Chapter Eleven

"Okay people, I have an announcement to make." Devon held off the next band and stood on the stage, talking into the microphone. The crowd became silent. "Everybody's been asking where Lenora is. Well, she's not here. She left a while ago. She had gotten from a New York hospital concerning her mother. She immediately left for New York, with Dane to support her. I just got a call from Lenora a few minutes ago." He took a breath and continued on. "She called saying that her mother had died in a car accident." A murmur of whispers went around the crowd. "She passed away a couple minutes after Lenora and her mother had exhanged a few words. I'm sorry to have to bring such bad news to a party, but I thought you all should know."
"We should make a card and have everybody sign it on their way out." Danielle shouted up to the stage.
"Good idea. Anybody that wants to help make it, meet me in my kitchen ." He turned to the next band. "Sorry to make your job more difficult- to try and get the crowd happy again." He exited the stage and made his way to his house.
