Day 25
Thursday July 7, 2016
We got up early today and went over to the Fremont Buffet which is one of Dee's favorites even though it's about as low end as it gets.
After breakfast we came back over to Main Street Station and started pounding away at the machines. We chose 10 play today to start off with. Things were not bad here. I hit a quad on my second hand and Dee hit a fair amount of quads. I had one hand with quad threes on 3 lines and a straight flush. I was hovering for the most part but Dee was swinging up and down. She needed to reload but then things leveled off for a while. I was starting to get beat up and so was she. She made the switch to make a hail Mary on DDB and got dealt quad sixes for the $2500 coin hit on what could have been her very last hand. We played a bit longer and we both cashed out dead even. We accumulated 35 scratch cards worth $71. They were all for $2 except for one $3 card.
We took a break up in the room for a while and then returned to the casino for some more video poker action. Once again we chose the 10 play machines. It was ugly. Lots of low pairs and way too many hands with no pay out. Dee was in for a grand and couldn't hit a thing. I wasn't in for quite as much but it wasn't good. I switched to DDB STP for a Hail Mary. I didn't get a multiplier but I did pull aces with a kicker for $500. This saved the session from being a total disaster but we still dropped 7 bills between us. We got 10 scratch cards worth $20 this time around.
I was aggravated so decided we'd take a lunch break before I went on an eff bomb rant and pissed Dee off. We just wanted something small to hold us until dinner so we went over to the Cal and there was a long wait for the cafe. We decided to go over to the Fremont to Lanai Express instead. I got Saiman and Dee got chili.
We came back over to Main Street Station and hit the machines again. This time we took a shot at 5 play. Dee said she was going to get dealt a royal on these machines today and that's why she wanted to play them instead the 10 plays. I figured, why not? This was where she hit a royal last night. It was streaky at first but we were hitting enough quads to keep alive. We hovered for a good amount of time but then I was losing credits rapid fire style. That's when it happened though. It was me that got dealt a royal flush! Another five grand in the pocket!
I got my hand pay and 5 scratch cards, tipped the staff (something I rarely do for a hand pay but these guys have provided us with over 150 scratch cards the last two days and always do it cheerfully) and then we continued to pound away. Soon after Dee got dealt quad nines. I pretty much died for a while after the royal but landed a straight flush on a 3 card hold and then hit quad aces after that. We cashed out this session with a huge profit and 25 scratch cards. They were all for $2 except for the $5 card Dee got.
We took a break up in the room for a while and then went downstairs to get something to eat. We went to the Triple 7. I had Brewmaster Meatloaf (which by the way is very good but I'm still burping up 6 hours later) and Dee had toasted Italian Combo with fries. She said that it was her new favorite sandwich.
After dinner we took one more shot at the video poker machines. We still needed a little more action for the day and I decided we'd take a shot at 10 play DDB STP. Dee immediately got whacked and was down over $100 before her first multiplier showed up. She finally got a 5x and was dealt flush 4. She actually landed 6 of them for a nice 750 coin hit. Then she lost it as fast as she hit it. I was also struggling to get multipliers but did snag a few quads along the way including a hand with 2 of them. Multipliers were sparse and the pay off weren't very good when they did appear. I was just about busted out and on one of my last hands got dealt a pair of queens, then the multiplier which landed at 10x. I was yelling at the machine to just drop one more queen but the fucker didn't do it. I drew to the pair and hit a full house which I was happy with as that was going to get me near even again even if the rest of the hands didn't improve. I few three of a kinds also popped up but on line 8 the quad filled in for 2500 coins. I immediately cashed out after getting my scratch card and a session the was just about to end with a $400 loss ended with a $500 win. I got 7 scratch cards worth $2 each.
We still wanted to get a few more points for the day so I decided to protect the gains and we'd play single line NSUD and buy in for $100 each. It was tough to go from playing jacks to deuces so we had to play slow to keep from making bonehead mistakes like holding a lone jack. Dee plugged along dropping for a bit then hitting a bunch of stuff to get back to even. She finally hit a quint and a wild royal to get ahead a bit. Right after she did that I got dealt 3 deuces and told Dee that I was going to hit a dirty royal too which, I did. It was the three deuces, a jack and a 4th deuce. Oops, I guess that's technically not a wild royal, it's 4 deuces for 1000 coins. We kept playing and I annoyingly got dealt quad threes. I went for the quint and failed and took my 20 coins. We cashed out with Dee breaking even and me up yet another $200.
We had enough action in for the day but Dee wanted to play some penny slots so we did that for a while with little luck. We dropped around $100 into those dumb things and got little play.
There is a progressive bank for dollars that was up over $6100 that I'd been telling Dee I was going to play because I needed to hit it. So after we lost playing penny slots I took a $100 shot at it. I hovered around even for a good 20 minutes with plenty of lower paying hands getting pretty good bang for my buck. That's was I was dealt 3 to a royal in spades. I looked over at Dee and she said do it. I hit the deal button and sure as shit the 10 of spades and queen of hearts popped up for the 20 coin win! (Come on, I know I'm on fire but did you really think that I was going to hit that too?). I eventually busted out but got quite a bit of play in considering I only hit one full house and no quads.
It was getting late and we were tired so came up here to relax and watch TV for the rest of the night before going to sleep.
