Seventh Grade Social Studies Page
This course of
study starts with an examination of the European background of
American History and continues up to the events leading to the
Civil War. Some of the themes covered are: Development of
Cultures, Exploration, Colonization, Revolution, Expansion,
Sectionalism, Slavery, and War.
Materials needed for
this class:
Two large notebooks: (1)Social Studies: Front for notes - Middle for Homework(<---) - Middle for Classwork(--->)
Back for vocabulary - Last two pages of notebook will be reserved for recording of grades
for quiz, test, projects.
Format: Type - Date - Grade - Parent Signature.
(2)Current Events: Format will be presented in class - one full side summary and one full
side opinion. An article will be due each Friday even if we don't have school
that day.
- Test folder: Will be provided by teacher at cost. Will be used for storing test papers and other assignments.
- Theme paper--no holes
- Ruler and red pen
- Homework book: Homework assignments kept here and signed each evening by a parent.
- Dictionary
- Blue or black pens for writing - no felt tip pens.
- Art boxes for art class - crayons, colored pencils, charcoal pencil, glue - box and materials do not have to be new,
but should be in good shape.
