CardCaptors
The GemCaptors Chronicles

Last Time on CardCaptors . . .

“Her identity will be revealed soon . . .”
Last time, Sakura, Li, and Madison had a full day of suspense and action. A reading from the Sakura Cards reveal that the mysterious girl will reveal her identity soon.
“Now we just have to wait for the girl to reveal herself.”
On her way back to class, Sakura met a new exchange student from Egypt, named Ceaira Syona, who Sakura later finds out to be Tori’s new girlfriend.
“How do you know the Squirt?”
After she returned home, the CardCaptor’s gang sensed a strange energy which takes them to the park. There, they face off against a giant snake who turned out to be the Watery Gem. They discover that it has innocent people trapped inside its pillar of water.
“We have to get them out somehow!”
Li managed to use his lightning magic to keep it at bay, while Sakura summoned the Thunder Card. As they fought, the girl suddenly appeared with a small bird by her side, who as well wore a mask on its face.
“Let me take care of this snake because it’s my mission!”
The girl tried summoning the firebird again, but unfortunately it was not able to fight the snake. In the midst of the battle, the Watery Gem shot a blast of water, which knocked off the girl’s eye mask. She falls to the ground, but as she rose to continue the fight, Sakura and Li caught a glimpse at the mystery girl’s true identity.      “I don’t believe it! It’s Ceaira!”
That revealed to Sakura, Li, Madison, and Kero that the mysterious girl was none other than Ceaira. After sealing the Watery Gem, Ceaira and her small bird knew it was time to answer their questions. Thus, began the interrogation . . .

Episode Four

Fire and Ice

“So tell us what you’re allowed to.” “I can tell you everything we know if you like.”
The group was now sitting on or standing near the fountain, listening as Ceaira walked back and forth thinking about how to explain it. The small bird was now perched on the fountain next to Kero, who was sitting by Sakura. Li sat beside her, and Madison leaned against the fountain. “But, first things first though. I’ll introduce you to the Guardian Beast of Kayo’s Lock.” The small bird bowed for everyone then nestled back down onto the stone. She smiled them waved her hand toward it. “This is Aquilia. She represents the stars, like Kero represents the sun.” “I protect the Kayo Gems which were accidentally sent here. I’m guide Ceaira in getting them all back. We found three left in the box. Fiery, Love, and Friendship.” “The Kayo Chest was kept inside a tomb in Egypt. When my father discovered it, I accidentally opened it, releasing all the gems. They fled here for some reason. By a stroke of luck, he was transferred here, and since this place has excellent schools, he brought me along.” “Very cool. So what are Kayo Gems?” Ceaira then walked over to the other side of the fountain and pulled out a navy blue box with a picture of a bald eagle on top of a large five-pointed, gold coloured star on the lid. She then opened the box and pulled out three gems. She handed a pink gem to Madison, the Amazon Gem to Sakura, and the Water Gem to Li. “These are some of the Kayo Gems. Like the Clow Cards, they each have their own form, personality, and abilities. They’re kept inside the Kayo Chest.” “What’s this one?” Madison held up a gem with a pink background, and a red heart. “That’s the Love Gem. The Friendship Gem is a knot, to symbolize the unity that comes with friends.” “Makes sense, it takes two or more strings to create a knot, and it takes two or more people to create friendship.” “That’s right Kero.” “There are more than 52 Gems in the collection, and I’ve got to capture them all, since I’m the GemCaptor.” “So I’m a CardCaptor, meaning I capture and use the cards, while you’re a GemCaptor, which means you capture and use gems.” “Right. This crossbow lets me do that. I shoot arrows to attack, to summon the gems, and as you’ve seen, to as well capture them.” “So, out of the collection, you’ve got . . .6 gems?” “Yes.” “I just want to know one thing. Clow Reed created the Clow Cards, so who created the Kayo Gems?” “His name was Kayo, but he knew Reed.” “How?” “Well . . .” “They were brothers. His full name was Clow Kayo.”
Suddenly, Sakura and Li gasped, their jaws practically hitting the ground. Madison was confused, while Kero and Aquilia nodded to each other. Li just then, jumped up from the fountain and swung his arm to the side. “You’re saying that Reed and Kayo were brothers? That makes us cousins?!” “Distant relatives actually, because of the amount of time between then and now, there have been many other bloodlines which have influenced the main bloodline.” “Kayo was Reed’s younger brother. For a while, the two were inseparable because of the magic they practised. However . . .one day when they were in their twenties, something happened to them, that made them suddenly hate each other. The hatred was so powerful, that they wanted to destroy each other. So, Reed created the Clow Cards, and Kayo created the Kayo Gems. They both died later before using them against each other, so their families sealed away their creations. Somehow though, their hatred infected their children, causing them to feud. It’s been that way for generations.” “So why aren’t we feuding?” “Because of the thin bloodline between us, it isn’t powerful enough to cause friction between Li and myself. You may be a CardCaptor, but you’re not of the bloodline, so that’s why we get along Sakura.” “What about Kero and Aquilia?” “I may have been chosen to be guardian of the chest, but Kero and I were best friends back then, even after the hatred began. That’s why Kayo created the Friendship Gem, because even though he knew he would never get along with Reed again, he knew Kero and I did. He admired our friendship’s strength.” “That’s so cool.” “One of the members of Ceaira’s family long ago was fighting a descendant of Reed. She created the battle costume for the women of the family, because just the men had been feuding up until that time. Ceaira broke the tradition, and used the costume in her quest to capture the gems instead.” “I love the battle costume. I’ll have to try and make a copy something.” “Madison . . .she’s into fashion and is always designing my battle costumes.” “These are the Reed family ceremonial robes.” “I know. That descendant that the creator of my costume fought wore those robes to every battle. It says so in the family history book.” “Do you have rivals?” “No. It’s just Aquilia and myself capturing the gems.”
Sakura just then smiled widely and stood up from the fountain. She held out her left hand, then made her right hand into a fist. Slamming the fist into the open hand, she cleared her throat. “Hey, how about the three of us help you? I know it was hard at first for me to capture cards because I didn’t have too many in my collection. We have all the Clow Cards so we can help out a lot!” Ceaira closed her eye and placed her hand on her chin as she thought it over. She then opened her eyes and turned to the group. “What do you think Aquilia?” She nodded then began rising up as she took flight around the group. “I think that would be a good idea. I mean, you couldn’t have captured the card as easily if Li hasn’t used his magic, and if Sakura didn’t use the Thunder Card. We owe you a debt of gratitude, and knowing the quest will only become harder, Ceaira and I would be honoured if you four lent your assistance.” Aquilia smiled then perched herself on Ceaira’s shoulder. Sakura, Li, Kero, and Madison walked over to Ceaira, and they all placed their right hands out, placing one on the other. They held the position and smiled. “Now begins the next chapter the CardCaptor’s Saga.” “You said it Sakura.” They then removed their hands and looked back toward the city. Sakura looked at her watched then shrieked. “Oh no! I was supposed to be home in time for dad to get home! How am I going to get out of this!?” “Sakura, just say you were over at my house looking at some new clothes I bought or something, and that you lost track of time.” “I told Waye that I had no idea how long I would be at Sakura’s house, so I don’t have to worry too much.” “I should get home before my dad starts to worry, seeing as I’ve only lived here a couple of weeks.” “Right. Bye everyone!” “Sakura, let’s hurry over to my house so you can change back into your normal clothes.” “Right.” The entire group waved, then walked off in different directions. Sakura looked back at the others and smiled. Madison looked at her wondering why she was so happy. “Sakura? What’s so great that you’re smiling?” “The adventure is starting again, and we’ll get to help Ceaira capture gems instead of cards. There may even be different gems that we’ll have never seen as Cards. That means you can make new battle costumes!” “Really?” Sakura nodded, smiling as they reached Madison’s house. “All right!”
Later, Sakura arrived back to her house and went straight to bed. Kero curled up on her pillow like always. She enjoyed her sleep, but outside things were amiss. Clouds slowly gathered in the night sky, which blocked out the moon. There was silence and stillness for a long period of time, then a snowflake appeared by Sakura’s window. It floated downward, followed a moment later by many more. Not too far away, the river’s water flowed steadily into the reservoir. The security guard on duty was sleeping in his office, unaware that a strange mist suddenly appeared, and was a few minutes later, floating all around the area. It stopped, then entered the water. A minute later, it began crystalizing, causing the flow of water to stop.
The next morning, Sakura awoke from her bed to look around. She yawned, stretching her left arm up toward the ceiling while she picked up the clock with her right hand. She suddenly screamed when she saw that the time was 9:13 A.M.. She leaped out of bed and rushed downstairs. “Dad! I’m late for school! Why did you let me sleep in so late!?” Aiden looked up from the stove and smiled at her. “Haven’t you looked outside yet Sakura?” She looked at her father, totally puzzled. Walking over to the window, she looked outside and gasped with delight. She saw that it had snowed during the night, and it looked to be very deep. She cried out for joy then raced back upstairs. She came back down later wearing a blue turtleneck and black jeans. She walked over to the phone and phoned Li, then Madison. She then walked into the kitchen and poured herself a bowl of cereal, while Aiden placed some bacon on a plate for himself. “So what do you plan to do today with there being no school?” “What else? Go tobogganing with Li and Madison!” She smiled then started eating her cereal. Aiden ate some bacon then looked outside at the snow. “It’s strange though . . .there was no snow forecasted for today.” “Maybe it was wrong this time. Not every system is perfect you know.” “You’re right Sakura. You just have fun today, because there might be school tomorrow.” “Okay dad! As soon as I finish my breakfast, I’m getting out my toboggan, then I’m heading to the hills with Li and Madison.” “Sounds like a plan.” Sakura nodded as she ate the last spoonful of her cereal. She then placed the bowl in the sink and raced upstairs. Kero was on the floor, sitting on a pillow playing Zylon Warriors IV. She pulled out her winter gear, and pulled it on. It consisted of a pink coat with black snow pants. She had as well blue gloves, pink winter boots, and a blue toque. She then pulled out her toboggan and headed for the door. “I’m going tobogganing with Li and Madison later, you wanna come with us Kero?” “Nah. I really want to beat this game.” “Okay then, see you this afternoon.” She then left the room, closing the door after her. Kero continued playing, but suddenly cried out when his character was killed by a giant rabbit. “WHAT!? I can’t believe it! I dodged that attack!” Kero frowned then tossed the controller aside. He cross his arms, then flew over toward the window. “Man, now I have to start back from my last save point . . . this isn’t turning out to be fun today . . .”
Later that afternoon, Sakura, Li, and Madison were walking down the street toward the hills. They were the most popular hills in Reidenton because of their height, and steepness. “This is going to be such an awesome day! I can’t wait to try out my new sled!” “I can’t wait to fly down that hill at who knows how many miles an hour.” “I think it’s cool when you wipe out, and land in a snow bank.” “Really Li?” “Yeah.” “That must mean you wipe out a lot eh?” “Hey! Not necessarily!” “So just ever little while?” “Yeah.” Madison and Sakura then giggled, while Li frowned and looked up the hill. “So why do you think it just suddenly started to snow?” “I don’t know, freak snowstorm maybe? We had one a few years ago like this.” “That seems like the answer that makes the most sense.” As they started to walk upward, he suddenly tripped, causing him to let go of his sled. “Oh no . . .” He watched it slide toward the ground, then frowned as she got back up to his feet and continued to the top of the hill. “Oh well, I’ll get it when I go back down there . . . somehow . . .”
Once they reached the top, Madison, who was wearing a yellow coat, blue snow pants, and red mittens, boots, and earmuffs, decided to take off right away, so she ran and leaped over the side. She pulled the sled toward her then landed on the hill, speeding toward the bottom. “Heads up!” Li watched as Sakura placed the sled in the snow. He wore a green coat with yellow gloves. He as well wore red snow pants and black boots. She looked at him then toward the ground beside him. “Where’s your sled?” “Well . . .” He pointed to the bottom of the hill where the sled had just stopped. She giggled then invited him over. “That’s okay. You can head down with me. It can hold two people after all.” “Really?” “Yup!” She nodded then sat down on the sled. She then climbed on and grabbed her shoulder so he wouldn’t fall off. “Here we go!” They then took off, heading down the hill at a pretty quick speed. Li almost fell off, so instinctively he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist to stay on. She gasped then blushed, thinking how cool it was. He blushed at the same time, glad he had enough courage to do that. They arrived at the bottom, where Sakura turned a corner too tightly which caused her to tumble off the sled, taking Li with her. They rolled down the rest of the way, then landed at the bottom, with Sakura on top. She gasped them jumped up off of Li, pulling him up afterward. “That was awesome!” “Especially that wipeout. You gotta work on your steering abilities Sakura.” “Oh, knock it off Li.” The two then laughed, when Madison walked over smiling. “Can’t leave you two alone for a second can I?” The two looked at her then blushed, turning away from each other. They then heard the sound of laughter as they looked around. They smiled as they saw Ceaira walking toward the, dragging a sled behind her. She was wearing a blue coat with purple gloves and earmuffs. On her feet were black boots, and she wore green snow pants. “How’s it going everyone?” She stopped then smiled. “Pretty good Ceaira. How’s Aquilia?” “She’s fine, but she didn’t wanna come with me. She hates cold weather after all.” “The only reason Kero stayed home was because he wanted to best a video game.” “So what have you been up to since last night?” “Nothing actually. Might see Tori later, or go hunting for some gems.” “How many gems did you say there were?” “Umm . . .I think at least 60.” “Wow!” “That’s a lot of gems.” “Yeah, but enough with the gems. Let’s have some fun!” “All right!”
They spent the rest of the morning, and as well the entire afternoon climbing up and speeding down the hill along with many other people. Half way through the afternoon, they decided to take a break. Heading over to a nearby coffee shop, they all ordered a cup of hot cocoa and sat down by the window. “So how do you like Reidenton so far Ceaira?” “It’s a pretty nice place. I like it because it has lots of trees, nice people, other magical people . . .” “Really though.” Everyone giggled as they agreed to her. she then sighed and looked back out the window. “And of course, Tori. He’s been so nice to me ever since we met.” “I’m glad. He can be a pest sometimes, but he’s still a pretty cool brother.” “Yeah, he’s sweet.” “You haven’t met our dad yet have you?” “No, seeing as he wasn’t home last night.” “Well, maybe later you can.” “That sounds pretty cool.” Ceaira took a drink out of her cup of cocoa, and then placed the cup back on the table. She stretched her arms then placed her elbows on the table. placing her right hand on her left, she rested her chin and looked to the three. “So, does anyone have a crush on anyone?” “WHAT!?” “You heard me.” She smiled then closed her eyes. Madison shook her head, while Li and Sakura hesitated. Both of their faces turned red as they laughed nervously. Ceaira opened one eye and looked at the two, then bursted into laughter. “What’s so funny Ceaira?” “Those two! You’d think they were embarrassed about their crushes or something. Don’t want us to know eh?” “Well, not really. I’m not comfortable with telling anyone about it yet . . .” “Same here.” “Okay then, but you’ll have to tell me someday. I don’t want to be left in suspense forever.” “Okay.”
Suddenly, Ceaira gasped as she felt a strange energy in the air. She glanced out the window and stared for a few moments. Sakura looked at her totally puzzled. “You okay Ceaira?” “No . . .I think I sense something . . .” “Really? What do you think it is?” “Well . . .it could be a Kayo Gem . . .or two . . .” “Really!?” “Yeah . . .I think one of them coming from somewhere down the street, like the playground.” “Should we go check it out?” “Yeah . . .let’s go.” The four got up and finished their cocoa. They then ran outside and down the street. A while later, they arrived at the playground, where they discovered that the Penguin Slide was completely buried by a snow bank. They gasped then looked around. “I think it’s the Snow Gem . . .it’s the only gem that can create this much snow.” Should we try and melt the snow?” “No . . .we should concentrate on getting Snow sealed into it’s gem form. When that happens, the snow will slowly disappear without leaving water behind. If we melt the snow, it could flood the town.” “Good point.” Suddenly a gust of wind came up, blowing a great deal of snow at the four. They were able to stand their ground until it stopped. Suddenly, from out of the snowdrift, a young woman appeared. She had light blue hair tied up with a dark blue ribbon, and dark blue eyes. She wore a long dark blue dress with long sleeves. In her right hand, she held a light blue wand with a snowflake on the end. On her feet were light blue high heels. She smiled then waved her wand all around her, causing more snow to fall quickly. Ceaira gasped then looked toward the others. “Quickly! We have to summon our weapons!” “Right!” Ceaira grabbed her pendant and held it in front of her. She then placed her hands together to conceal the pendant from view. She then closed her eyes and began her incantation.
“Lock of Kayo . . .Key of Syona . . .forces of good . . .surrender the bow . . .surrender the might . . .so I may fight!”
A blue light appeared, causing her to open her eyes. she pulled her hands apart and the blue arrow rose upward. It then became engulfed in a sphere of light blue energy. Streams of the same energy appeared then flowed into the pendant, which then began to morph. Ceaira then leaped up and stopped in front of the finished product of the metamorphosis; her crossbow. She grabbed it then fell back toward the ground. As she landed on the ground, Sakura was beginning her incantation.
“Key of Star . . .Power of Magic . . .Power of Light . . .surrender the wand . . .the force ignite . . .Release!”
Streams of energy appeared and swirled around her. At the same time other streams were flowing into the key as it spun around in mid air. It then began to extend. Sakura grabbed the mid-section then twirled it around until it was at full size. Li had just removed a round pendant and was now doing an incantation.
“Source of light with ancient spin, send forth the magical power within . . .” He then threw the pendant up to the sky and it began transforming as well. “Force know my plight, release the light!” As it fell, it began to take on the form of his sword. Before it hit the ground, he grabbed the handle, and the light shattered to reveal the sword’s form.
Sakura looked to the others then began another incantation, taking a card into her right hand. “Fiery Card . . .” She held the card in front of her with her two fingers, and then turned it so the image was facing the gem. She then tossed it out and began twirling her wand. “Release and dispel!” She then raised the wand above her head once the card stopped in front of her. She then slammed the wand’s point against the card, causing red energy to disperse and swirl around. Suddenly, a being which resembled a elf child appeared and sent a wave of fire at the Snow Gem. She was hit, causing her to fall into the snow bank. She then stood up, looking a little angry, then jumped up and summoned a strong wind of snow. Sakura recalled the Fiery Card right before she was hit. She flew back and landed in a snow bank. Li rushed over to help her, while Ceaira faced off against the strange woman. She gripped her crossbow, threw out the Fiery Gem. Taking aim, she shot at it and it shattered into a glittering red light. “Fiery Gem! Shatter and Dispel!” The firebird then appeared and quickly breathed a wave of fire at the gem. The fire hit the woman in the chest, causing her to cry out. She then stumbled backwards, and Ceaira knew that was the opportunity. She prepared her crossbow then took aim. “Snow Gem! Return to your power confined!” She then shot a solitary arrow of white light, which bursted and surrounded the woman on impact. When the two disappeared, the Snow Gem dropped to the ground and bounced once over to Ceaira. she caught it and examined it’s image, which was the woman holding a snowflake in her two own hands. She sighed to herself then turned to Sakura, who was getting up with the help of Li and Madison. “We got the gem.” “That’s great.” Sakura stood up and brushed out the snow in her hair. “Let’s go home . . .I’m totally soaked from today anyway.” “Good idea. I think we all are.” They all nodded then headed back to the coffee shop to get their toboggans, then headed back to their homes. As they went to sleep later that night, the snow was beginning to disappear.
The next morning, Sakura woke up bright and early, and headed downstairs. Aiden was watching a pot on the stove. She walked over and looked in it to see him boiling water. “Are we having porridge for breakfast or something?” “Actually, I’m boiling the water. The City declared it because the reservoir is completely frozen over. No water at all is running in or from it. ” “What!” “That and all the rivers have completely frozen too. The snow has entirely melted, but for some reason the ice won’t.” “That’s weird . . .” “By the way, because of it, they cancelled school.” “Thanks dad.” Sakura nodded then headed back upstairs and called the others. They all agreed to meet at the reservoir that night, just incase it was another Kayo Gem.
Night fell upon Reidenton, and everyone arrived just as the moon was half way from being at it’s highest point in the sky. Li and Ceaira were dressed in their battle costumes, Kero and Aquilia were checking out the ice, while Madison wore a dark red dress. She was preparing her video equipment, when Sakura suddenly walked out wearing her battle costume. It was a short skirt, with a white long sleeved t-shirt, with the design of a gold coloured star broach on the front. She wore knee high, white boots, and white gloves on her hands. Madison smiled as she held up the camera to film Sakura. “This is designed to be similar to a figure skater’s outfit, so it’s warm and easy to move in.” “Thanks Madison.” Ceaira looked then nodded. “You have an interesting taste in fashion Madison. However, it looks like it can stand up to a Kayo Gem.” “Thanks Ceaira.” “So, anyone sense anything yet?” Aquilia closed her eyes and hovered in the air as she looked slowly turned a complete circle. “I’m starting too . . .wait . . .” She suddenly opened her eyes and looked out toward the city. “It’s defiantly a Kayo Gem.” “Which one Aquilia?” “Feels like the Freeze Gem. It makes sense because of how the reservoir water froze, but has yet to melt at all.” “You’re right. Where do you think it could be?” “Somewhere near by . . .I can sense it’s energy . . .” “I’m starting to sense something too . . .” “Yeah . . .”
Suddenly, there was a loud howl, followed by the sounds of claws digging into the ice. They all stepped back from the edge of the reservoir, when suddenly large wolverine jumped up and landed on all fours on the platform. It has wild black fur and white eyes, with large fangs and claws. It howled then charged at the group. Sakura gasped, then summoned the Jump Card. She grabbed Li and Madison and leaped up to land on the top of a small building. Ceaira jumped up on her own and joined the others, while Kero and Aquilia flew after them. The wolverine snarled, then fired a beam of energy at the building. Sakura looked down and gasped as the small building was starting to freeze over. Ceaira then grabbed Madison while Li hung onto Sakura. They all then leaped upward and down onto the platform behind the wolverine. Ceaira then turned to Madison who was still filming the entire ordeal. “Madison! Get to safety!” “Okay!” She ran off and hid at the edge of the platform, but continued to film the fight as Sakura and Li landed beside Ceaira. “This is so cool . . .”
Back on the platform, Sakura was standing her ground while Li took his sword. He placed two fingers on the blade then began chanting. “Force, know my plight . . .release the light! Fire!” A wave of fire appeared from his sword and then attacked the wolverine. It howled from the pain, then charged forward at Li. He was about to be hit, when Sakura rushed in and pushed him to the side. She was hit dead on by the wolverine’s charge, and because of it she was sent flying backwards and off of the reservoir, falling toward the icy spikes below. Li and Kero cried out as she fell, then Li charged at the beast with his sword out of pure rage. Sakura quickly drew one of her cards as she fell, and summoned it. A pair of wings appeared on her back, and she stopped falling instantly right before hitting the ice. She breathed out a sigh of relief then flew back up hastily toward the battle zone. Li had just been knocked down by the wolverine, causing his sword to slide away from him. The creature then pinned his shoulders to the ground and snarled at him. Ceaira gasped, then removed a gem from her crossbow. She threw it away from her, and watched as it landed behind the wolverine. She smiled, then spun around in the air while energy gathered around her, then gripped her crossbow. “Amazon Gem! Use your vines to ensnare the Freeze Gem!” She stopped, and then took careful aim and shot an arrow upward. It soared up, then fell toward the ground. “Amazon Gem! Shatter and dispel!” It collided with the gem, causing it to explode into a sparkling green light. The woman from the gem suddenly appeared from a beam of green light, and smiled as she waved both of her hands toward the wolverine. Vines suddenly appeared and attacked it, wrapping around it’s feet, mouth, and body. The woman the waved her hands again, and vines shot up from below, the sides, the front, and from the air until the wolverine was barely able to move. As it was pulled back, Li rose from the ground, with the Amazon Gem’s help, and backed off from the beast. Sakura suddenly reappeared and landed beside him, causing her wings to disappear and reform as a card. Li looked at her and smiled. Kero cried out and cheered aloud, flying down to hug Sakura’s neck. “Sakura, you’re okay!” “Was there ever a doubt?” Ceaira giggled, then turned serious again as she turned back toward the reservoir. The wolverine snared, then fired a beam of energy at everyone. Li and Sakura were hit by the beam, causing their bodies to freeze up to their necks. Aquilia gasped then looked at Ceaira. “You’ve got to free those two!” “But the gem!” “It’s not going to go anywhere as long as Amazon can keep a good hold on it. You have to use the Fiery Gem to free the others before you seal Freeze, otherwise they’ll be badly injured when it disappears. That, and if Freeze did free itself, it can attack those two and shatter the ice. If they’re frozen enough, their bodies can be badly hurt by the shatter!” “Are you sure?” “Of course!” “All right.” Ceaira nodded then closed her eyes, taking out the Fiery Gem and holding it above her. “Fiery Gem . . .” She then tossed it into the air and went into a spin, gripping her crossbow. Red energy began to gather around her and seeped into her crossbow as she chanted. “Shatter and dispel!” She then stopped and pointed her crossbow to the sky where the gem had risen to it’s highest peak. She then fired an arrow at the gem, which collided and forced it to shatter into a sparkling red light. It massed together and formed the firebird, which landed beside her and awaited her command. “Firebird, melt the ice which has Li and Sakura trapped!” The firebird nodded then breathed a wave of fire at the two. The ice slowly melted, and as it did, Ceaira smiled and looked to Aquilia. “All right. Now you can seal the gem!” “Okay!” She then turned to the wolverine, who was trying to chew it’s way through the vines. She made haste and aimed her crossbow. “Freeze Gem! Return to your power confined!” She fired a white arrow which soared across the platform. It then bursted into a white light before impact and wrapped around the wolverine. It then transformed into a dark blue energy, which merged with the white and disappeared. A small gem dropped to the ground and bounced over to Ceaira. She caught it with her left hand, then studied the image. On the gem was a picture of the wolverine howling toward the sky. In the corners of its confinement were ice shards pointing toward the beast. She closed her eyes then gripped the gem. “These were quite the long days . . .” “Tell us about it . . .two gems of similar elements.” “At least that brings us a little closer to getting all the gems back.” “Yeah . . .” Li nodded, then suddenly thought of something. He turned to Sakura and smiled, hesitating before finally beginning to speak. “By the way Sakura, thanks for saving my life back there all those times. I owe you one.” “Nah, let’s say were even, seeing as you saved me a lot during the search for the Clow Cards.” “Okay then.” He smiled, then the two took each others hand and shook. They then looked back at Madison who was running over toward them. “That was so awesome! I’m defiantly keeping this video for future reference.” “You really think so eh?” “Of course!” “Ceaira, better get used to it. She video tapes all of our adventures whenever she can.” “That’s right!” “Hey look!” Everyone looked down at the reservoir to see the ice quickly melting back into water. It then began flowing steadily into the lake below, which fed the river heading for the city. “ALL RIGHT! We did it!” Everyone then jumped up for joy and some danced around as the water returned to normal. They then calmed down and headed off of the platform and home after Sakura changed into her regular clothes. As they walked, they became delighted as they saw that the rivers and streams were unfrozen and flowing with sparkling water again. “I’m glad things are back to normal.” “For now at least. Remember there are still many gems out there, and most are more powerful than the ones we’ve already encountered.” “We kind of guessed, seeing as that’s how it was when I was capturing the Clow Cards.” “I’m glad you three are helping us out actually. You know what it’s like to have to go out and battle against such a force. I can turn to you for advice, right?” “Yeah.” “Of course!” “We’ll be there for you whenever you need help. We make it so as the Captors Code.” “The Captors Code eh? When did you come up with this?” “Just now.” Everyone bursted into laughter at that moment, then finally a few minutes later totally calmed down. “It sounds like a good Code. Help out your fellow Captors in their time of need, through advice or through the capture of cards or gems.” “Yeah.” “Our official code of honour in being a Captor.” “Do we all agree?” Ceaira placed her hand out in the centre of their little circle. Sakura then placed her hand in next, followed by Li, Madison, Kero, and Aquilia. They all smiled then removed their hands. “So, how about we all head back home? It’s been a tiring night . . .that wolverine was fast.” “Yeah . . .I’m pretty tired myself.” “Okay, I’m going to get going. I’ll see all of you at school tomorrow.” “Bye Ceaira!” “Bye everyone!” “See ya later Madison!” Madison headed off in one direction, while Kero, Sakura, and Li went off in another. Ceaira waited a moment before she and Aquilia walked away themselves.
Later, Li, Sakura, and Kero had just arrived back at her house. As Li and Sakura stood on the front steps, Kero flew up to Sakura’s open window and flew into her bedroom. She smiled then looked back down. “Well, I’ll see you tomorrow at school Li.” “Yeah . . .” She smiled then turned toward the door. As she opened it, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Li was still standing there. “I want to tell you something first.” “What’s that?” “Well, I know at first I doubted your abilities as a CardCaptor, but at time passed and we captured more cards, I saw that I was wrong. I’m basically apologizing for giving you such a hard time two years ago. Kero chose you to be the CardCaptor, and I think he made a good choice.” “You really think so?” “Yeah.” “Thanks. And . . .thanks for all the help you’ve given us. I couldn’t have captured some cards without you after all.” “I only helped a little.” “A little goes a long way.” Li nodded and smiled. “Well, see ya tomorrow Sakura.” “Yeah, same here.” She smiled then headed into the house. Li climbed down the steps and then headed down the road. He stopped at the corner and looked back at her house. He sighed then smiled. “Someday I”ll be able to tell you how I feel . . .I just wish I was able to now.”
Upstairs, Sakura yawned as she pulled the sheets up and layed down in her bed. Kero turned off the light then curled up on the pillow. “Hey Sakura, can I ask you a question?” “What?” “Do you like Li?” She suddenly sat up and grabbed Kero. “What was that!?” “It’s just a simple question! The way you act around him made me wonder, that’s all! Honestly!” “You’re telling the truth?” “Yeah.” “Well, I’ll admit I do. He’s always there for me when I’m in trouble, and I can always count on him to treat whatever cards went to him with care. He was also nice enough to return the Dash Card, so I think that’s what started it.” “Who would have thought eh, especially looking back and remembering how much of a hard time he gave you.” “Yeah well, I don’t care. He apologized for all of that before I came inside. Well, I’m tired. I’m going to go to sleep now, okay Kero?” “Yeah sure. Good night Sakura.” She smiled then layed back down, closing her eyes and falling asleep. Kero layed awake for a few moments watching her. “You like him, and by the looks of it, he may like you the same way . . .” He yawned then curled up to fall asleep as well.

The Kayo Gems

“Each gem that is captured has a mystical seal . . .a new mystifying gem today we shall reveal . . .”       The Kayo box is dark blue with the image of a golden eagle on the lid. It suddenly flipped opened and tipped over, causing all the gems inside to spill out onto the ground. They all bounced around, but one landed and spun around on one side. It then fell over into it’s flat side to reveal the image to be a flower, who had a face which was frowning, and it’s eyes were closed.
     “Flower Gem!”
A flower held it’s arms to the side and shot three spheres of energy. They all hit Sakura, Li, and Ceaira, causing giant flowers to grow and holds them in place. the flowers then try to drain their energy, but Li manages to slash the stems, thus freeing them. Ceaira then summons the Freeze Gem, forcing the flower to become trapped in an ice crystal. She then shot an arrow which seals the gem. The Flower Gem appears again before bursting into a bright green light.

Kero's Corner

“Hey there Card fans! It’s once again time for Kero’s Corner, where I bring to you the behind-the-scene, inside-track, just-between-you-and-me, lowdown scoop on Sakura’s new battle costume!”
He turns around to face the TV. Holding a remote in his hand, Kero turns on the TV to Sakura looking at her new battle costume after changing into it at the reservoir.
“Madison was very excited to be able to make battle costumes again, but for fun she decided to start out with something simple.”
Kero then changed the channel to show Sakura in a still position, modelling her new costume and holding her Sealing Wand.
“As mentioned by Madison, this is similar to a figure skater’s costume. It’s just as warm as a sweater, but at the same time it’s very flexible for if she had to do a lot of moving, like when the group had to escape from the Freeze Gem.”
Kero smiled then flies closer until his face is almost right up again the camera lens.
     “And now, check out this!”
He then changed the channel again to show a picture of Sakura’s boots.
“These boots are not only fashionable, but as well very strong. They allow her to run on ice and jump from place to place with her Jump Card, which was extremely valuable in today’s episode.”
He then turned off the program then turned on his Zylon Warriors video game. He looked back to the camera one more time and smiled.
“As you remember, Sakura hated the costumes, but now she likes wearing them again. Now the only question is how long her enthusiasm will last. Oh well, Her attitude about the costumes was unexpected, hence my motto. See ya!”
He then turned back to the game and started playing as the scene fades out.
