GUIDELINES FOR FINAL REPORT

Before preparing the final report, make graphs using data from participating schools.  Use the variables that you recorded in your data table.  Identify any trends.  Which variables seem to have the greatest or least effect on change in water temperature? Do these results make sense? Why or why not?  A spreadsheet program could be used to create these graphs.

Be sure to include answers to the following questions in your final report:

1.  Does latitude and longitude have an effect on the availability of solar energy?

2. Which latitudes have the greatest change in water temperature? Which have the least?
      Speculate on the cause for this difference.

3. Describe the relationship between longitude and the availability of solar energy.

4. Based on the data, where would be the best place to live if you had to rely on solar energy? (scenario)

5. Is there any relationship between latitude and the angle of the sun? If so, briefly describe this relationship.

6. If you were to conduct this experiment six months from now, how would you results differ?
