Motorcycles & Thangs 3.

Due to more and more pics becoming available i decided to create a third motorcycle related page.Hope you enjoy the pictures and captions. A bit more about my motorcycling history first. I started with very humble beginnings at age 16 (1981) with a Suzuki TS50ER. My love for all things motorcycles was instantaneous as everything else i forgot about! In South Africa at the time from 16 til 18 you could only ride a 50 cc. I had some great times on that 50.In 1983 my pop bought me a Suzuki GS550E which speed and power compared to the 50 was mind-boggling.I had my only really serious accident on that bike which resulted in me having to undergo a cervical fusion and spend much time in hospitals. +- 4 months in hospitals and sick bays are no fun.I then did not ride for about 18 months being to shit scared of bikes BUT in 1985 i bought a Honda CB900FC which was secondhand but in excellent condition.Really good bike to tour around South Africa with which i did aplenty. In 1987 i bought a Suzuki Katana 750 , again 2nd hand but also in great condition. This was the best bike i have ever owned requiring virtually no maintenance.Mainly used as a commuter and a fast tourer. In 1991 i bought a Suzuki 750 ES which again was used mainly for Sports Touring. Late 1991 i bought a Kawasaki GPZ1100ZX which was an '84 model but this thing was super fast. The motor had been worked on and 2 up this bike would top 240km's per hour no problem. Unfortunatly it needed a engine overall every 6 month's and became too expensive to keep. In 1994 i bought a Honda VF750F ( yeah i know chocolate cams the lot) which went pretty well for an '84 model. Never had problems with it all though she started making funny cam noises about a month before i part exchanged her for a Suzuki GSXR750WN. This bike expanded all my known boundries of motorcycles. Everything about this bike was brilliant. Oh, getting to plugs, filters etc is NOT brilliant. I suppose that is the price that needs to be paid.My riding style has also changed from being generally sports touring orientated to being totally SPORTS orientated. No more long touring rides now. Trailer the bike to where i wanna go and SCRATCH that itch. NEWS FLASH!!! Recently traded in my GSXR750WN for a Honda VTR1000 FW.

I refer to the VTR1000 as my V-twin-Orgasm,,its just that good.Herewith a pic taken at a recent track day held at Kyalami,South Africa on the 17 Feb 2001. Unfortunatly the Firestorm was stolen ,otherwise i ould have kept her forever. When looking around for my next bike i decided on the fuel injected GSXR750.Bike is in mint condition.Time will tell wether she is a keeper or not though.
