Agent X says it was not because they wanted to be a freak show or anything like that, they wanted to created something worth the price of admission to see. "Unfortunately a lot of narrow minded people don't see it that way" X explains, "They don't get the idea of a performance, because they have never seen one".
Comparing the AOK as more of a Rock Opera Performance than just a Musical Concert. "Alice Cooper just blew me away, because of the theatrics" he intensely expresses the strong influence from the experience. "He had an actual performance to go with the music, so did Jethro Tull, Queens Ryche and Kiss" all obviously strong influences on this groups work.
When responding to the following question of: So you a big Kiss fan right?
X Laughs "I'm a die hard Gene Simmons fan, I mean hey I love all the Kiss line-ups and musicians" He begins explaining in more detail, "But Gene is the man when it comes to pushing up the marker as a performer" he gives credit where he believes it is due.
In 2000 Gene Simmons would announce the last of Kiss's albums and tours that would give one last chance to experience their performance. "His exact words were pretty much the industry is F*#!ED from the direction it has gone in" the agents Guitarist laughs. "That is pretty straight forward and to the point, and I agree with him" X pushes the point further home.
"Bands today are either a performance with no point, or one of natious amounts of perversion and hate" he shakes his head. "Or on the Flip side of the record we have a group of bozos who jump on the stage in levies, t-shirts and tennis shoes, staring down at their feet through-out a whole set"
Point being ?
"We didn't want to be any of these, and we certainly didn't want to be Kiss or any other groups entity either" he shakes his head again. "We wanted to bring something new and different, something we could place our own mark upon".
Still X had researched today's market and his targeted audience to see if fans would sink their teeth into the AOK's approach.
"The market of today has suffered numerous blows bellow the belt, seeming to be only the beginning of what's to follow in the passing years" X looks at the market from his perspective.
