The Confession
Alexia jumped out of the pool and with her came most of the water in it or so it seemed. She wrenched most of the water out of her hair as she walked away from the pool. Nick jumped out of the pool and ran after her.
"Alexia, wait," he said as he grabbed her arm, but she continued walking down the wooden stairs leading to the private beach.
"Alexia, please wait," Nick said again as he released her arm gently following her.
As she reached the cold sand, she stopped and turned to face him, but never making eye contact. Nick looked at her not knowing what had happened.
"Alexia, what happen? What did I do?"
"What did you do?" she screamed. "You told me you loved me, that's what you did," she contined in the same tone of voice.
"What is so wrong with that?" Nick asked softly, fear taking control over him but getting a little mad himself, too.
"I am not one of your little flings, you think that I'll fall for every line, well think again 'cause I've heard them all!"
"A line? A line, that is what you think it was? I try, God knows, I try to understand you. I am here with my heart and soul and I want to give it to you but you just keep on pushing me away, thinking that I am just playing with you, that you are just a game."
" Well, wouldn't that be nice? I am the greatest game of them all, let's play who can make Alexia fall in love with them. I am not a thing, I do have feelings, too."
"So do I, and when I say that I am falling in love with you, I mean it. I really don't have experience in the subject but I do know that this feeling is more than physical attraction, and the person I love won't let me love her," Nick said walking closer to her.
"You cant love me," she said almost at a whisper.
"But I do, for some reason I am falling head over heels for you. Why, who knows? But I am. And I can't change that. I want to know you, why you don't let people in, why do you think I can't love you?" he said softly caressing her face.
"Every move you make, every smile, every look, every laugh, I love everything about you, I am in love with a stranger but I want to change that," he said cradling her face in his wrinkled hand.
"I am just a boy standing in front of a girl asking her to love me," he said making her laugh.
"Now that is a line!" she smiled.
"well sometimes a guy needs some help, even if it comes from movies," he said as he hugged her.
"You do realize I am soaking wet and don't have any extra clothes," Alexia said as the walked up the stairs.
"Well I guess you just have to stay" he smiled slyly as he slid his arm around her waist.
"Yeah right! When cows fly, buddy..." she said as she took of her sandy wet tennis shoes before walking into the house.
"What the hell happened to you two?" Kevin asked as he noticed the two soaking bodies.
"Well… you could say we had a little situation with the pool," Nick said, taking his wet shirt off.
"Yeah your wearing it," AJ said looking at Alexia's quivering body.
"Your turn," Nick said, motioning to Alexia to take her shirt off.
"Yeah right, dream on, buster," she said gripping her wet shirt.
Brian came in the room carrying two towels. "Here you go, Frack," he said as the two towels flew in the air.
"Thanks" was said in unison.
Nick rubbed both sides of alexia's body trying to get her warm. "You can stop doing that now, everyone is staring at us," Alexia whispered as she saw the confused look on eveyone's face. Nick blushed slightly and moved away from Alexia, making her giggle.
"Do you have anything I could wear?" she smiled shyly, feeling intimidated by his eyes. 'Just breathe,' she told herself as she looked away.
Alexia walked into the room wearing a large pair of gray sweats about 8 sizes too big, an over sized Chicago Bulls tee shirt, and her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Nick followed behind carrying a bundle of wet clothes. Alexia plopped herself on the couch next to Brian, making him laugh lightly.
Nick smiled at her. "I'll put your clothes in the dryer," he said as he dissappeared from the room.
"Hi," Alexia whispered.
"Hey, beautiful," Brian whispered back to Alexia who had leaned her head on his shoulder.
"What time is it?" Alexia asked, raising her tone of voice slightly.
"Late," Brian answered, not knowing the exact time.
"Thanks," she said sarcastically looking back at the TV.
"I still can't decide who I like, more the girl on tv or the one sitting next to me," Brian said pointing at the mirrored image of Alexia on the TV.
"Well let me help you make a decission, the one over there you will never meet, and well she ain't real!" Alexia joked. She looked at herself on the screen and felt like throwing up.
"God! What ever possesed me to dye my hair black!" she said in a much lower tone.
"I think you look sexy," Kevin said looking back at her from one of the couches. She immediatly blushed.
"Thanks, but I look sick. I am way to pale," she smiled shyly at him.
"Well I think you look great no matter what," Kevin smiled back. "I think you look great with black hair, red hair, blue, or even purple" he continued.
"Thanks, Sexiest Man Alive of 2001," Alexia giggled.
