Valley Forge Camping Trip

Valley Forge is the story of the six month encampment of the Continental Army of the newly formed United States of America under the command of General George Washington. Though no battle was fought here from December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778, a struggle against the elements and low morale were overcome on this sacred ground.

The Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a 2,158-mile (3,480.6 km) footpath along the ridge crests and across the major valleys of the Appalachian Mountains from Katahdin in the central Maine wilderness to Springer Mountain in a designated wilderness area in north Georgia. The trail traverses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. We however, are only hiking the New Jersey section. I don't think that all of the regular people who go, have six months to spare. The New Jersey Section is broken down into 5 or 6 segments. We've completed two of these. The segments are roughly 14 - 15 miles in length, and vary in difficulty level.
