LEIPZIG NSN - FOR SALE

Leipzig NSN, shown above at 2 weeks and 5 years, foaled April 29, 2016 is the twelfth foal out of our keur preferent foundation mare, Never Say Never , and what a stunning colt he is! Sire is Banderas (Balou du Rouet x Grannus x Beach Boy) - so bred to jump. He is a full sibling to Faust NSN and Hera NSN, both sold to wonderful homes, and Jax NSN, who sadly, was lost as a foal. This tall chestnut colt is already well muscled, correct, very bold, with a friendly personality. Leipzig NSN has lots of chrome with his blaze, two stockings, front and hind, and a hind sock. Thank-you Banderas for all that chrome! Thanks, Never Say Never, for consistently producing such wonderful sport horse prospects!

Leipzig NSN at three days of age.

Leipzig NSN at two weeks of age, showing his light-footed canter and athleticism.

Leipzig NSN, 3 weeks old, with his dam, our foundation mare, Never Say Never keur preferent.

At 2 years old, Leipzig has grown into a gelding of substance. This fellow is all power!

Leipzig or "Ziggy" was lightly backed as a 3 year-old. He is still growing, and quite butt high. This gelding was easy to back. He stands quietly to be mounted, and is a quick learner, eager to please. The engine is definitely in the hindquarters of this fellow. He drives off his hindquarters, stepping well underneath himself.

After fall, winter and spring off, Leipzig went back under saddle in June. He continues to amaze with his work ethic and athleticism. "Ziggy" is now mastering cantering with a rider on board, which he still had problems balancing last year at his awkward stage of growth. His canter is powerful, rhythmic, and balanced. He can adjust strides between poles with no effort. With increased muscling, Leipzig's trot has significant suspension. His walk has good length of stride, stepping well underneath and supple through the back. First jumps were introduced. Crossrails were treated as cavalettis. Leipzig did not think them worth the effort to jump. Only when given a vertical of 1.10 meters, did Leipzig realize what was expected. And he loved it! Work will continue mainly on the flat, with some gymnastics thrown in. This fellow really needs to find his future jumping partner!!

After the winter off, Leipzig NSN or "Ziggy", as we like to call him restarted his jumper training. Ziggy has really matured both physically and mentally in the past year. Careful not to overjump him, much work has been done on the flat to give this very special and talented gelding a solid foundation. He easily adjusts his stride and has a natural sense of spacial awareness - a real bonus in choosing his take-off point.Jump courses up to 1.10 meter have been introduced. Ziggy's scope has been tested up to a 1.3 meter oxer, which he cleared with no effort, but it did make him tighten his knees. He is very careful over jumps. This guy REALLY wants to jump!
