plant’s swaying vines and the plaster it knocks from the ceiling.

Hunter
Hunter
One of Umbrella’s most hideous experiments, the Hunter is probably one of the most deadly creatures inhabiting the Spencer Estate. You will encounter these guys after you return from the guardhouse. The Hunters will be inhabiting the mansion halls and the underground paths of the courtyard. The rule when facing these guys to fight, don’t even THINK of running or your butt is theirs. The Hunters are extremely fast and have the ability to decapitate you with their razor claw in one, short jump. Don’t use anything less powerful than the shotgun on these guys, but the Bazooka loaded with Acid Rounds or the Colt Python are your best defenses.

Chimera
Chimera
Inhabiting the power maze located in the underground lab, the Chimeras are one of Umbrella’s most unsuccessful experiments. They are quite fast and have the ability to hang from the ceiling, only to drop onto your back and slash wildly at you. The best defense when facing a Chimera is running, but your Bazooka or Colt Python will suit ya well if you’re looking for a fight.

Tyrant
Tyrant
“The ultimate life form.” - Albert Wesker***In their experiments, Umbrella has been looking to create the most powerful bio-weapon. A soldier with no emotion. And it seems they’ve succeeded. After being let loose from its holding tank in the B4 control room, the Tyrant is out and is after you. The first battle takes place in the control room itself and is a fairly easy fight - providing you have the right weapon. In the first battle, use the empty capusles as cover and plug away at the Tyrant until he drops.

The second battle isn’t as easy. You’re awaiting an airlift from Brad as the Tyrant smashes from under the Heliport and is ready to get down to business. You wont need any guns or ammo for this fight - only health! Bring all the recovery items you have and dodge the Tyrant as he tries to make you another victim of the incident. After you’ve kept dodging him for about a minute or so, Brad will toss you a rocket launcher from the hovering ‘copter and one clean hit to the Tyrant will be enough to end this mission...
