May 7 Pudong: newer part of Shanghai, north of the river Puxi: older part of Shanghai, south of the river Took a tour through Pudong today. In the older areas, people came out of their homes and followed us down the street! We were a big hit!
Had lunch at a nice restaurant. However, the toilet was a hole in the floor! Squatting over a hole to pee is a little disconcerting at first. But you get used to it. Public washrooms in Shanghai are not free! You have to pay something like, 1 RMB.
