Vegeta is the first of the opposing side to reach Namek, followed by Freeza and his men. Vegeta still wants to gain immortality but with a twist: overpower Freeza for the cruelty he has caused him over the years. Gokou heads off to Namek as Vegeta fights Freeza's men. After defeating all of the evil henchmen, Vegeta follows Kuririn, trying to gain possession of all the DragonBalls. Gohan finds Vegeta's 6th DB in the lake and when Vegeta returns, his dreams of immortality are gone. Enraged, Vegeta meets up with Kuririn and Gohan on their way to Guru (or Namek father) to awaken the sleeping powers within Gohan (Kuririn already has his abilities). Vegeta teams up with Gohan and Kuririn after sensing the Ginyu Force. The Ginyu Squad stops them, and the battle begins. Vegeta kills Guldo after Kuririn and Gohan struggle. Reccoome beats up Vegeta without effort (although some defense involved) after a small fight. Reccoome beats up Kuririn and Gohan too. (Kuririn once again pulls that, "I've been kicked! I CAN'T FIGHT" thing.) Then Gokou comes and beats up Reccoome with one punch. Jeice and Burter try to take him on but fail. Vegeta kills the downed Reccoome and Burter while Jeice goes off to get Captain Ginyu.

Freeza flies to Guru's house and takes on Nail to find the password. Ginyu takes on Gokou while Kuririn and Gohan locate the DragonBalls. After a bit in Ginyu's body, Gokou and the others overcome Ginyu and take Gokou to a rejuvenation tank to heal. Vegeta takes a nap and Kuririn, Gohan and Dende meet up. The password is revealed and Gohan and Kuririn wish Piccolo back, Piccolo lands and finds Nail. Piccolo then fuses with Nail to become a very powerful being. Freeza lands right after the dragon disappears and is mad! Vegeta faces off with Freeza and forces him to transform into "Form 2". Being stronger than before, Freeza defeats Vegeta and moves on to Kuririn and Gohan. Easily knocking them away, Dende comes and heals them with his new powers given to him by Guru. Piccolo, fused with Nail, is forced to stop the barbarian warrior. The fused Nameks overpower Freeza and force him, yet again, to transform. In Form 3, Freeza is much to powerful than Piccolo and Nail. Gokou gets healed and arrives just in time to stop Freeza. Freeza then kills Kuririn and pisses off Gokou, allowing him to transform into a Super Saiya-jin! The almighty Saiya-jin defeats Freeza after a very long battle but...where is Gokou when Namek explodes?

Having rid the universe of Freeza for now, Gokou goes to the planet Yardrat to learn how to teleport. (Courtesy of Ginyu's spacepod.) Back on Earth, the Z warriors wish back their lost friends. Meanwhile, Freeza's father, King Cold, finds out what happened to his son and collects his pieces throughout space. Then, he brings Freeza back to life and Freeza-Bot tells his father about Gokou and the Saiya-jins but his father doubts him. So, wanting proof, King Cold, Freeza-Bot and his crew come to Earth for revenge, right when they arrive, an unknown teenaged Super Saiya-jin named [Future] Trunks comes and easily kills Freeza-Bot and his foolish father with one blast. Trunks explains that his mission is to save Gokou from dying to save the future from the mysterious androids. Everyone in the future dies except Trunks and Gohan. Gohan teaches Trunks to control his power and then Gohan dies. So, to prevent this from happening in the present, Trunks came the our time. Trunks arrived in the present time with a Capsule Corp. Time Machine, or Hope, as it's called (made by Bulma, his mother). Trunks gives Gokou the medicine for his heart and tells the Z warriors when to meet next.
