Osho Zen Eight's

The eight's represent the sphere of Hod* (the eighth Sephirah of the Tree of Life), the second sphere of the Astral Triangle and the eighth path - that of Absolute or Perfect Intelligence. Hid represents the masculine principle in the Astral Triangle. This is the sphere representing Mercury, representing the rational mind. It's primary symbols are the names and versicles, and the apron. The names are the words of power, the versicles the mantras. Hod is the *shaper* of the unformed energy of Netsach.( * From Tarot For Tomorrow by Emily Peach.)

The energy of the number eight is that of power - the power to accomplish ones goals. This is a movement towards positive change.

Traveling (8 of Fire/Wands)

description (mine): This is one of those cards where every time you look you can see something new. The entire card is slightly out of focus. Running up the middle of the card we see a path, going up mountains that have no beginning and no ending - they fade away into the clouds. On this path, if you look very, very closely, you will see a small figure. On the top of the card the sun shines in all of its wonderful glory.

interpretation (mine): The message here is to stop and smell the roses. That our paths *are* the journey, that the journey is an entity, an energy onto itself, and the the goal is unimportant. This card also speaks of being open and accepting, i.e. unfearful of change.

affirmation (mine): "I see each new experience as a joy onto itself."

Letting Go (8 of Water/Cups)

description (mine): This is one of the most beautiful cards in this deck. We see green litus leaves growing from the water, with small drops of water dropping from them, creating lovely concentric circles as they do so. The feeling here is of a day from ones youth, perhaps spent down near a creek or river, sitting on the bank watching life happen.

Interpretation (mine): This is a card of a cycle completed. There are things that need to be let go of to create the room to move into new and different experiences.

Affirmation (mine): "I honor the things that I release, knowing that in letting go I am living fully in the present, ready to accept new opportunities."

~~~~~
Guilt (8 Of Clouds/Swords)
description (mine): Guilt shows a woman, in obvious distraught, clutching her head and crying out as phantom hands grab her head. In the background we see muted gray hills - the gray of confusion. At the top of the card we see a vine filled with lovely small white flowers.
Interpretation (mine): Acknowledging wrong action, by ourself or another, is not in itself a bad thing. It is when we allow the feelings of guilt to overwhelm us that we create self doubt and have issues with worthiness. We need to accept ourselves as we are, honor ourselves, learn our lessons and move on.
Affirmation: "A step off of my path is a lesson to be learned and cherished. It allows me to see myself with greater clarity and be a better person."
~~~~~

Ordinariness (8 of Rainbows/Pentacles)

description (mine): This is a gentle card - a place to go when one needs a safe haven. To the right we see a pink flowering tree, to the left two trees filled with green leaves. The sky in the background shows lovely soft clouds, and in the foreground we see a rolling green meadow filled with wild flowers. Down the middle a figure walks, with a basket under one arm.

Interpretation: In living in the now, in taking notice of how prescious each thing around us is, in seeing the beauty of each object, of each moment, we fill our lives with joy.

Affirmation: "I see the beauty of Great Spirit reflected in all around me."
