In 1967, the Mustang was redesigned and modified; it was larger, and more sleek. Shelby saw the potential with the new larger bodystyle that could accept a bigger engine. And the GT500 was born. Powered by a 428 Police interceptor engine, it was nearly unbeatable. 1967 was also the last year of the 289 High Performance for the GT350.







The Mustang below is one of the few '67 GT500's that, due to production problems, got the 427ci medium-riser engine.
