The Loyal Opposition - Newsletter Introduction
During the years proceeding the Second World War, a small band of English
statesmen and leaders, lead by Winston Churchill, formed an informal group known as the Loyal Opposition. They committed
themselves to battle those who would appease Nazi Germany. These men and woman loved their country and their form of
Government that gave them their freedoms. In the spirit of opposing mans tyranny over man, in our case abortion, we humbly seek to be worthy of even the slightest association with these men
and women.
They also understood the need to consistently identify the enemy and to be vigilant to
stand against this enemy even at great cost. No less than the survival of Western Civilization as we know it depended on this vigilance!
In light of the slaughter of forty million unborn children, it is clear that we can do no less.
To be faithful to their original intent, we seek to accomplish three goals. First, to achieve
victory in this war, we must recognize it AS A WAR. This requires a
paradigm shift. For our actions to match our rhetoric,
we must begin to approach abortion as a war waged by the abortionists and anyone that assists them. This war, where
propaganda is implemented, prisoners are taken, and people die, is waged on innocent people. Our culture generally and
the Church specifically, have relegated Child Killing to a political issue, a theological debate, or a personal sin. All
these positions do disservice to the truth and mock the lives of the victims. In order to win, we must state the case
honestly to a listening world, whether it is comfortable or not.
Second, when we allow our hearts and heads to accept this paradigm shift, we realize we must identify and engage the enemy
on The Battlefronts where we find ourselves. What should a German physician have said and done in light of Dr.
Mengeles "research" in the 1930's? What attorney would not burst with pride to share the heritage of a John Quincy Adams
as he stood before the Supreme Court arguing for the very lives of the prisoners of the slave ship
Amistad In the
mind's eye we can observe an 1850's Sheriff in the Ohio Valley swinging open a cellar door and staring into the terrified
eyes of those who were breaking man's laws to possess their God given freedom. Was this the defining moment of the
Sheriff's faith? Whether we choose to do battle in the arena where we find ourselves will define ours.
Finally, essential to the defeat of those who would destroy God's image is the need to hold
fast to His hope and promises.
The Church has been blessed with the spiritual, legal and intellectual underpinnings
that has given us our enormous freedoms today. Scripture and history make it clear that God commands us to stand and fight
for the innocent, and that His promises to protect us, and eventually bless our efforts, are guaranteed.
It is with these aims in mind that we present this newsletter to you.
