Diamond Den's News & Updates

**Canadian National Specialty**
Hosted by The Belgian Sheepdog Club of Canada, Northern Alberta Section

In April, 2000, over the Easter weekend, both Rocky and Gem were entered in this show, and we are sooooo excited about their results that we just have to *brag* a bit. *smile*

(Grooming Rocky, with a little help from Angie & Shayna.)

On Friday, both pups participated in the Puppy Sweepstakes, and under Judge Mr. Doug Smith....BOTH were awarded first place in their classes (Junior Male Puppy and Junior Female Puppy).

(In the Ring.....)

Needless to say - we are THRILLED to have recieved such great results, with this being our very first time showing.

On Saturday, both pups participated in the Conformation classes, and again both placed well, under Judge Sally Ann Comstock......Rocky was awarded 2nd place in his class, and Gem was awarded 3rd place in hers.

(Standing for Exam,)
(And our end results...4 ribbons,
2 X 1st place in Sweeps, 1 X 2nd, and 1 X 3rd in conformation.)

So there you have it folks....our first show was a wonderful experience all around. We (pups and I) all learned a lot, recieved some great advice from the more "experienced handlers", and enjoyed ourselves immenseley. *smile*

Due to our lack of experience......the ribbons and placements were totally unexpected, but a great honor none the less.

The other pups from this litter have all gone to great new homes.

"Zoe", our little grey female from this litter lives with a very nice family in Yellowknife, NT. She has a great set of parents and two sweet little girls to spoil her rotten.
I have just received a recent photo of Zoe, and I am thrilled to see what a beautiful adult she is maturing into!

"Cisco", our grey male, lives with my good friend Laura and her family, also in Yellowknife. Cisco is enjoying the company of his Uncle "Chakotay" along with Whiskey the Rotti, and Molly a sweet little mix breed.
We were happy to have Sisco and his family visiting here with us a few weeks ago.
He is a very nice dog, and will mature into a fine obedience contender.

"Hopper", one of our red males has left us to live with a great family in Edson, Alberta. He now has a new Mom & Dad and three kids of his very own to train.

To date I only have baby photos of Hopper and Jason (up to the age of 5 months). These can be viewed on our Photo Gallery Page, and I will add recent ones to their spots in this page when they becomes available.

"Jason", another of our red males now lives with a family right here in Edmonton. He has his very own bunkbed, a retriever, and a 13 year old to play with.

"Gem"....

Well, we all knew this day was going to come eventually......
but still, it is with a heavy heart that we announce Gem has left us to move on to her very own new family.
Gem now resides at Ravenmasque, in Ontario Canada, and is being loved and spoiled rotten by her new family.
(I'm sure she is also pestering her Daddy "Voodoo" and half sister "Robyn", the same way she did here with Sierra and Rocky. *grin*)
Gem is being trained in conformation and we are sure to see this lil gal tearin' up the show rings in the years to come. We all hope she goes on to do great things!
We love ya Gemmers!

We wish all of our puppies and their new families many years of happiness together, with lots of *hugs and wags* of course. *smile*

And this is "Chakotay" (SterlingDen Arctic Savar)
Chakotay is littermate to our Sierra, and proud uncle to our pups, Rocky, Gem, Sisco, Hopper, Zoe and Jason.
