Videl tricks Gohan into going to a tournament called the Tenkaichi Budokai by blackmail of the Saiya-man's identity and forces him to teach her to fly. Gokou is granted life for one full day by Enma Daiou (King Yama) and all Gohan's friends enter the tournament with him. It finally gets down to the finalists and Gokou, Vegeta, Kuririn, Android 18, Gohan, Mighty Mask (which is actually Trunks and Goten in disguise) and other people are competing. Vegeta finally gets his wish to fight Gokou in a one-on-one battle! Piccolo is going about the halls and notices that Kaioh-shin (the protector of a galaxy, Kami has only a planet so, you can assume that's a very high rank) himself is at the tournament! Videl utterly gets the crap kicked out of her by a mysterious person named Supopo-bitchi. Supopo-bitchi has a crooked "M" on his forehead, along with his buddy Yam. The Z gang senses something strange in these two. Kibit (Kaioh-shin's sidekick) squares off against Gohan but immediately before the match starts, Yam and Supopo-bitchi steal his energy! They fly off and Kibit restores Gohan's strength. Kaioh-shin seems to be upset! He then explains the story of Majin Buu...Yam and Supopo-bitchi stole Gohan's energy to awaken Buu, the most destructive being in the universe!

Majin Buu was created by Bibidi to help him conquer the universe, Buu was completely under his control at the time. Whoever Bibidi controls with his mind power becomes a "Majin" (thus explaining Supopo-bitchi and Yam's "M'). Buu went to the Kaioh-shin's planet and killed two of the four (North, South, East & West) Kaioh-shins, devoured the Southern Kaioh-shin (the Southern Kaioh-shin was a mean one so, that made Buu very evil) and sucked up Dai Kaioh-shin (the highest rank ever, he rules the whole universe!). Kaioh-shin (this one) barely escaped alive but, not before the Kaioh-shins sealed up Buu in a huge egg. Bibidi was killed in that affair. The thing is: Bibidi had a son named Bibidi Jr. (or just Bibidi)! Now Bibidi wants revenge on the last Kaioh-shin for killing his father! Once Buu is released, the world is in deep trouble! The Z gang, Kaioh-shin and Kibit fly to Bibidi's ship. It is there that Yam hands over Gohan's energy to him and Bibidi kills both Supopo-bitchi and Yam. We are also introduced to a new enemy: Dabura. Dabura is a very powerful demon lord who got taken over by Bibidi's mind tricks. Bibidi locates the Z crew and Dabura spits on Kuririn and Piccolo, turning them to stone and kills Kibit. Bibidi tells Dabura to lead them into his ship, as he wants to fool them to get their energy. (Just Gohan's energy was not enough to awaken Buu.)

After the rest of the Z gang turn around to warn the others, Gokou, Gohan and Vegeta go inside the ship. Inside, Bibidi can transform his ship into any planet in the universe. He sends his poor sap of a henchman after the Saiya-jins but Vegeta easily kills him. Kaioh-shin is surprised that he has been surpassed by Earthlings, I mean, the Saiya-jins are taking turns fighting instead of all at once! Next, Gokou fights an ugly monster taken over by Bibidi but he defeats the thing effortlessly! Finally, Bibidi sends out Dabura to finish the job and it's Gohan's turn to fight. Gohan is going steadily but Dabura is winning! What's this? Gohan goes SSJ2 and Dabura is no match for him! Just then, Bibidi does a desperate thing...takes over Vegeta's mind! Vegeta turns into a Majin and this allows him to pass his previous limits in power! Bibidi's plan? Every time Majin Vegeta hits Gokou, Gokou's lost energy is given to Buu to wake him up! Dabura flees and Majin Vegeta and Gokou (a.k.a. "Kakarrot") take their fight outside. Meanwhile, Kaioh-shin and Gohan try to stop Buu from being awakened. Vegeta confesses to Gokou that he allowed himself to be possessed because he wanted to finally beat Son in a fair duel. He knew he was no match for Gokou on his own. Buu finally gets enough power from Gokou to be released. Gohan sees this and shoots a Ki blast at the egg and...nothing happens!

The egg opens up and Buu is released but...what's this? Noone came out! To Bibidi's disappointment, that blast killed Buu and the world is saved! That is, until they find out Buu is hiding in the clouds above them! Buu comes down and...hmm...he's a fat, chubby guy? Everyone is sceptical until Buu unleashes his power! He kills Dabura for calling him a name and, after Bibidi tricks him to follow his orders (by threatening to seal him back up), the fat Buu beats up Gohan and Kaioh-shin without trouble! Meanwhile, Vegeta turns good once he realizes what he's done and asks Gokou for a Senzu bean. Gokou okays it and Vegeta clubs him in the back, knocking him out! Vegeta eats the Senzu and apologizes for what he's done...very odd. Just then, Majin Buu senses something and blows up Bibidi's ship! Vegeta appears from the dust and he thinks Buu killed Gohan (he thought he was still in the ship). After a short battle, Vegeta realizes that if you burn Buu up, he just regenerates but, if you blow up him all at once, he can't come back!

Before hand, Android 18 threw the match for money to Mr. Satan. Trunks and Goten were revealed and travelled to where Buu was. (Trunks accidentally knocked over the Piccolo statue.) Later, when Dabura died, Kuririn and Piccolo went back to normal...Piccolo regenerated himself. Chibi Trunks and Goten reach Vegeta and for the first time in years, Vegeta hugs Trunks! He knocks both of them out and Piccolo takes them home so Vegeta can do a self-destruct move against Buu! It works! Buu is destroyed and, as Piccolo walks through the crater with Buu's pieces scattered all over, it seems that way until the pieces form together and Buu is remade! Piccolo runs off while Bibidi and Buu search for Trunks, Goten and Piccolo.

Buu turns whole cities into candy at Bibidi's order and Gokou comes up with his plan. Do a fusion! They realize that the only chance they have are Goten and Trunks' fusion. They have to let all these innocent people die to buy time (they can be wished back with the DBs). Gokou meets Buu for the first time and shows the world Super Saiya-jin Level 3! Gokou also promises that an opponent strong enough to defeat Buu will show up in a couple of days (Gotenks). He gets to Kami's Lookout and teaches Goten and Trunks how to fuse but ends up leaving before he can finish. Piccolo finishes the training and Buu kills Bibidi! Mr. Satan and Buu make friends (along with a puppy). But, when the puppy is shot by a sniper, Buu gets so mad that he splits into two Buu's (a good, fat one and an evil, skinny one)! Since most of the power went to the evil Buu, Fat Buu is devoured! Buu transforms into Super Buu as a result of this. He teleports to Kami's Lookout and surprises the gang. Gohan, on the other hand, is tranported to the Kaioh-shin planet and trains with the Zed Sword. Gokou goes to Gohan and helps train him but the Zed Sword breaks! An old Kaioh-shin from generations ago appears! He performs a mystical art to enhance Gohan's power (it takes hours to do). The old Kaioh-shin explains that when Buu devoured the mean, Southern Kaioh-shin, Buu became evil (as said above). Afterwards, Buu devoured Dai Kaioh-shin, who was fat and happy...that creates Fat Buu! (It's all making sense now!) So, when the evil and Fat Buu combine, that creates Super Buu! Super Buu rushes Trunks and Goten, then Gotenks and Buu fight in the Room of Spirit & Time so, if Buu wins, he can't get back to their dimension.

And so, the silliest battle takes place! After Piccolo destroys the exit and gives away the Z gang's plan, Buu screams, causing a hole in the dimensional portal in which he can get out! The now SSJ3 Gotenks does the same and both Piccolo and Gotenks get out. Gohan goes to Earth right before Gotenks is defeated and battles him...he's winning! Super Buu then devours Gotenks and Piccolo to become Majin Buupinks! Gohan doesn't stand a chance now! The old Kaioh-shin gives Gokou his life and the Pottara Earrings to fuse with so he can fuse with Gohan. Gokou teleports there but Gohan is devoured (changing him into Buupanks)! Just then, Uranai Baba transports Vegeta to Earth (even though he's dead)! Gokou and Vegeta fuse into Vegetto. Vegetto doesn't even have to try to beat up Majin Buupanks! (He also kicks his butt as the World's Strongest Caramel Candy!)

Vegetto then purposely gets devoured but, he puts up a barrier so he's not absorbed. Gokou and Vegeta separate and free Fat Buu! Then, they escape Buu's body with all their friends! As Dende and Satan watch the motionless Buu, he slowly slopes in pain and spits out Fat Buu! Now Buu transforms into Chibi Buu (who is pure evil) because Fat Buu is out of his body! Gokou teleports all of his friends (the one's that weren't eaten) including Dende, Mr. Satan and Fat Buu to Kaioh-shin's planet. But, Chibi Buu also teleports to Kaioh-shin's planet (but not before destroying Earth)! Buu fights SSJ3 Gokou and they're equal. Vegeta admits that Gokou is the best and finally figures out why Kakarrot was always stronger than he. Once Buu gains the upper hand, Vegeta tells Gokou to do a huge Genki Dama (Spirit Bomb)...it's the only way! So, Vegeta tells Dende to go to Namek and wish the Earth and all its inhabitants back to life. It works and Vegeta speaks to everyone simultaneously through Kaioh-sama (King Kai) and tells everyone on Earth to raise their hands in the air for support... Since noone really knows Vegeta, noone raised their hands to help them. So, finally Mr. Satan does something about it. He tells everyone to raise their hands and, since everyone *loves* Mr. Satan, they all did! Vegeta, Fat Buu and even Satan himself stall Buu long enough to create a Chou Genki Dama (Ultimate Spirit Bomb)! Gokou fires but Chibi Buu overpowers it because Gokou has no strength left! He can't be stopped! So, having one wish left, Dende tells Porunga (the Namekian Dragon) to restore Gokou's strength to the max. Son Gokou's then heaves the huge Genki Dama with all his might down on top of Buu and ultimately vaporizes him! Majin Buu is dead forever! (With the exception of the good-natured Fat Buu.)

Ten years later, the Z gang finally meets up again (including Mr. Satan). They all go to the Tenkaichi Budokai together. Gohan and Videl's daughter, Pan, faces a huge guy and defeats him easily. Vegeta wins his fight before it even starts and Gokou sqaures off against a poor boy named Ubuu (thanks to Fat Buu's mental powers). It seems that when Gokou wished for Buu to be reincarnated as a good guy at his demise, it worked! Ubuu and Gokou fight and, although provoked, Gokou overcomes the little guy (he put up a good fight, though).

So, Son Gokou goes on a new adventure: to train Ubuu at the child's house.
Gokou flies off with Ubuu on his back as the greatest anime series of all time comes to an end...
