Day 4
Friday June 22, 2018
We were up early again today. After an in room breakfast of fruit and oatmeal we went back down to the pool area to spend the morning in our cabana.
After we were roasted on the outside and juicy on the inside we came back up to the room to get cleaned up and ready for the day.
Once we were cleaned up we went to Cafe Aquarius for lunch. Dee got fish and chips and I got open faced turkey. Good standard issue meal here. Nothing fancy but nothing nasty either.
We hit the casino and the VP machines and started off with 10 play. I was doing well at first hitting plenty of quads but few big dealt winners. My best hand was two bonus quads on one hand that got me ahead a bit. From there though it was all downhill. I couldn't get a dealt winner at all and had to reload. Dee was getting beat up and was down quite a bit before her first quad. She switched to triple play and continued to get crushed. I was down to my last few hands and took a hail Mary on DDB with no luck. I didn't have enough to play a hand of 10 play so switched to five play and landed my first set of aces for the trip. I switched back to bonus and lost everything in a matter of minutes. Dee had also busted out at this point and needed a reload. It was still tough for her too and she was getting crushed as well. She was also about to bust out and did a hail Mary on triple play landing a bonus quad. It wasn't a lot of help but saved her from busting out. Between us we dropped 9 bills on only about 13k in action.
We took a break from the machines and went across the street to the outlet mall. Dee was in the market for a few items and we found a couple of those over there at some good prices.
When we came back over to the Aquarius we came up to the room to take a break and have some snacks and watched TV for a while.
We went back to the casino after the break and hit the 10 plays again. I was doing fairly well and snagged my first straight flush of the trip. Dee got one as well which happened to be the dreaded king high version. While I was hovering for a change with a good amount of quads, Dee was getting crushed. She took a reload and switched to triple play and hit her first set of aces for the trip. I hit a couple of hands with double quads and got up by $200 which quickly disappeared. I wasn't too amused by this but then I got dealt four deuces for the $500 hit. We continued to play a little more and I cashed out with a $500 win while Dee dropped $200. All in all not a terrible result considering the earlier losses. One thing that killed us this time around was a lack of dealt straights, flushes and full houses. Between the 3 we had only a few in total.
For dinner we went to the Cove again. This time we used my vouchers. As a red card holder I get 2 food items and 4 drinks per week. Dee ordered a pizza with pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese for us to share and I ordered my favorite steak salad.
We wrapped up play tonight running my free play through quarter jacks. I had $380 in free play on my card which was my $300 mailer, $50 for our anniversary and the other $30 was actually supposed to be on Dee's card to make up for a shitty mailer. This machine was tough tonight and it wasn't uncommon to go 10 plus hands with no winners. I hit only 1 full house but got more dealt straights in $380 of action than I did all day on the 10 play machines. I turned the $380 free play into $345 cash which really helped offset the losses from earlier today.
When we were all done we came up here to the room and watched TV for a while.
