Other Milestones in Disney Animation History
|
The first Mickey and Minnie cartoon was Steamboat Willie.
It was the first cartoon to match pictures with synchronized sound. November 18, 1928
The Goddess of Spring was an early attempt at animating humans.
It paved the way for the first of Disney's leading ladies, Snow White November 3, 1934
Flowers and Trees was the first technicolor cartoon. It helped make technicolor a standard in film making.
July 30, 1932 The Old Mill, one of my favourites was the first cartoon to use the multiplane
camera allowing the viewer to actually "move" through the film. November 5, 1937
The Skeleton Dance, you can say started it off for the Silly Symphonys.
It was the first released on August 22, 1929 Disney has truly been paving the way for animation,
not only for the things they create but for the people who are inspired by them to make other
animated films, either by branching away from the company or working with them.
It is actually amazing how they can make us feel, cry, love, and care for, in simple truth, a drawing.
