Chapter Eight
Katelyn
Destiny and I walked around town for three hours, finding nothing to do. "Damn, there's nothing here." I muddered miserably.
Destiny thought a minute, then grinned. "Let's go to Allie's. I'm sure we can find something to do there."
"Hell yeah! I'm out of ciggerettes anyway. No thanks to you." I looked over at her and punched her in the arm.
She stuck her tounge out at me. It was becoming her trade mark. Yay. "Watch out, you might swollow a bug."
"You've figured me out. Yum." She laughed. "That's why they call me the 'Black Widdow.'"
I looked over at her. "No one calls you that."
She shrugged. "They could if they wanted to."
I rolled my eyes. My trade mark.
Finally, we reached Allie's house. Destiny didn't bother knocking and walked in. "Hey Al. Are you home?"
"Yeah. I'm in the bathroom. Hang on." A muffled voice answered.
We sat down on the couch and waited. There were ashtrays, rolling paper, and Coke cans all over the coffee table. My kind of place.
We heard the toliet flush and Allie finally came out. "Sorry guys. I just woke up and was feeling nausiuos."
I glanced down at my watch. Three-thirty. I grinned. "Long night, huh?"
She smiled and sat on her over-stuffed arm chair. "How are the tattoos and peircings going? Did your parents say anything?"
"My brother and his dork friend looked at us like we were freaks or something. It was cool. My dad didn't say anything." I answered, picking up a lighter that was on the table and twirled it around in my fingers.
"My dad hasn't seen it yet. I stayed at her house last night. But I'm sure he'll freak."
Allie pulled out a bag. "Dave told me to give this to you." she tossed the bag at me, and I caught it. Go me. I opened the bag and smiled. "No shit." I pulled out a baggie, filled to the top with weed. At the bottom were several pills. "We're gonna have fun tonight!"
Destiny grabbed the bag from me. "The weed will do. No acid or speed."
I grabbed the bag out of her hands. "Maybe none for you. But there's no way in hell I'm going to waist this shit."
I saw Destiny roll her eyes in my direction, but I didn't care.
"You better not do that shit when I'm not around. You might do something crazy." she warned.
I smiled. "That's the whole point."
Taylor
I couldn't stop thinking about Katelyn. Even as I walked home, her new "image" was still stuck in my mind. What had happened to her? That thought stayed in my head since I had sat eyes on her yesterday. Her room smelled like pot. I had never done it, but friends of mine had.
I walked through the front door of my house to find surprising silence.
I walked into the kitchen to see if anyone had left a note for me. As I suspected, it was on the table.
Taylor,
Honey, we've gone to the grocery store to buy food for you. Grandma's sick so we have to fly to Texas
to take care of her. We will be gone for a week. Ike and Zac wanted to go also and we know you don't get a long with Trent because of the insident last year. We will be back from shopping soon. Zoe is asleep. Zac's in your room. Or should be. If he's not, he's grounded. Love you.
Mom and Dad
I threw the letter in the garbage can. I went upstairs to check on my little sister. She was sliently sleeping in her crib. I smiled. I hadn't got to see much of her while we were on tour. It was hard to believe she was one already. And I had missed it all. I covered her with her blanket and went across to my room that I shared with Zac. He was snoring loudly on the floor. I sighed. This was going to be a long week.
