Not just anyone can be a Yankee. Players need to have miles and miles of heart to make it in the Big Apple. They need to crave the pressure, literally thrive on it, because they know the privilege of putting on the pinstripes and playing in The House that Ruth Built is never to be taken lightly. They know their fans, no matter how loyal, will not accept anything less than another World Championship and it is their commitment to excellence that has made them a tradition.

As a lifelong baseball fan and historian, I have always been fascinated with the legacy of America's National Pastime and especially the New York Yankees. These essays represent some of the studies that I have done on the Bronx Bombers for both print and online publications.
