PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  Sunergy for the New Millennium is a collaborative project that explores solar energy by having students construct a solar collector.They will record the change in water temperature and compare their results to participating schools at various latitudes. This is an interdisciplinary  project that aligns with Core Curriculum Standards. Students will use the internet to correspond with participating schools and to post their data.

REQUIREMENTS

This project is open to students anywhere in the world, grades 6-8. We especially encourage schools in the Southern Hemisphere, Tropics and high latitudes to participate.

Participants must perform the experiment a minimum of 2 times between April 23 - May 11, 2001

Submit data  by May 11, 2001. Data from all schools will be available as it is submitted. Use this form to sort the information and analyze the data..

We ask that all participants register here and then submit a letter of introduction from their school.

Make a final report including observations and conclusions.

Optional prerequisite lessons should be completed by March 31, 2000.

April 23 - May 11

Complete Science Experiment

By May 11, 2001

Submit data as experiment is conducted

May 11, 2000

Deadline for submitting final reports
