Radditz then threatens Gokou to kill 100 Earthlings in an hour or he will kill Gokou's son: Gohan! Radditz kidnaps Gohan and Piccolo (evil half of Kami.) comes in to offer his alliance with Gokiu to help save the world from this menace. Piccolo and Gokou take off and fight Radditz for a while and realize that he is too strong for them. Piccolo charges up his new move: "Makankosouppo" and shoots it but misses. Gohan, enraged with Radditz, attacks him and then Gokou holds Radditz down for Piccolo to shoot a Special Makankosouppo at him. Piccolo fires and hits them both, killing both of them.

Piccolo tells Radditz of the DragonBalls before his death and Radditz tells him about his scouter being a communicator. The other two Saiya-jins left: Nappa and Vegeta hear of the DragonBalls and decide to get them to wish for immortality. The trip to Earth will take one year and Gokou heads to train under Kaioh-sama with help from Kami and Enma Daiou (although he holds up the line). Gohan trains under Piccolo in the wilderness and becomes very strong. Meanwhile, Gokou is learning new techniques under the legendary Kaioh, such techniques as "Kaio Ken." The other Z Warriors: Yamucha, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Chaouzu and Yajirobi go to Kami's Lookout for some training of their own.

A year passes, and Gokou gets wished back and is on his way from Kaioh-sama's, also, Vegeta and Nappa land on the Earth plains and Piccolo and Gohan are ready. Kuririn lands not much after and Nappa plants the infamous Cybai-men, the battle starts and then Tenshinhan and Chaouzu come. Not long before the battle heats up, Yamucha shows up. Tien fights one Cybai-man and wins, Yamucha tries one and after defeating it, it performs a kami-kazi destroying both of them. Kuririn gets very angry and blasts the remaining three Cybai-men to dust. The fighters start with Nappa and get injured effortlessly. Chaouzu commits his own kami-kazi which fails on Nappa and Tien goes all out (even with one arm). With Tenshinhan, Yamucha and Chaouzu out of the way, Piccolo takes on Nappa and gets K.O.ed. Kuririn tries but easily get kicked in the head for the count. Nappa charges at Gohan but Piccolo protects him with his life. Piccolo, dead, leaves it up to Gohan. Right before Gohan is about to get clobbered, Gokou rescues him. Gokou easily makes a fool of Nappa and throws him down. Vegeta, angry and not exactly sentimental, deals with Nappa in his own way: death, which is so true for most Saiya-jin. Thus, Nappa's fate is sealed.

Gokou then fights with Vegeta, Vegeta hurts the foolish Saiya-jin and Gokou shows him his Kaio Ken Attack. The more powerful Gokou injures Vegeta and makes him mad. Vegeta throws the "Fake Moon" (containing "Bluetha", which simulates the moon's light)and turns into an Oozaru (Were-Monkey) to kill Gokou. Gokou gets beat up and Gohan and Kuririn stall Gokou's death for a while. Right then, when it all seems hopeless, Yajirobi cuts off Vegeta's tail (the source of his power)! Vegeta, angrier than ever, knocks out Gohan and Kuririn easily, Gokou gets up and starts to make a Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb). Gokou gets too weak to throw it at Vegeta and hands the energy to Kuririn. Gohan gets back up and faces off against Vegeta, Kuririn waits until the right moment (thanks to Kaioh-sama) and throws the Genki Dama at Vegeta and misses, Gohan then bounces it back and it connects. Vegeta gets up injured and bleeding and is really mad this time! He beats up Gohan really quick and turns to the man who systematically cost him the fight: Yajirobi, and proceeds in kicking his patootie. Just then, Vegeta notices that Gohan's tail will allow him to go Oozaru when he wakes up and decides to rip it out. Yajirobi stalls Vegeta and Gohan goes Oozaru, rapaging at Vegeta. Vegeta gets beat up and eventually cuts off Gohan's tail. Vegeta, almost dead, crawls to his space pod until Kuririn picks up Yajirobi's sword and is about to kill Vegeta. Gokou, also on the brink of death and soft-hearted still more, tells him to show sympathy. Kuririn lets Vegeta go and, after a threat of a returned visit, goes to planet "Freeza" to heal.
