Outlaw Star is a short series about a guy named Gene Starwind, and his adventures in space.The main plot of the story is to try and find the Galatic Layline, something with the power to grant your every wish.
He has a friend who's about 11 named Jim Hawking, and later they meet Hilda. After that the chase is on as they are hunted down for the rest of the series. They meet many interesting people along the way, too, like Aisha Clan Clan - a Ctarl-Ctarl, or cat like person, who loves food and the mysterious Melfina who navigates the ship. They also meet up with an assasin named Suzuka. All of this leads up to the climax at the Layline itself.
This is a good Anime about 20 episodes long.
