Research and write a weekly newsletter aimed at warranty management professionals. Also built and maintain the WarrantyWeek.com Web site, which provides additional resources such as headlines and an industry meetings calendar. Subscribership via email, now approaching 2,500 people, is growing at a rate of 10% a month. Web traffic currently averages 8,000 pages served per week.

Provided quarterly columns for EEMA Briefing, a print publication aimed at members of the European Electronic Messaging Association. Reported on the EEMA annual meeting held each June. Spoke about industry trends at meetings in 1992, 1995, 1997, and 2001.

Performed market research and custom consulting projects for a wide range of clients, including Silicon Graphics, AT&T EasyLink, Hewlett-Packard Co., the European Commission DG XIII, the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment, Sun Microsystems, cc:Mail, Informix, Qualcomm, RAI (Italian TV), and Soft-Switch. Also took part in road shows for customers of Lotus Development Corp., Compaq Services, United Messaging, and others. Wrote articles for PC Week, Group Computing, Business Comm. Editor, Messaging Online, July 1999 – April 2001
Researched and wrote two daily email newsletters, Messaging Today in the morning and Messaging Headline News in the afternoon. Wrote financial, technology, and marketing columns, plus quarterly market size reports. Built the Messaging Online Web site from the ground up with a staff of three. Gained expertise in HTML production and daily email broadcasting to 3,300 subscribers in 83 countries. Internet startup company closed for lack of funding.

Reviewed concerts, interviewed recording artists and wrote a weekly column on digital music for SonicNet Music News, both before and after its acquisition by MTV Networks. Contributed over 100 articles during a five-year period. On-the-scene reporting on musical events in NYC, LA, Amsterdam, Philadelphia and London. Also published digital photographs on MTV.com and elsewhere. Laid off during reorganization that ended with SonicNet absorbed into VH1.com.

Provided monthly roundup of Internet news and market analysis for clients of Databank Consulting. Provided copy in plain text English, for translation into Italian and distribution by Databank as a paper newsletter. Outgrowth of a work project developing an economic model of the Internet for the European Commission DG XIII in 1994-98.

Wrote a majority of the articles in a twice-monthly industry newsletter on the fax, telex, voicemail and email marketplaces. Directed a staff of five. Tracked 100 companies in a messaging company stock market index. Initiated a broadening of market coverage to include fax and voicemail. In my third year, subscription renewal rate reached an 11-year high.

Gained performance training through radio music shows (1981-83) and morning newscasts (1980-81). Speak English fluently, and some Spanish and Italian.
Computer Literacy: Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 and Office 2000. Use Exchange and Outlook for email. Tracked 100 stocks with a custom-built Lotus 1-2-3 application. Began programming in BASIC, FORTRAN, and APL. Took five semesters of Electrical Engineering in college. Additional experience in Pascal and Cobol. Write articles in HTML using Allaire HomeSite, Ipswitch WS FTP, Microsoft Word 97, and Notepad.
