In 1965, Ford, in cooperation with Carroll Shelby, created one of the most notorious lines of muscle cars ever built... The GT350. Shelby had already approached GM with his idea for a new two-seat sports car, but GM decided that if they built another two seat sports car they would be competing with themselves. In 1965, you could buy your shelby in any color or combination of colors you wanted.....as long as it was white with blue stripes.
