July 26:
Previous plans were already made tonight so we didn't race.

August 2nd:
Today was the day!
After the last set of practice laps we discovered a missing doughnut gasket on the right side, so a quick trip to the parts store to get one was needed..
With the threat of rain on hand all night we managed to qualify 4th fastest with a lap time of 17.62 seconds around the 3/8 mile LCS oval. Being 4th fastest put us in the dash race. (4 laps for the 4 fastest cars). We started on the pole (first position) and held the spot throughout the 4 lap race to take the checkers.
A loose condition in the heat race kept us in the rear of the field for the remainder of that race, we went on to finish 6th out of 7 cars.
Feature action saw Red holding a good position near the middle of the pack untill a bump by another car sent the #43 Monte Carlo into a spin on turn 4. Being charged with the caution put Red at the back of the pack and he worked his way to 10th place at the drop of the checkers.

August 9th:
I can't really say what all happened today because I was busy with other things and couldnt attend the races.

August 16th:
The days racing was a wash out because of heavy thunder storms that moved through. Not to bad, the first rain out of the year.

August 23rd:
Once again I missed tonight's action, but I was in touch with the team while I attended a wedding for a good friend in Fulton New York. It was nice to hear of the heat win!

August 30th:
Tonight didn't go so well, after the first lap of qualifying the clutch disc broke, After getting a new one and missing the heat races the transmission broke entering the feature race. We've got a back up so its back to the shop to replace transmissions.

September 1st:
Today's Labor Day races were called because of an all day rain, which is fine with me because I'm not a fan of HAVING to race on a Holiday, I rather be spending time relaxing and enjoying the time off work.

September 6th:
With the back up transmission in the car and a new clutch installed we hit the track only to find out the clutch was slipping pretty bad so we loaded the #43 Monte Carlo back on the trailer and went home to concentrate on the upcoming weekend race's

September 12th:
Tonight is a Test and Tune night under the lights for the races Saturday and Sunday.

September 13th:
The 2003 Cavalcade seen a fair amount of cars turnout, nothing like previous years but at least the weather was very nice.
In heat race action the number 43 Grand National was having a good run until the 2nd to last lap saw the leaders tangle, when Red went high to avoid the accident the lead car came back up the track and caught the left side of our car. At first glance it looked as if maybe the rim was bent but after the tow truck dropped the car in the pit stall we noticed the left side axel housing was bent bad. Luckily we didn't have to race until Sunday so we had time to get the old rear end housing out and a new one in.

September 14th:
A special thanks to the #10 Grand National and the #40 E Mod for all the help in getting the new rear end housing installed. Although we missed hot laps we got it back together in time for the Feature.
We started 6th in the Feature but no one thought to check out the front end with all the commotion going on getting the rear back together, we didn't catch that the sway bar link on the left side was broke. Red had his hands full trying to get the car to handle but with 5 laps in the black flag flew for us due to a smoking problem, the cause a failed transmission seal.
Congratulations to Junior Lego for his first ever race in the Spectator Stock Division.
The J&M Motor Sports / Red Dog Racing Monte Carlo finished 27th in points for the 2003 season

September 27th:
With strong storms hitting the area Friday night it was doubtful if the Bobby-Jo Hay Invitational was going to be held, but by 9 am the rain left the area and the track was dry, not much can be said for the pits and the infield though.
Today's race only saw the Grand Nationals and Spectator Stocks. The #43 Grand National was fighting a very loose condition all day. In heat race action Red started up front and slowly fell back to the rear. Tire changes and pressure changes didn't really have any effect because in feature action pretty much the same happened.
At least it was a beautiful day for our last race of the season.
Congratulations to Junior Lego for his first heat race win of his short racing career. In the Spectator Feature, Junior drove a great line despite a bad push in the car. He went on to finish 4th.

We have decided not to run the last weekend of racing at Lorain County. Instead we thought it would be better to get an early start on rebuilding the #43 Grand National for next season in hopes of a run at the Championship.
in the works are a new paint scheme and hopefully a return of the #58 on the doors. I will try and update everyone on what changes are taking place. Thanks to everyone who has an interest in what's going on with J&M Motor Sports / Red Dog Racing. We will see you again next year!
