New Stuff
Im going to have pictures of the new cars that have come out lately that I really like. Lately it has been all JL, but I'm sure other companies will step it up soon.
My sister got me the Hess Domino's Pizza truck for Christmas. It's really cool. I used to own a Domino's Pizza store, so it was a nice gift. It goes well with the Johnny Lightning Arie Luyendyk Dominos Indy car. The JL car was only sold at the Indy 500 and was limited to 5,000.
CLASSIC GOLD!
I love JL's Classic Gold series. It has a great variety of models and the photo cards are great for displays. My favorites in this set have been the old gassers and pro stocks.
SHOW RODS!
When JL anounced that they were doing a George Barris set, I couldn't wait. As it turns out, I am a little disappointed in this set. I like about 5 of the models, but they seem to be out of scale. The Emperor, which is a little roadster, was made larger than the big ole muscle car based Fireball 500! This is the reason I don't collect Racing Champions. Their scales are all off. Plus the display stand was a nice idea, but I would rather have a photo card as the display stand looks cheap and really detracts from the package. I hope JL does a better job on the new Surf Rods due out in 2000.
