The Story Behind the Visions & Reflections!

"Visions & Reflections" from the very beginning seemed to have a life of its own. I very often felt I had no choice but to see it through to its completion---despite tremendous financial and technical obstacles. It all began with a burst of songwriting. Inspired by the new songs, I decided to make a demo tape. I began rehearsing with Shawn Hopkins (drums), and as the songlist grew and the songs began to take form, the "demo" project turned into the "CD" project. It was around this time that we adopted the motto "Get it right, regardless of cost or time". It was also around this time that I adopted the idea that 93 was a good age for retirement and having 12 credit cards was a good thing! I put together a modest studio and began work on the recording. My good friends Barbara Bootz (Bass), and Doug Caye (Lead Guitar) added their influence to the recording. There were also those I met along the way who donated their time to the cause. Photographers Alan Levin and Jim Peters, Brian Lee (Bass), Terri Hammer (Back Vocals) and Chris Curran (mixing engineer). The songs on this album are close to my heart. It is my hope that they touch and inspire you. Peace. Ray Winch.
