Above a pic taken at a track day on 26th August 2000 at Kyalami ZA.Twins around here seem to have the edge due to driveability around the corners. Now that i am back on an inline 4 kyalami is certainly gonna take some getting used to again.
The Eastern Transvaal of South Africa is God's gift to motorcyclists. With all types of roads there to cater for all tastes. The road between Sabie and Hazyview is legendary amongst bikers all over South Africa. With excellent sweeps and bends.Funny thing is that i enjoy cornering more than anything else about bikes and THEN i want to go round them as quickly as possible.
Above a photo of me taken in 1991 aboard my GPZ1100ZX along the Sabie Hazyview road.Fortunatly i have never had an accident along this road but many "hairy moments" including an incident when a guy in front of me touched an engine cover causing his number plate to come off and hit my knee with the sharp edges,OUCH!!!
Along the same road in 1988,but aboard my Suzuki Katana 750.This was without doubt the best bike i ever owned.I rode it for 90 000 km's only changing plugs, oil and tyres.Never ever a major service. It just kept on and on.Never should have sold it."sob"
A group shot taken in 1988.As i said the Eastern Transvaal is also beatiful as can be seen by the scenic background. Taken 1988.
Above is a picture of my mate Willie's Katana Mark 2 taken prior to the modifications done.He has subsequently bought a VTR1000.
Above are two pictures of Willie's bike after modifications which include a great spray job and slotting in a GSXR1100 motor. He has since modified it
at tad more with a new spray job,RF 17 inch front wheel
and a RGV250 reinforced swingarm. Will post pictures soon.
