In 1962 Carrol Shelby aproached Ford with the idea of placing a small-block V8 into a beautifully designed, but underpowered, English roadster made by the AC sports car company. When the Mustang was introduced, Shelby saw this new car's potential in high performance, and soon afterwards, the Shelby GT350 was born.
