CardCaptors
The GemCaptor Chronicles

Last time on CardCaptors . . .

Last time, it had been raining since before the capture of the Gravity and Sand Gems, and it had yet to let up. Suspicion began to rise as the river begins to overflow from the access water. As the flood warning was issued, Sakura began sensing something very strange.
     “Wonder if it’s a Kayo Gem . . .”
She headed down to the river along with Madison, only to be attacked by a mysterious being who resembled a rain shaman.
“I was expecting the GemCaptor, but if you are allied with her then you must be eliminated too!”
After a long battle, Ceaira and Li finally joined the battle after Sakura finished weakening the shaman to his limit. Ceaira stepped forward and sealed the gem, but instead of going to her, it bounced away and landed in Sakura’s hand.
     “What the heck just happened?”
No matter how hard she tried, Ceaira could not get the gem out of Sakura’s hand. In the end, Aquilia came to the conclusion that since Sakura defeated Rain, then she was the one to possess the Rain Gem, which made Ceaira a little depressed. After some cheering up, the group decided to go out for ice cream. But is it really the time to celebrate?

Episode Nine

Comrades In Arms

"I'm so glad the Rain Gem is finally sealed!" "Sakura, that was a week ago!" "Oh yeah." The group laughed as they enjoyed an ice cream cone at Ceaira's house. It was a hot day so they decided to relax outside on her patio. "It's too hot today . . .and don't say this is nothing for you Ceaira . . ." "Actually I do find it pretty hot today . . ." We usually have a few hot days before November." "Thanks for the warning . . .good thing I still have my summer clothes unpacked." "Yeah." Ceaira nodded, but then frowned as she shook her glass of lemonade, causing the ice cubes to swirl around. Sakura frowned, then leaned back in the lawn chair. "You okay Ceaira?" "I guess so . . .still disappointed that I wasn't able to capture and keep Rain . . ." "Don't worry about it Ceaira. You'll defiantly catch the next one that appears!" "She'll have to, I know which one is next." "WHAT?!"
Everyone suddenly turned toward Aquilia, who was slowly snacking on another cupcake. Looking up after taking another bite, she swallowed what she had then frowned as she looked up at the sky. "Before I appeared out of the Kayo Chest, I saw the gems which flew out before transforming into beams of light. Remembering now, the first one's I've seen have been appearing in the order of their captures. However, the last one I could see was Windy. That was right after Rain, so that's how I know it's your next gem." "So how am I going to capture Windy then? What's it's form? How powerful is it?" "Hold it Ceaira!"
She gasped then looked up at Aquilia as she began to rose into the air. A silver aura surrounded her as she flew around the entire group. "I cannot answer your questions Ceaira. Ever since we've started, you've asked me how to capture the gems, never knowing what to do until it was nearly too late. This is an elemental gem like Firey and Watery. Therefore, you must do this alone. However, I'll give you one hint. You may use Firey and Watery because of their elemental powers, but you may only use one other gem. According to Clow Kayo, the third must be either Freeze, Amazon, or Dark. He planned this test, so you must do it on your own. That's all I am allowed to say . . ." "Oh . . ." Ceaira frowned, then looked back down at her glass and began swirling the ice around once again. "Only three gems are allowed . . ." "Right. Seeing as Windy is the third Elemental Gem, it requires three Kayo Gem comrades to capture it. You must choose the third ally carefully, as fate has declared the first two." "Hmm . . ." "Cheer up Ceaira. I know what you're going through." Ceaira gasped, then looked up and at Sakura, who smiled at her and pulled out the Water Card. "You know what this means?" "Yup! I had to go through it with the Water Card. Three years ago, I had only captured Windy, Fly, and Shadow when I had to encounter the Water Card. Kero had told me that I needed to choose two cards to use in unison in order to catch Water, which was at the aquarium at the time."
"You have to choose your own allies." Sakura frowned as she looked down at her three card of Windy, Fly, and Shadow. "Windy . . .Fly . . .Shadow . . .Windy, Shadow . . .Windy, Fly . . .Shadow . . .how do you capture Water?" That night, the three snuck into the aquarium to track down the card. Sakura leaped up onto the water tank and held her Sealing Wand above it. "Water card, if you're in here, come and get me!" Suddenly, a giant column of water rose form the tank and shot out toward her. Summoning Fly, she flew off through the aquarium, with Kero not too far behind. Streams of water shot out at her, all of them missing as she drew closer and closer to Madison's location. "Windy! Release and dispel!" After Windy's form appeared, it led the water into the next room, where it then revealed it's true form. Sakura quickly closed the door, and Windy proceeded to fan the cold air around what was the freezer room. Sakura fell to the ground and breathed a sigh of relief, while Kero was impressed. "You did it Sakura! You passed the test!" Opening the door, they discovered that Water was completely frozen, which allowed Sakura to seal it with no problem.
“Water was one of my first captures. It was hard, but because I chose the right allies, I was able to capture it without Kero’s help.” “That’s quite impressive for that stage.” “Thanks.” “I wasn’t even around at that time.” Ceaira smiled, showing she felt a little better. Turning toward the sky, she sighed to herself then laid on her back as she stared at the sky. “I hope I’m ready for this test . . .” “We’ll know when it’s time for Windy to appear.” "I guess so . . ." Ceaira smiled again, then frowned and stared into her glass of lemonade when she thought no one was looking.
Later that night, everyone was asleep as the clock's second hand ticked closer and closer to 2 AM. Ceaira however, was laying on her back, staring at the ceiling as she thought about the challenge she would soon have to face. "To defeat Windy, I need three comrades . . .Firey and Watery are a must, but the third comrade I have to choose on my own . . .and I can only use either Freeze, Amazon, and Dark. I remember all three of those captures . . .Amazon was my first one after I arrived here . . ." Sitting up, she looked out her window toward the radio tower, then closed her eyes as she began reminiscing. "She was hard to fight too . . .I remember after I had freed the others, it trapped me in it's vines, so tightly that I wasn't able to escape. It was a good thing Sakura had the Sword Card . . ."
Sakura leaped up and slashed at the dome three times, causing a section of it to fall to the ground and disappear. Just then, the rest of the dome seemed to shatter and disappear, leaving the woman and the girl out in the open. Sakura knew what she had to do, so she rushed forward and leaped into the air. She brought down her blade once again, this time cutting through the vines which ensnared the girl. She fell backwards as she was freed, and Sakura landed on her feet. The woman became very angry in seeing Sakura slash at her vines. She held her hand out and caused another storm of vines to appear from above. This time, the girl rushed forward and pushed Sakura out of the way. They both landed on the ground, and the woman became furious. The two stood up, and then the girl looked back toward the woman who was summoning more vines. "Fire, attack her now!" The bird agreed then breathed a wave of fire at the woman. She was hit hard, thus causing her to fall onto her knees. The girl smiled then held up the crossbow so it looked like she was going to fire. "Amazon Gem! Return to your power confined!" She fired a white light shaped like an arrow, which bursted in front of the woman and surrounded her. She then became a mass of energy as well, thus allowing her to be pulled into the white light. Both disappeared, leaving behind the jewel that released the force. It dropped to the ground, then bounced once toward the girl. She caught it and examined it. It had a green background, and the image was that of a frame of vines surrounding the woman.
"I would have been done for if it wasn't for them . . .after I revealed my identify, we had to fight the Freeze Gem at the reservoir . . .”
Suddenly, there was a loud howl, followed by the sounds of claws digging into the ice. They all stepped back from the edge of the reservoir, when suddenly large wolverine jumped up and landed on all fours on the platform. It has wild black fur and white eyes, with large fangs and claws. It howled then charged at the group. Sakura gasped, then summoned the Jump Card. She grabbed Li and Madison and leaped up to land on the top of a small building. Ceaira jumped up on her own and joined the others, while Kero and Aquilia flew after them.
"That wolverine defiantly tested our reflexes and battle power . . .especially when it started using it's powers . . ."
Ceaira nodded then closed her eyes, taking out the Fiery Gem and holding it above her. "Fiery Gem . . ." She then tossed it into the air and went into a spin, gripping her crossbow. Red energy began to gather around her and seeped into her crossbow as she chanted. "Shatter and dispel!" She then stopped and pointed her crossbow to the sky where the gem had risen to it’s highest peak. She then fired an arrow at the gem, which collided and forced it to shatter into a sparkling red light. It massed together and formed the firebird, which landed beside her and awaited her command. "Firebird, melt the ice which has Li and Sakura trapped!" The firebird nodded then breathed a wave of fire at the two. The ice slowly melted, and as it did, Ceaira smiled and looked to Aquilia. "All right. Now you can seal the gem!" "Okay!" She then turned to the wolverine, who was trying to chew it’s way through Amazon's vines. She made haste and aimed her crossbow. "Freeze Gem! Return to your power confined!" She fired a white arrow which soared across the platform. It then bursted into a white light before impact and wrapped around the wolverine. It then transformed into a dark blue energy, which merged with the white and disappeared. A small gem dropped to the ground and bounced over to Ceaira. She caught it with her left hand, then studied the image. On the gem was a picture of the wolverine howling toward the sky. In the corners of its confinement were ice shards pointing toward the beast.
Ceaira smiled, then placed her arms behind her head and rested it on them as she looked back up at the ceiling. However, she then frowned as she continued to recall her past captures. "Dark Gem . . .I can't believe how mind racking that was, good thing I was able to combine Firey and Watery . . ."
She gripped a gem in her left hand, to reveal it’s image to be a water serpent with two large waves on both sides. She then lowered the arm to the ground, then lifted it quickly as she tossed the gem above her head. She then held out her crossbow and left arm out in front of her and went into a spin as a sparkling blue energy surrounded her. "Watery Gem . . .Combine your powers with Firey and attack Dark!" She then pointed the crossbow up to the sky and held out her left arm to the side and quickly opened her eyes to see the gem reaching it’s vertical peak. "Watery! Shatter and dispel!" She pulled the trigger of the crossbow and a arrow flew up, followed by all the energy which surrounded her before. They both collided with the front of the gem, causing it to shatter into a sparkling blue light. It swirled around on the ground, until the large snake emerged and screeched into the black sky. Firey flew toward it, and Watery bursted into water just as Firey bursted into flames. The two merged together and shot forward, striking Dark with their combined force. After the energies disappeared, Dark fell over onto it’s side and released a moan of pain.
"I have to combine Amazon, Dark, or Freeze with Firey and Watery . . .this is so hard, am I really ready for this test?"
The next day, Ceaira finished locking up her bike, then began to slowly walk toward the school. Having a open notebook, she wrote each of the possible combinations over and over, drawing a giant X over each finished attempt. "I have to think of this carefully . . .Firey, Watery, Dark . . .no . . .Firey, Watery, Amazon . . .NO . . .Firey, Watery, Dark . . .ARRGH! Why can't I figure this out!?"
Ceaira's face turned fierce as she gripped her notebook and slammed it onto the ground. Standing in shock for a few moments, she suddenly dropped down onto the stairs and buried her face in her hands. "Why can't I figure it out . . .am I already losing my edge?" "Ceaira! Are you okay?!"
She suddenly looked up when she heard her name being called, then looked to the side to see her friend Kara sitting down beside her with a smile on her face. "Something wrong?" "Huh? What do you mean Kara?" Smiling, Kara leaned forward and picked up the notebook from the ground. She then handed it to Ceaira and smiled. "I was coming outside for a minute to see if you got here yet, and I saw you getting frustrated." "Oh . . .I was just trying to memorize a Math formula." "Yeah, the ones Mr. Azlai gives us are always confusing. I had him for math last year and it was the same thing." "I see." "Well, as long as it's just that."
Just then, the bell began to ring, then it stopped a few seconds later. Kara stood up from the steps and smiled, then picked up her case. "Good thing we have a free class first eh? Otherwise we'd get detention for being late." "Yeah." "Just keep something in mind Ceaira okay?" 'What's that?" "Just because you're the new student doesn't mean you have to keep everything to yourself. If you ever want someone to talk to, Yuuki, Hope, and myself are always willing to listen." "Okay, thanks Kara." "No problem. See ya in Drama!" Waving, she ran up the stairs, but turned back quickly and pointed to the notebook. "One more thing. Just think about the formula's very carefully before attempting to memorize them!" "Okay! I will!"
Ceaira smiled until she was out of view, then turned serious as she returned to her notebook. She opened to a new page, then grabbed her pencil and wrote out Dark, Freeze, and Amazon. "Okay . . .I'm going to figure this out!" At the bottom of the page, she wrote out Firey and Watery, then drew a line which joined the two together. "Okay, the third ally must be compatible with the other two . . .that must be the answer. Dark . . .that can't be it . . .Dark would destroy the light that Firey can make, therefore weakening it's powers." She drew a line through Dark, then sighed to herself as she moved onto Freeze. Thinking for a moment, she then began drawing a picture of Watery’s serpent form on the bottom of the page. “Freeze . . .that’s can’t be the right one . . .Watery would freeze from it’s powers, leaving it useless . . .” Drawing another line, she tapped her eraser against the notebook as she started at Amazon for a while, thinking about how it could play the most important role in the battle to come. “Amazon . . .wouldn’t she get hurt from Firey’s flames? Wow . . .this doesn’t make sense . . .” Drawing a line through Amazon, she closed her notebook and sighed to herself as she stood up and headed into the school. “How can I catch Windy using Dark, Freeze, or Amazon when a major negative affect keeps the combinations from working? It doesn’t make sense . . .” She opened her locker upon arriving at it, then placed her books inside along with her helmet. She then looked into her locker mirror and fixed her hair before closing it and turning around to head toward the library. As she slowly walked back down the hall, she began thinking of the conversation she had with Aquilia the night before.
“Aquilia, can’t you give me a clue as to which is the right gem?” The small bird shook her head back and forth as she was nestled into her favorite pillow on the bed. Ceaira had the five Kayo Gems in question between them, and she had her hands together as she appeared to be pleading. “A teeny little hint!?” “Ceaira . . .it wouldn’t be a test if I told you what to do . . .and I can’t choose your allies because my abilities and idea’s are different from yours.” “What is that supposed to mean Aquilia?” Ceaira frowned, then leaned forward and picked up the Firey and Watery Gems. Looking at the two, she then lowered her hands and looked down at the three gems in front of her and sighed. “I don’t understand . . .it’s still all so new to me . . .” Aquilia smiled, then ruffled her feathers and giggled to herself. “Oh Ceaira . . .everything is hard at first. That’s life. However, I still cannot help. You must choose the third comrade on your own. However . . .” “However?” Ceaira’s eyes lit up with hope and joy as Aquilia spoke the magical words. She then placed then gems back on the sheets and began bouncing up and down in joy. Aquilia cleared her throat, frowning at Ceaira’s actions. “HOWEVER . . .out of the three gems, you only have two chances. Should you fail, Windy will . . .umm . . .run away and never return, thus preventing you from ever capturing all the gems Ceaira.” “What?” That stopped Ceaira. She calmed down, then sat still once the bed stopped moving. She then looked at Aquilia with serious eyes. “Are you serious?” “That’s the reality of the test. There is no room for error. If you fail to choose the right gem, then you’ll never have another chance.” “Oh . . .” Ceaira frowned as she brought her legs up and hugged them tightly, looking down at the five gems. “My own comrades . . .”
Returning to reality, Ceaira walked into the library and sighed to herself as she thought about the test. Walking over to a bookshelf, she removed a small textbook with a dragon on the cover, then sat down at an empty table and started reading it.
Later at lunch, Ceaira was sitting under a large tree in the schoolyard, still reading the same book as before. She stopped momentarily to take a sip of her can of cola through a straw, then sighed to herself as she went back to reading. Just then, Mujaki walked over and sat down beside her with a serious expression on his face. He had dark blue hair due to a type of dye, and as well he had green eyes. Pulling his lunch out, he unwrapped a sandwich and ate a piece of it. After swallowing it, he looked at Ceaira again and frowned. “Hey Cea, you okay?”
Being startled, Ceaira looked up from her book and saw Mujaki smiling warmly. She smiled back, then placed her book on the ground and nodded. “Yeah, actually I’m kind of having a small problem Mujaki.” “So what is it?” “Well, you could say I’m at a crossroad in life right now. There’s three different choices, but if I don’t make the right one then it could affect my future for the worst.” “Wow, that’s pretty bad.” “Yeah, I need help . . .but I don’t think anyone can.” “Well, can I offer at least one piece of advice?” “What’s that Mujaki?” “Don’t listen to anyone but your own conscious. It will tell you which way is right.” “Thanks Mujaki . . .that’s some pretty good advice.” “No problem. Now then, I got a question for you.” “And that is?” “How about a date this Saturday?” “What?! Mujaki, that’s such a stupid question, you know I have a boyfriend!” Totally angry, Ceaira jumped up from the ground, picked up her belongings, then stormed off back toward the building. Mujaki watched her leave, then sighed to himself as he frowned and finished his sandwich. “Attempt #256 has failed . . .looks like I owe Yuuki twenty dollars . . .”
Later that day, Kero was over at Aquilia’s house, enjoying a tray of cupcakes and pudding as they discussed the current situations which threw off the once ordinary lives of their human friends. Kero smiled after swallowing a mouthful of the pudding, then rubbed his stomach with his paw while Aquilia took a bite out of a cupcake with yellow frosting. “Never have I had such excellent pudding!” “Misuteri gets plenty of practice when it comes to baking sweet things. It’s became he and Ceaira have me around.” “Speaking of Ceaira, has she figured out which Gem she has to use with Firey and Watery?” “Well . . .” Aquilia shook her head and frowned as she nestled into the pillow more, then looked over to the Kayo Chest and sighed. “She still cannot figure it out. I’m worried as to what will happen if she makes the wrong choices. She only has two chances after all . . .” “So what will happen if she chooses the wrong two?” “Umm . . .well, you see . . .”
Aquilia lowered her head and closed her eyes as she continued to frown. Kero blinked from curiosity, then crossed his arms as he waited for an answer. “Well?” “I didn’t tell Ceaira the truth about what would happen. I told her Windy would simply flee and never return if she failed . . .but the actuality is, if she fails to choose the correct one, all of the Kayo Gems in her possession will lose all power, and she will lose her powers as well. As a result, Windy will destroy her. I couldn’t tell her the truth because there is too much pressure for her to face already.” “Man, Sakura never had to deal with her own destruction ever . . .just losing all her memories of everything and everyone a while ago.” “I fear for Ceaira’s life Kero . . .” “It’s okay Aquilia. Ceaira’s a tough Captor, and very smart too. She’ll be able to figure this out with no problem at all!” “You really think so?” “Of course!” Aquilia’s eyes sparkled with hope as Kero nodded his head and smiled. She then jumped up from her pillow and flew over to him, wrapping her wings around him to hug him. “Thank you Kero! You’re such a good friend! Thanks for cheering me up.” “No problem Aquilia.”
“So Mujaki comes over to me near the end of lunch hour with a frown on his face, and hands me twenty dollars.” “Really? Why?” Ceaira’s stopped on the sidewalk as she walked her bike along side Yuuki, who was holding her case behind her head, which caused her to have her elbows pointing upward as she walked. She had short blond hair, and light blue eyes. Out of Ceaira, Kara, Hope and herself, Yuuki was the brave member of their group, and always made bets and dares with everyone in sight. She stopped, then brought her arms down and placed her left hand on her hip and smiled. “Didn’t you say he tried to ask you out?” “Yeah . . .why?” “I made a bet that you’d say no again! I was confident because I know how much you care about Tori.” Ceaira blinked, then blushed in deep shade of red as she smiled. “Yeah, he’s an awesome guy.” “I knew it! You’re so much in love with him Ceaira!” “Well, I’m not the only one who’s in love. I just found out Kara has a crush on Mujaki.” “No way! Get out of town!” Yuuki stopped and widened her eyes, shocked to hear what Ceaira had said as the two reach the street corner. “Kara likes Mujaki? This is a major event! We’ve gotta try and set those two up!” “It might not work Yuuki.” “Why not?” As the light changed, the two crossed the street along with a few other people from their school. Once on the other side, they stopped and Ceaira placed a finger to her chin as she held the handle of her bike with her other hand. “Mujaki’s interested in me remember? Until he loses interest, Kara will have a tough time getting him to notice her.” “I guess you’re right Ceaira. Well, this is where I leave. Talk to you tomorrow.” “Bye Yuuki.”
The two waved, then Ceaira jumped onto her bike and rode down the hill toward her subdivision. She slowed down when she reached the stables, for she was hoping to see if any horses were out that day. She pulled over, then placed her bike on the ground, and then leaned on the railing of the fence as she watched a white stallion gallop by gracefully. “What a beautiful horse!” Smiling, she continued to watch the horse, until it stopped and spotted her. It then slowly trotted over to her, causing he to step back from the fence. It stared at Ceaira for a few moments before she finally walked over to it. “Hey there buddy. You’re such a beautiful horse.” She reached out her hand to pet it, when it reared back and cried out, bringing it’s hooves down onto the fence, thus breaking it. Ceaira stumbled backwards and fell onto the ground in shock, then looked up at the horse, then cried out in shock when it sprouted a pair of wings from it’s back, and a star symbol between it’s eyes. “A Kayo Gem! It must be Windy!” Getting up, she grabbed her bicycle and hopped on, speeding off to lead what was now a Pegasus, away from the stables and to a place where she would be able to fight it. Jumping into the air, the Pegasus unfolded it’s wings and took flight, giving chase to Ceaira.
After a few minutes, Ceaira looked behind her and saw that the Pegasus was right behind her. Letting out a ferocious cry, it kicked it’s front hooves forward, causing Ceaira to be hit hard. She lost control of the bike, causing her to fall off and roll down a hillside before coming to a stop. Knowing she had no other choice, she grabbed her pendant and held it in front of her. She then placed her hands together to conceal the pendant from view. She then closed her eyes and began her incantation. “Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!” A blue light appeared, causing her to open her eyes. She pulled her hands apart and the blue arrow rose upward. It then became engulfed in a sphere of light blue energy. Streams of the same energy appeared then flowed into the pendant, which then began to morph. Ceaira then leaped up and stopped in front of the finished product of the metamorphosis; her crossbow. She grabbed it then fell back toward the ground.
Upon landing, Ceaira turned around and faced the Pegasus, who was now hovering in the air. With a large flap of it’s massive wings, it sent a large gust of wind at her which knocked her over and caused her to roll a few feet. She recovered quickly and rose from the ground, throwing a gem into the air. She then held up her crossbow and took aim. “I guess it’s time for my test to begin. Firey, shatter and dispel!” She pulled the trigger and shot the gem, causing it to shatter and take the form of the large firebird. Letting out a loud screech, Firey breathed a large wave of fire toward Windy, but it was able to dodge quickly. It then reared back and charged, landing a head butt right in Firey’s chest. Spinning out of control, Firey landed on the ground and let out a weakened cry as it attempted to get up. “Firey!” Ceaira jumped up from the ground and raced over to the giant firebird as it laid on it’s side. She placed her hand on it’s beak and rubbed it gently. “Are you okay Firey? Say something!” Letting out a weakened cry, Firey lifted it’s head and looked at her with tear filled eyes. “You need help . . .don’t worry, I know how. Hope this spell Aquilia taught me works without my arm guards. . .” She breathed in deeply, then placed her other hand on Firey’s beak. Closing her eyes, her hands began to glow as she began to chant. “Ancient powers heed my cry, allow the force to fly! Starlight Healing!”
A bright rainbow colored light appeared from below Firey, then surrounded it. After seeping into it’s body, it rose from the ground and cried out with joy as it felt totally refreshed. Ceaira smiled, but turned serious when she turned to face Windy, who had just landed on the ground. She then looked back up at Firey and opened the slot in her crossbow to take out another gem. “Want some help!?” Screeching to agree, Firey unfolded it’s massive wings and took flight once more. Ceaira gripped the gem, then tossed it into the. “Watery shatter and dispel!” Shooting another arrow, it collided and shattered the gem into many sparkling pieces of blue energy, which then massed together to form the giant water serpent.
Windy reared back, kicking it’s hooves in the air, causing Firey and Watery to slowly back up. Ceaira frowned, then held her crossbow to the sky as she glared at the Pegasus. “Firey! Watery! Combine your powers and strike!” The two forms looked back at her, then nodded to comply with her command. As they charged forward, Ceaira closed her eyes and pictured the three gems in question inside her mind. They hovered side by side against the darkness and spun around slowly to reveal the order being Dark, Amazon, and Freeze. As she pictured them, a transparent image of herself appeared with her eyes still closed. “Okay . . .now to choose my third ally . . .but which is it? Each of them affects the well being of the two chosen allies, and they can get hurt themselves . . .but if they’re the chosen ones, then I have to make my choice. If not, I’ll never catch Windy.” Her eyes suddenly flashed open, causing two gems to disappear. As it fell from the slot in her crossbow, it was revealed she would attempt to try Freeze first. “Maybe it can slow down Windy with it’s cold mist.”
She gripped a gem in her left hand, to reveal it’s image to be a wolverine howling toward the sky. She then lowered the arm to the ground, then lifted it quickly as she tossed the gem above her head. She then held out her crossbow and left arm out in front of her and went into a spin as a sparkling clear light energy surrounded her. “Freeze Gem . . .create a cold mist to slow down Windy” She then pointed the crossbow up to the sky and held out her left arm to the side and quickly opened her eyes to see the gem reaching it’s vertical peak. “Freeze Gem! Shatter and dispel!”She pulled the trigger of the crossbow and a arrow flew up, followed by all the energy which surrounded her before. They both collided with the front of the gem, causing it to shatter into a sparkling clear blue light.
From the sky, a strange mist descended from the sky, and surrounded the entire battlefield. Windy cried out and slowly fell to the ground as it’s wings began to freeze over. Ceaira jumped up and cheered, but then looked to her comrades and gasped as she saw that Watery was beginning to freeze as well. “Oh no . . .Freeze return to your power confined!” Closing her eyes tightly, she raised her crossbow and fired, causing the mist to mass together to reform the gem. It fell into her hand, and she placed it back into the slot and closed her eyes once again, leaving Firey to thaw out the ice. In her mind, the scene reappeared, only now the gems of Dark and Amazon spun slowly as her transparent image reappeared. “Freeze was wrong . . .which means I only have once change to choose the correct gem . . .concentrate Ceaira . . .you can do this. Heck, you HAVE to do this!” She let out a sigh, then placed her index and middle fingers together, then brought them up to her face as she thought about the situation. “Dark will put out Firey’s light . . .but Firey will hurt Amazon . . .wait a minute . . .vines naturally have water in them!” Suddenly, her hand was removed her face and her eyes flashed open. The Dark Gem disappeared from sight, along with her image, to leave behind the Amazon Gem. Opening the slot, it fell out into her hand. She then looked toward the battle to see Firey and Watery battling Windy. She glared at the Pegasus before beginning her magic.
She gripped a gem in her left hand, to reveal it’s image to be a woman surrounded by a frame of vines. She then lowered the arm to the ground, then lifted it quickly as she tossed the gem above her head. She then held out her crossbow and left arm out in front of her and went into a spin as a sparkling green energy surrounded her. “Amazon Gem . . .join with Watery and Firey to stop Windy!” She then pointed the crossbow up to the sky and held out her left arm to the side and quickly opened her eyes to see the gem reaching it’s vertical peak. “Amazon Gem! Shatter and dispel!”She pulled the trigger of the crossbow and a arrow flew up, followed by all the energy which surrounded her before. They both collided with the front of the gem, causing it to shatter into a sparkling green light.
A barrage of vines shot out from the ground all around Windy, forming a frame which seemed to resemble a cage. Firey and Watery nodded to each other, then bursted into their own elemental energies and joined with the vines to create the walls. Ceaira gasped with joy when she realized the three together had formed a cage to contain Windy. She could hear the sounds of the Pegasus slamming against the walls, but they remained standing as they glowed with red and blue energy.
Smiling, Ceaira twirled her crossbow over her head, then hunched down and took off, running toward the cage. She leaped up just as she began her incantation. “Windy Gem! Return to your power confined!” When she was right above the cage, she held her crossbow downward and fired, causing the arrow to fly toward the structure. At the last second, the forms of Firey, Watery, and Amazon reappeared and jumped back, allowing Windy to be hit by the arrow’s light. The two merged and began transforming as Ceaira landed on the ground with her back facing the light. After it disappeared, a gem appeared and bounced over to her to land in her hand. She stood up, then placed it in her crossbow as she turned to face the others. “Thank you for your help . . .I’m very grateful.” She smiled and bowed while Firey, Watery, and Amazon did the same. They then stood upright and glowed, transforming back into their own separate gems which then turned into balls of energy. They flew over to her crossbow and entered the slot, which closed right afterwards. Ceaira smiled once again, then allowed her crossbow to transform back into the pendant, which she grabbed and replaced around her neck. “That was a tough capture . . .don’t think I’ll be biking the rest of the way . . .” She wiped the sweat away from her forehead, then turned around and headed back toward the hill where her bike was lying on the ground at the top.
That night, Ceaira tied her hair into a ponytail, then exited the bathroom and walked back toward her room. Upon entering, she closed the door and walked over to her bed. Aquilia looked at her from her swing and smiled. “So how was your day today?” “Exhausting.” “How so?” “Well . . .” Ceaira smiled, then pulled up the covers as she sat up in the bed. She then removed her pendant and placed it on her necklace rack, then turned back to the small budgie. “Well, I spent the entire day trying to figure out the correct gem, then at lunch Mujaki tried to ask me out again. He should know I have a boyfriend!” “Then what?” “Hmm . . .I walked with Yuuki for a while, then got attacked by Windy when I stopped at the fenced meadow.” “WHAT!?” “Yeah, I got into battle, then summoned the three correct gems which formed a cage around it. My third comrade was Amazon!” “You did it!? Oh Ceaira I’m so proud of you!” “Thanks Aquilia.” Ceaira suddenly placed her hand over her mouth as she let out a loud yawn, then looked over at her clock. She rubbed her eyes, then laid down and turned the lamp off. “Windy’s in the Kayo Chest if you wanna see.” “You bet I do! Good night Ceaira.” “Night Aquilia . . .”
As Ceaira fell asleep, Aquilia smiled then flew over to the chest. It opened slowly on it’s own, allowing her to jump up and perch herself on the edge. On top of the stack was Windy, which showed the image of the Pegasus surrounded by streams of wind as it seemed to fly through the sky.

Kero's Corner

“Hey there Card fans! It’s once again time for Kero’s corner and today’s segment talks about the Kayo Gems!”
Kero then turns on the small TV to show Ceaira holding the Amazon Gem as she prepared to summon it.
“Sakura’s card are powerful, but at least some of them are friendly! Many of the Kayo Gems which Ceaira must recapture are dangerous to EVERYONE IN THE AREA!”
He then changes the channel to show a picture of the Amazon and Firey Gem.
“Basically each gem has a gold outline with a gold back as well. The images on the front show the Japanese symbol, the gem’s form, and the name in English at the bottom.”
Kero smiled then flies closer until his face is almost right up again the camera lens.
     “And now, check out this!”
He changes the channel once again to show.
“On the back of the gems a letter will be written to show who captured and signed the Gem. Most have a C to show Ceaira has ownership, but in the case of Rain, an S is imprinted to show Sakura is its master.”
Kero smiled, then turned to a stove where he was cooking a pot of soup. He grabbed the spoon and began stirring it around.
“Ceaira’s quest as you know is to capture all of them. But if most are like the ones she’s already encountered, then the entire gang has their work cut out for them. That’s all for now. See ya!”
He waves then samples the soup as the scene fades out.
