CardCaptors
The GemCaptor Chronicles

Last time on CardCaptors . . .

Last time, the gang relaxed on a hot day, where they talked about the Rain Gem’s capture. Soon afterward, Aquilia revealed the next gem was Windy. However . . .
"You may use Firey and Watery because of their elemental powers, but you may only use one other gem. The third must be either Freeze, Amazon, or Dark. You must choose the third ally carefully."
As Ceaira recalled her captures and what role each of the chosen gems played in other battles, she became frustrated. On her way home from school the next day, she found a large Pegasus, which attacked her right away. She summoned Firey and Watery to battle while she concentrated on her test.
"Now to choose my third comrade!"
Thinking carefully, she first chose Freeze, but Watery suffered so she called it back. Finally figuring out which was right, she summoned the Amazon Gem, which teamed up with the others to form a elemental cage which trapped Pegasus inside. Now that she passed her test, will the quest to get back all of the Kayo Gems become any easier?

Episode Ten

Out of Bounds

"Huddle around girls! Practice is over."
Everyone smiled as they wiped their foreheads dry, then sat down on the gymnasium floor. Sakura sat with Nikki and Chelsea as Miss Mackenzie walked over, holding a volleyball under her arm. She then smiled, then tossed the ball to a student on the floor. "I'm so proud of all of you. Practices have been very excellent for the past few days, so my confidence in winning our first game of the season this Saturday, has shot up greatly." "Who are we against Miss Mackenzie?" "West Reidenton High." "Didn't they get knocked out early last year?" "According to my memory . . .yes, but that doesn't mean you should underestimate them. They could have found stronger and faster players for the team this year. Always remain focused and do you best. Okay?" "Yeah!" "Alright, practice is officially over. Get plenty of rest for tomorrow! Sakura?"
Suddenly stopping before walking into the locker room, Sakura turned around to see Miss Mackenzie asking her to come over. Nodding, she walked over, then jumped up onto the stage and sat down. "Yes Miss Mackenzie?" "How goes the GemCaptoring?" "Pretty good, although one of the gems went to me, and that disappointed Ceaira. Fortunately, she perked up again after capturing Windy yesterday!" "Well that's good. I hope she doesn't mind having me as her Math teacher next semester." "She probably won't mind, and if she senses something then I'll just tell her how you played a role three years ago." "Okay Sakura, sounds good. So think you'll be ready for the game?" "Of course!" "Just remember, stay focused." "I know, but just one question Miss Mackenzie, considering this is you we're talking about. Does you becoming the volley-ball coach after my joining the team have to do with the Kayo Gems, or a specific one at least?" "Umm . . .none I can think of right now . . ." "Okay, just asking. I'm going to go home now, bye Miss Mackenzie!" "Good luck at the game Sakura." Smiling, Sakura headed back to the locker room and waved, then entered. Miss Mackenzie walked over to the volleyball rack, then placed the one she was holding on the top shelf and began pushing it into the storage room.
"Okay kid, you have to tell Sakura you like her before it's too late!" "I can't!" "Why not?" Bored and wanting some company, Li invited Sakura, Kero, and Madison over for supper that night at his place. While Wei was preparing the meal, Kero and Madison were taking to Li about his situation with Sakura before she arrived. "I have to wait for the right opportunity, otherwise she'll get scared and possibly hate me for the rest of our lives." "But how do you know what will happen?" "Umm . . .it's a fear really." Kero groaned, then lowered his gaze to the floor as he hovered in the air. Madison simply shook her head back and forth as she leaned into the couch. "Well you don't have to be afraid. I'm sure Sakura won't get scared. You'll get a fair chance as long as you remain calm." "I guess so . . ." Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. The three looked up, then Li turned to the kitchen to hear Wei shouting to him. "Master Li, please answer the door!" "Okay!"
Li jumped up from the bean bag chair and walked past Kero who quickly flew over toward the chair at the same time as Madison had jumped up and dove for it. The knocking continued, which caused Li to frown. "I'm coming! Yeesh . . .some people are just plain impatient." Arriving at the door, he looked through the peep hole to see Sakura waiting patiently at the door. Li suddenly started to blush, then turned around to look back into the apartment. "Wei! Sakura's here!" "Okay Master Li!" After he knew his face had returned to it's normal color, he opened the door and Sakura walked in, carrying a sports bag on her right side. She placed it at the door, then removed her shoes. "How's it going Li?" "Not too bad. Supper should be ready soon." "Okay." Smiling, Sakura pulled on a pair of slippers then walked into the den, where she suddenly acquired an odd expression when she saw Madison and Kero fighting over the bean bag chair. "Ooooooooooookay . . .now I’ve seen everything." “Hey Sakura!” “What is going on? That’s my bean bag chair!” “Well it’s mine now, so tell Kero to go sit on the pillow.” “Oh Madison . . .”
Kero frowned as everyone else laughed, then he flew over to a blue pillow on the floor and curled up like a cat. He shot a glare at Madison before resting his head on his paws. Sakura walked over and sat down on the couch along with Li as the four began talking again. “So how was volley-ball?” “Pretty good, but you are not going to believe who signed up as the new coach.” “What? You sound excited. Tell me! Is it a hot guy?” “If Sakura talks in that tone, it’s either a hot guy or an old friend.” “It’s Miss Mackenzie!” “WHAT!? The last time she was here she deliberately kept the judgment a secret, which almost cost Sakura all of her memories!” “I know, but she’s not directly involved with the Kayo Gems, I asked. Miss Mackenzie knows about them, but she can’t sense them. However, she knows they’re here, and she knows about Aquilia. That, and she’s just back because she likes Reidenton.” “Thank goodness.” “Master Li! Supper is ready!” “We’re coming Wei!”
Everyone cheered then jumped up from their places to head into the kitchen. They each grabbed a seat as Wei placed a large bowl of spaghetti in the center of the table, then sat down along with the others. Seeing as Kero wasn’t able to scoop up some spaghetti for himself, Sakura grabbed the spoon and placed a small amount into his bowl. Kero cheered, then stuck his head into the spaghetti as he began eating it. Everyone laughed, then returned to their own meals. “I’ve been thinking about all the events . . .” “Why Sakura?” “I don’t know . . .but it seems weird that I’ve the only one out of us who’s been having dreams about them.” “Yeah . . .you’re right. The Lasin Board isn’t able to track any of the gems it seems. Must be a curse Clow Kayo put on it or something.” “Maybe Ceaira can remove it sometime.” “At least try anyway. We don’t know how strong her magic is.” “Well I think she said that she’s been training for about twelve years.” “Yeah.” “Oh, this talk about magic reminds me! Kero!”
Suddenly, the little beast looked up from his meal, revealing tomato sauce all over his fur. Madison giggled and Wei laughed as Sakura cleared her throat. “Miss Mackenzie asked me something after I changed, but before I left. She wants you, Yue and Aquilia to meet her at the radio tower at midnight.” “Midnight? Why?” “She has matters to discuss with you two she said. Matters which don’t concern me or the Sakura Cards. She also needs to meet Aquilia.” “Hmm . . .the radio tower . . .it’s been a long time since anyone of us went to the radio tower for any reason.” “Yeah, it’s been since Yue’s judgment . . .”
Everyone frowned, especially Sakura for she didn’t want to think about what would have happened if she had failed for good. They all then perked up and began talking about the daily events, but Kero stayed out of the conversation, thinking about why Miss Mackenzie needed to speak to him, and why she needed to meet Aquilia.
Later that night, the moon was completely full as the radio tower stood against it. Kero flew through the sky, thinking about the past as Aquilia flapped her wings to keep up beside him. “So who is this Miss Mackenzie Kero?” “You’ll find out Aquilia.” “Please tell me? You know I hate being left in suspense.” “That’s why I won’t tell you!” Kero smiled, then turned serious as he looked up ahead. The two landed on the railing of the radio tower platform and looked around, but Aquilia was still upset at Kero. “You haven’t changed much Kero.” “Nope!” “If I was able to transform back into my real form then I’d show you a thing or two!”
Just then, they heard footsteps against the metal floor. Looking to the right, Kero smiled as Miss Mackenzie and Yue walked toward them. Aquilia tilted her head to the side as she watched them. “Is she Miss Mackenzie? Who is the other guy?” “That’s Yue. He’s Sakura’s other guardian and he represents the moon.” “I see.” Aquilia nodded, then looked over to the two once they stopped walking. Miss Mackenzie smiled, then Kero nodded and leaped up into the air, his body glowing in a golden light. He became a large golden lion with white wings, wearing a helmet encrusted with a large red sun shaped ruby. Landing on the ground, he held out his paw to Miss Mackenzie and the two shook. “It’s good to see you again Keroberos.” “And it’s a pleasure to see you again as well Layla. Now what do you need to speak to us about?” “Consider this, a meeting of the Guardian’s Council. We’re all guardians of one of the two chosen captors, and we watch over their comrades.” “But what specific reason is it tonight?” “Many reasons. For one thing, Yue and I need to learn more about Clow Kayo and the Kayo Gems. Second, I needed to meet and give Aquilia a piece of important information.” “So what do you need to tell me?” “I know Ceaira must of gotten you for her guardian, seeing as I could sense your presence. However, you must know there is a second guardian for her. All captors need two guardians.” “Who are they?” “Her name is Sabaki. However, I know little about her at this time.” “What a drag.” Kero nodded as Aquilia sighed from sadness. Yue crossed his arms and leaned against the metallic wall as he stared up at the full moon with a serious face. “If you don’t mind people, maybe we should start talking about the Kayo Gems.” “Yue, why can’t you ever loosen up?” “I’m a guardian. I stay focused unlike yourself Keroberos.”
Kero growled at Yue as he closed his eyes. Miss Mackenzie simply smiled, then walked over to the railing and looked out at the town. “I admit I lied to Sakura about some things concerning the Kayo Gems. I cannot sense specific ones, but I know they’re here. Sabaki is no where in the city, so she must be in another country. But I’ve talked enough. Aquilia, why don’t you tell us about the Kayo Gems and Clow Kayo?” “Very well Miss Mackenzie.” Aquilia nodded, then ruffled her feathers as she cleared her throat to begin telling all she knew.
Ceaira was running through a dark alley as the moon hung in the sky. She dawned her battle costume and was carrying her crossbow as she ducked and wove around trash cans and low ladders. As she made her way out into the open, she tripped on a risen piece of concrete, causing her to fall and roll a few feet before coming to a stop. She slowly got to her feet and looked back to see a shadowed stranger walking toward her casually, holding an object in her right hand which seemed to reflect the light from the moon. The being laughed, then leaped up into the air to land on the radio tower. There, Ceaira saw the being had rainbow colored hair down to the shoulders, and that the object was an off looking hand mirror. Squinting her eyes, she saw two other forms standing near the being. One appeared human, only it had dragon wings. The other being seemed like a large bird with long tail feathers that glittered in the moonlight. Ceaira watched them for a few moments, but then the bird jumped up and flew away from the area. The other two beings snickered, causing her to become nervous. Suddenly, one of them summoned a spear, while the other held the mirror out. Ceaira was suddenly sent flying through the air when a beam of energy shot out and struck the ground on front of her. As she landed on her back, her crossbow slid away from her. As she rolled over onto her side to try and get it, a foot suddenly slammed down onto her wrist. Looking up, she saw the being with the dragon wings pointing its spear down at her. As it brought it down, Ceaira screamed and sat up, taking a minute to recover from the fear. Looking around, she sighed to herself as she found herself back in her room. Groaning, she fell back onto her pillow and started at the ceiling. “What was that all about . . .and why did have to happen on a Saturday morning?”
“I am so psyched about the game tonight!” Sakura ate her supper quickly as Tori, Julian, and Aiden stared at her nervously, for she never seemed to eat that way before. Tori smirked to himself, then scooped up some rice into his chopsticks and then looked back at Sakura. “You sure you don’t want to eat any faster Squirt?” “Careful Sakura, or you’ll choke on the rice.” “I won’t choke on the rice Julian, don’t worry.” Sakura smiled, then continued to eat quickly as the others ate slowly. Tori thought of something, then turned to Julian. “You taught her well in the way’s of lunch mode eh?” “I guess I have.” The three adults chuckled, then continued to eat just as they saw Sakura walking into the kitchen with her empty dishes. The sounds of them being placed in the sink were heard, followed by footsteps as Sakura came out and headed for the stairs. “I’m going to go in a few minutes! Are you guys coming by later?” “Of course we are sweetie! It’s your first game!” “I just can’t wait for the Squirt to klutz out in front of everyone.” “Keep it up Tori and I’ll hit you with the volleyball!” “She got you there Tori!” Julian chuckled as he ate another bit of rice, while Tori crossed his arms and frowned.
“Over here Li!” Madison waved her arms back and forth as she stood from the bleachers to signal Li, who was looking through the crowd. He waved back then hurried over and climbed the sitars. After sitting down, he looked down at the court as West Reidenton was on the floor warming up for the game. “Madison, have you seen Sakura yet?” “She’s in the locker room with the other players waiting for WRHS to finish warming up.” Madison then turned back to the floor and lifted her video camera. Li gave Madison an odd look as he pointed a finger at the camera. “Are you surgically attached to that equipment or something?” “No, but I’m taping this for the team so they can study how West Reidenton plays. I’m in charge of recording sports games along with being president of CPC.” “Not to mention taping the gem captures and making Sakura her battle costumes.” “Well, I’ve only made three so far remember?” “I know.” Li nodded in response, then looked back down at the floor, then back at Madison. “I want to try and tell her how I feel about her before the game.” “You’re serious?!” “Yeah, but I don’t want to go into the locker room, I’ll get my head bitten off or something. So I was wondering . . .” “If I could get Sakura to come out so you can talk to her?” “Exactly.” “Sure!” Madison smiled, then stood up as she and Li headed down from the bleachers and toward the locker room. They had left their belongings there just so no one would take their seats.
Ceaira waited at the street corner just as the lamppost flickered on. Looking up, she smiled as she looked down at her watch. “I hope I won’t be too late . . .good thing Li and Madison are there already.” She then crossed the street as the light turned green. She was wearing a black turtleneck and navy blue jeans, with dark blue sneakers, red gloves and a red scarf wrapped around her neck. She held onto a black strap which was attached to a purse like backpack hanging by her side. When she reached the other side, she continued down the hill, crossing her arms in front of her. “Sure got cold fast . . .” Shivering, Ceaira continued to walk down the street until she suddenly stopped. Looking up ahead, she saw a strange light emitting from the park. “What is that . . .could it be another one?” Nodding to herself, she placed two of her fingers on front of her face. After closing her eyes, a mass of energy appeared in front of her and floated around like a mist as she began chanting to herself. “Kayo Gem's ancient force, show to me the correct course. Gate of Vision heed my plea, show to me this gem’s form before it should flee!” Suddenly, the mist formed a mirror like shape, which rippled as Ceaira’s eyes opened. Within the rippling energy, she could see a dark green kangaroo like creature jumping around in the park. A transparent image appeared next of a Kayo Gem with the image of the kangaroo appearing like it’s at the peak of a jump. Written in the gold ribbon design was “The Jump”. When the image and gate disappeared, Ceaira’s eyes narrowed as she looked toward the park. “The Jump Gem . . .one of the most valuable ones. I might need the others . . .” Nodding, she removed her backpack and removed a blue cell phone with the symbol of the sun at the top, and the star symbol on the back. Dialing a number, she placed to the phone and waited for an answer. “I hope Madison is near her cell phone . . .”
Around the same time at the school, Li waited outside of the locker room while Madison was inside getting Sakura. A few minutes later, the two walked out and Li’s face suddenly turned a dark shade of red as he started to get nervous. All Madison could do was cover her mouth as she started to giggle at the two. “Well, I’m gonna go back to the bleachers and get the camera ready for the game. Later you two!” Waving and giggling, Madison turned and ran off to head back toward the bleachers, leaving Sakura and Li by themself near the locker room entrance. After a long awkward pause of silence, Sakura finally cleared her throat and smiled, causing Li to become more nervous than before. “So . . .” “Umm, good luck in the game Sakura.” “Thanks Li, that’s very nice of you . . .umm . . .” “Uhh . . .”
Madison couldn’t help but laugh as she watched the two struggle to talk to each other in their situation. As she calmed down, she heard a quiet ring coming from somewhere. She picked up her backpack and opened it, pulling out the ringing cell phone. “Wonder who’s calling . . .” Pressing one of the buttons, Madison held up the phone to her ear and cleared her throat. “Hello, Madison Taylor speaking.” “Madison, it’s Ceaira!” “Oh hey Ceaira, how are you-” “No offense or anything Madison, but there’s no time for small talk. There’s a Kayo Gem in the park and I might need help. It’s Jump.” “What? This is bad, Sakura’s volleyball game is going to start soon!” “Then see if Li can come help me! I don’t know how elusive Jump is going to be and I want to play it safe because if Sakura’s advice has told me one thing, that is Jump is going to be valuable if I can capture it!” “Okay, I’ll get Li for you and tell him to hurry.” “Thanks Madison.”
“So, Madison said you wanted to talk to me about something important?” Li nodded, placing his hand on the back of his head as he felt his face turning red again. “It’s very important that you know-” Suddenly, Madison jumped in between the two, causing Li to jump back and Sakura to be startled. “Sorry to interrupt but this is a Kayo Gem emergency! Ceaira’s on her way to battle Jump! She wants to go the cautious route and asked me to ask you if you could be there to help her if she needs it Li!” “Okay. I really wanted to see the first game of the season and support our friends, but this is more important.” “Good luck with the Jump Gem!” “Huh? Why would we need luck? It’s just Jump.” Sakura looked at Li with puzzled eyes, then broke into giggles along with Madison. He gave them an odd look as they attempted to calm down. “What?” “Trust me Li, you’ll need all the luck you can get.” “Okay . . .be back later!” Li sighed to himself, but before he left, Sakura grabbed his wrist and handed him the Wood and Jump Card. He looked at her totally puzzled, then back down at the card. “You and Ceaira might need these ones. Playing it safe right?” “Good point Sakura. See both of you later.” Li placed the cards in his pocket, then turned to ran off and out of the building. Sakura watched as he left, then looked as Miss Mackenzie signaled for her team to get out onto the floor to warm up. She closed her eyes, then sighed to herself as she ran over to their coach. “Good luck to you both.”
“Source of light with ancient spin, send forth the magical power within . . .” Li removed and threw the pendant up to the sky. It started to glow, then began transforming as he continued the incantation. “Force know my plight, release the light!” As it fell, it began to take on the form of his sword. Before it hit the ground, he grabbed the handle, and the light shattered to reveal the sword’s form. Running as fast as he could, he finally arrived at the park a while later, where he saw Ceaira firing different colored arrows from her crossbow at the dark green kangaroo as it leaped high into the sky. “Ceaira!” Li rushed over and slid to a stop, holding up his sword as the kangaroo handed on the ground. “That’s Jump?” “Yeah, but be careful Li. Aquilia told me about Jump when I called her a few minutes ago. It jumps pretty high, can maneuver very easily, and it has a powerful kick!” “Thanks for the warning.” Li turned back to the kangaroo, who was jumping up and down, showing it was ready for battle. “I have an idea Li. The fastest magic attack descendants of the Clow know is lightning. If we combine our spells into a large lightning attack, we might be able to hit it.” “Good idea.” “However, you’ve somehow got to get around to the other side so we can hit it from different angles.” “Right. Don’t worry, I brought a little help.” Smiling, Li removed the Jump Card from his pocket and held it up for Ceaira to see. She smiled when she saw it, then nodded as she turned back to Jump. “Use it to get to the other side while I distract it.” “Okay.”
Li nodded, then stood his ground as Ceaira rushed forward and lifted her crossbow. Skidding to a stop, a green energy was seem emitting from the arrow slot as she brought the weapon to eye level. “Hey Jump! How do you like this!?” Jump looked up and appeared a little puzzled, giving Ceaira confidence as she fired the green arrow. While that happened, Li tossed up the Jump Card and lifted his sword. “Jump Card, give your powers to me!” Letting out a battle cry, Li slammed the tip of his sword down against the card, causing the energy to appear. Small wings appeared on his sneakers, allowing him to jump into the air and over the kangaroo, who had just caught the arrow in it’s paws. “You can’t beat me with puny arrows alone GemCaptor.” Snickering, it threw the arrow back at Ceaira with tremendous force, causing her to be hit and ensnared by green vines. She lost her balance then fell backwards onto the ground. Smiling, Jump hopped over and stood by Ceaira and watched as she struggled to free herself from her own magic. “Try and get yourself out of this.” Snickering to itself, Jump lifted one of it’s large feet and slammed it down onto her side which prevented her from sitting up.
“Come on team stay focused out there!” Miss Mackenzie watched with concerned eyes as the WRHS team managed to spike the ball, allowing themselves to get the point. Just then, the whistle was blown signaling that it was time for the team members to change places. As the team members sitting on the bench jumped up and ran out onto the floor, Sakura and her fellow players raced off to sit down. As she grabbed a bottle of water, Sakura felt a tap on her shoulder. When she looked, she saw Miss Mackenzie with a concerned look on her face. “Are you okay Sakura? Your mind doesn’t seem to be totally focused on the game.” Sakura’s eyes closed as she frowned, then she opened them as she looked out to the game. Miss Mackenzie frowned and kneeled down beside her. “It’s Ceaira isn’t it? She’s fighting a Kayo Gem?” “Yeah, Li went to help her, but something in my head keeps telling me that there’s something wrong.” Thinking to herself, Miss Mackenzie stood up from the ground and looked out onto the game as a point was scored by their team. “Good job team! Break the tie in our favor!” Sakura clapped for her friends, then drank some of the bottled water as Miss Mackenzie turned back to her and smiled. “Don’t worry Sakura. Ceaira is a direct descendant of Clow Kayo and is the chosen GemCaptor. She and Li will be just fine.” “I hope so Miss Mackenzie.” Sakura frowned, then drank some more of her water as she looked back out toward the game in progress.
Ceaira clenched her teeth as she attempted to break the vines, but to no avail. “Why did my magic have to be so strong tonight!?” Jump snickered, then bright it’s foot up and off of her to place it back on the ground. “Time to destroy you!” Taking a step back, it began to jump up and down until it finally made it so it was able to jump extremely high into the sky. It then leaned forward and soared down quickly toward Ceaira.
Suddenly, right before it’s shoulder collided with her head, Li came from out of no where and kicked Jump out of the way and into a nearby tree. Once landing on the ground, Li gripped his sword and sliced it through the vines, thus freeing Ceaira. She climbed up off of the ground, and picked up her crossbow. “Okay, time to play hard ball!” “What do you plan to do?” “Look, Jump can do what it was created to only because there is a certain amount of gravity around us. Enough to let it jump up and come back down to the ground to jump again.” “Yeah, so?” “So, we use this to throw it off balance in our favor!” Ceaira smiled as she opened the slot on her crossbow, allowing a gem to fall out. Holding it up to Li, he gasped in realization when he saw the image of the elf with it’s arms crossed under a large pendant. “The Gravity Gem!” “Right. Get ready Li, this is going to feel strange at first . . .call back Jump!” “Okay! Jump Card return!” As the wings disappeared and formed the shape of the card in Li’s hands, Ceaira gripped the gem in her left hand. She then lowered the arm to the ground, then lifted it quickly as she tossed the gem above her head. She then held out her crossbow and left arm out in front of her and went into a spin as a sparkling greyish-white energy surrounded her. “Gravity Gem . . .remove the gravity around us so we can capture the Jump Gem!” She then pointed the crossbow up to the sky and held out her left arm to the side and quickly opened her eyes to see the gem reaching it’s vertical peak. “Gravity Gem! Shatter and dispel!”She pulled the trigger of the crossbow and a arrow flew up, followed by all the energy which surrounded her before. They both collided with the front of the gem, causing it to shatter into a sparkling greyish-white light.
As the energy swirled and massed together, it transformed into the elf boy the group encountered before. After it surveyed the area, Gravity held up it’s pendant, which emitted a light that traveled all over the area. Before disappearing, the energy formed a dome all around the park. Gravity smiled, then dropped the pendant as it burst into energy, which suddenly caused Ceaira, Li, and Jump to start rising off of the ground. “Yes! It’s working!” “Now we have the advantage! Ready to blast it Li?” “You bet Ceaira!” The two nodded, then made distance as Li made his way to the other side of Jump. As he did so, Ceaira crossed her arms over her head and closed her eyes as an electric energy began to appear. “Ancient powers heed my cry . . .” When Li made it to the other side, he lifted his sword and placed his two fingers on the blade as it became electrified as well. “Force, know my plight . . .” The two energies began greater in brightness and quantity as both of them suddenly opened their eyes and glared at the kangaroo between them. “Allow the force to fly!” “Release the light!” Bringing down her arms, Ceaira yelled out at the exact same time as Li swung his sword, allowing the energy to release and shoot out. “LIGHTNING!”
Jump suddenly let out a screech of pain as both of the spells collided and engulfed it. As the lightning seemed to keep it trapped in a energy life field, Li removed another card from his pocket while Ceaira removed a green gem. “Just to play it safe Li, let’s restrain it so it can’t get away.” “Right!” Li nodded, then tossed up the card as he gripped the sword handle with both hands. Ceaira tossed up the gem and took aim as it reached it vertical peak. As she shot the arrow, Li brought down the sword to slam the card. “Wood Card release!” “Amazon Gem release!” The two being appeared and released their powers, causing a barrage of branches and vines to shoot out and wrap around the kangaroo. It cried out, then went limp as the lightning energy disappeared. Ceaira smiled, then took aim with her crossbow while Li floated out of the way. “Jump Gem!” Return to your power confined!” She then pulled the trigger, allowing a white arrow to shoot out and hit the kangaroo, causing it to burst into a white light which engulfed the form. After the two disappeared, the gem took shape and floated over to Ceaira, who grabbed it. The moment she did however, the dome dropped, causing Li and herself to fall to the ground. Li landed on his side, which was near the Wood Card while Ceaira landed on her back. “Ouch . . .maybe I should have kept the Jump Gem so I would have landed on my feet . . .” “You think you’re hurting? I’m the one who landed on my back here!”
Groaning, Ceaira sat up from the ground, then looked down at her left hand which was holding the gem. The image was of the kangaroo at the peak of a jump, against a navy blue background. “Well, we caught it . . .thanks for the help Li.” “No problem. Now you have one of the most valuable abilities a Captor can possess. Sakura used the Jump Card on many, many accessions to capture a lot of the cards.” “How many?” “Let’s say this. I’ve seen her use it during the captures of Thunder, Sword, Power, Freeze, Earthy, Twin, and many others.” “Wow . . .good thing I received it . . .” Li nodded, then walked over to Ceaira and pulled her up off the ground. She brushed off her clothes, then placed the gem in the crossbow slow before it transformed back into the arrow pendant. “Let’s get back to the school, the volleyball game is most likely still being played.” “Good idea.” Ceaira nodded as she wiped her forehead with the back of her hand, then began walking away toward the school, with Li not too far behind.
“Time out!” The referee blew the whistle, signaling that Miss Mackenzie was using the team’s final time out of the game. The scoreboard on the other side of the gym showed that both teams were tied at fourteen points each. All of the players who were on the court rushed off, while the others on the bench slid over to where Miss Mackenzie was standing. When she was sure everyone was there, she cleared her throat and began talking. “Okay, this is it girls. This game will either make or break our season. Here’s what I want done. Sakura, Nikki, and Chelsea will lead in the front lines. Alexandra will serve the ball, while Jessi and Taiane will make sure if it reaches the back lines, that it will not touch the ground. We have to score this point! We have to show the other schools just what we’re made of!” “Right!” Sakura nodded as the others shouted, but then frowned as she turned toward the bleachers. Suddenly, her face lit up and she smiled when she saw Madison, Li, Ceaira, Tori, Julian and Aiden cheering the team on. Nodding to herself and clenching her fist, she turned back to Miss Mackenzie and shot her fist toward the ceiling. “Let’s win this game!” “All right!” Everyone on the team cheered, causing the crowed who supported the team to cheer just as loud. Sakura and the other chosen players for the final match raced out onto the floor, then took their positions as they awaited the serve.
Alexandra tossed up the ball and slammed it with her fist, causing it to fly over the net. One of the players on the opposing team hit it, causing it to fly over again. Taiane hit it, but it only made it to Chelsea, who hit it sideways to Nikki. She bumped it over, but it was blocked by two players. As it fell toward the ground, Sakura dived down and slammed it up and over the net. Another one of the opposing players dove out from the back and hit it, causing it to fly over and just barely make it onto Sakura’s side. Nikki hit it up, followed by Chelsea hitting it to Sakura. She jumped up and placed her hands together to form a giant fist, then slammed the ball down at the ground. One of the player tried to dive forward and hit it, but she missed, which allowed the ball to hit the ground.
A loud cheer echoed from the crowed as the score changed to read that Reidenton had won the game. Sakura, Nikki, Chelsea, and the rest of the team rushed over and group hugged each other as they jumped up and down in joy. After calming down, they walked along the net and shook hands with the other players, saying how good a game it was and wishing them luck with their next one. When that was finished, Sakura rushed over to the others in the bleachers and high-fived Madison. “That was such an awesome game Sakura!” “Awesome spike Squirt.” “I wish you wouldn’t call me that Tori.” “Well too bad SQUIRT. As long as you’re my sister, I’m gonna call you that.” “Whatever.” Sakura just shook her head, but then turned to Ceaira and Li with a curious expression on her face. “Did you get it?” “The Jump Gem? Yeah, We caught it.” “With help from Ceaira’s Gravity Gem.” “Awesome!” “Oh, speaking of captures, I’ll give back your cards.”
Li stood up from the bleachers, then reached into his pocket and pulled out the Jump and Wood cards. After handing them to her, she smiled and high-fived Li. “Glad they came in handy for you. Now then Li, what were you going to tell me earlier before you had to go help Ceaira?” “Huh? Oh . . .it was nothing important.” “Oh.” Li nodded, and Sakura smiled as she turned to the others. Aiden walked down from the bleachers and hugged Sakura, then turned to the others. “How about this? Sakura, you go get Nikki and Chelsea, then I’ll take all of you out for a victory ice cream.” “All right!” “Thanks Mr. Avalon!” He smiled, then began talking to Tori and Julian as Sakura ran off to get her friends. Madison walked over to Li, then tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around to see her, then frowned as his gaze went to the ground. “I didn’t get a chance to tell her . . .” “Bummer. Well, no problem Li. Remember, tomorrow’s another day!” “You’re right. Someday she’s gonna know exactly how I feel, even if I have to travel to the ends of the earth to find the way to show her.” “That’s the spirit Li!” The two nodded and smiled, then calmed down as Sakura came back over with Nikki and Chelsea. Aiden then motioned for everyone to follow him, and so they did. As they left the building and headed down the street, Madison was watching the video of the game on the little screen of her camera as she though to herself about the situation between Li and Sakura. “If it’s rejection that Li’s afraid of, then he’ll find out there’s nothing to worry about once he finds out Sakura likes him just as much.”

The Kayo Gems

“Each gem that is captured has a mystical seal . . .a new mystifying gem today we shall reveal . . .”
The Kayo box is dark blue with the image of a golden eagle on the lid. It suddenly flipped opened and tipped over, causing all the gems inside to spill out onto the ground. they all bounced around, but one landed and spun around on one side. it then fell over into it’s flat side to reveal the image to be a golden dragon standing against a five pointed star surrounded by a golden light.
     “Star Gem!”
A large golden dragon flies through the sky and flaps it’s wings, sending shots shaped like stars down at the group. Aquilia attempted to fight back with her powers, but fell in the end when she was hit with a more powerful blast. Ceaira and Sakura combined all of the elemental cards and gems to stop it, which allowed Ceaira to seal it. The Star Gem is then shown again before bursting into a yellow light.

Aquilia Chat

“Hello Card fans! Kero’s sick today so it’s now time for Aquilia Chat and speaking of my best friend Keroberos, today’s segment focuses on his true form”
Aquilia then turns on the small TV to show Kero transforming into Keroberos.
“For a while during the time when the cards were loose, Kero was restricted in powers and form. When all were captured, he transformed back into this big dude.”
She then changes the channel to show a still image of Kero posing.
“As you can see, he sort of resembles a lion, without the mane of course. He’s about as tall as Sakura was when she was 11, and of course, he has wings (not like mine of course, mine are cool).”
Aquilia smiles then flies closer until her face is almost right up again the camera lens.
“And now, take a look at this!”
She changes the channel once again to show a closeup of his helmet.
“The helmet he wears is of course for protection. The red jewel in the centre helps to show he represents the sun. His attack of course, is fire!”
Aquilia smiled, then flew over to a table where a cupcake was left. After unwrapping it, she lifts it up and turned toward the camera.
“Kero and Yue have returned to their true forms through the capture of all the cards. Since there are so many Kayo Gems, it makes me wonder how long I have to wait. Hope it isn’t too long! See ya the next time Kero is not here!”
She waves then takes a giant bite out of the cupcake as the scene fades out.
