Three Editorials in One

So, here I am, approximately two full years since being overwhelmed by the evil state of mind known as depression. As some of you know (the more personal of my followers), I am a manic depressive person, who can often be called bi-polar as well. My interests constantly change, and my love for human culture and society is pretty much dwindling by the day. I'll put this as easily as I can right now to prevent further confusion: I HATE MANKIND!

Topic 1: An Evaluation of the Human Psyche
That's basically the entire purpose of this editorial, along with some random thoughts. It may not be pretty, but the truth is never pretty. However, not simply to rant about how much I despise the human society, I shall be dwelling into the topic of the human psyche. Why do such? I've been into the work of Edgar Allan Poe recently, and although his literary accomplishments are quite astounding, they have a tendency to bring out negative aspects of people and things. So, there's your reason.

There's a particular story of Poe that I was quite enthralled with entitled the "Purloined Letter," starring the infamous Monsieur Dupin, the original Sherlock Holmes. In this tale, a person of high stature is victim to a public theft of a valuable letter. Now, you might think that the plot is rather thin... correct. This story's pros do not lie in its narrative, but in its structure. Upon tricking the Prefect of the Parisian police into paying him for the letter, Dupin explains his process of thinking. Here, you learn that the simplicity of its hiding is what made the letter undetectable to prying eyes. The Prefect had looked thoroughly through all belongings of the felon to no avail. Dupin, however, simply found the letter in the most convenient and obvious spot, quickly returned it, and proceeded to wrap up the tale with ease. Greed guided these intentions for both men, however, and both wanted money for themselves.

Realistically, we could replace these present emotions with the "Human Mind's Three Follies," as I have titled them. Track of thinking = PREDICTION. Greed = DOMINATION. Desired result = SELFISHNESS.

The Human Mind ALWAYS tries to predict others' way of thinking. The Human Mind ALWAYS tries to be dominate his environment. The Human Mind is ALWAYS selfish, destroying that of God, and replacing it with his own possessions. From this spawns Topic 2. Proceed if you wish, as I know I am crossing thin ice with this one...

Topic 2: Religious Views
As is linked to my Follies, why did God enable us such thinking? Why did He GIVE us this power? After all, isn't it He who is as a deficit from this? As some of you know (again, the more personal followers), I am not actively religious, but I'm certainly not Atheist. To describe my relation and nature of thinking regarding God is not necessarily part of such an editorial, but I figure I can stuff it all in and really flow with this topic in such a case.

I strongly disagree with God creating all existing things in Nature. Modern science can prove this wrong with relatively high accuracy. Isn't the purpose of technology to correct previous faults in all forms? I believe it has served its purpose in this respect. Now, feel free to send me your thoughts/opinions (Ritick86@yahoo.com) on the matter, however, this will not change my views in the least. A simple open forum can be found easily over the internet, and I don't wish to burden my mailbox heavily over the subject. One of my pleasures in the anime world goes by the name of "Neon Genesis Evangelion." Rest assured, it really does make you think. Maybe one of these days I'll dedicate a site to it (as I know Toji has) and explain its secrets and religious symbolism in full detail, but that's for another day. Just to tide you over, all things in that series DOES have a hidden meaning (EAT THAT, SOMERANDOMGUY!) that, while it is not necessarily there to further the series's plot, or to even say something about religion, it has a meaning nonetheless. All things exist for a single purpose. What is this purpose? This is called Life.

This religious topic is a beauty of a conversational piece for any party, I might add. All people have different views of it, in all different aspects, and it's quite a joy (if you're into this type of stuff) to devote some time to studying not only the People's Religion, but its meaning in Evangelion (as dumb as it might sound, it has been done before). Just a miscellaneous comment before I wrap up this topic: YOU RELIGIOUS PEOPLE TAKE THINGS FAR TOO SERIOUSLY! LIGHTEN UP! I believe God's wish is for his Creation to ENJOY their lives by living a moral, and beneficial life; not to preach all day and have no time for yourself. If God, or his incarnate, wanted such, he wouldn't have given us Nature, Mother Earth, or all its beauty.

Topic 3: Why Idiots Rule the World
Not to toot my own horn or anything, but the sole reason I am depressed is because I am simply smarter than the average person when it comes to mental capabilities. I see the world realistically; I see the TRUTH. I realize that world, people, and circumstance is usually not just. Nature is constantly getting short-changed in our society. We tear up its land, use its resources, and melt its icecaps. Name one thing that we do to give back its property? Absolutely nothing. People are hypocrisized by their own species and creed. "He's different, let's all mock him!" Idiocy. In addition, the morons of the world kill off the smart people, and as soon as you know it, our government is overrun with these idiots and their kin. Beautiful. Circumstance is always negative. With a world as troubled as ours, run by a species consisting of morons, how can it possibly be different?

Maybe it's just my pessimism talking but, we all need to look in the mirror and realize how truly blessed we are. I could honestly care less what people think of me, but when you disrespect each other, that's just stupid. Man is looking for war, begging for it. Logical people realize such and prevent it. Just how many shots can they take protecting the idiots who murder themselves? Our society is going downhill, and it's gonna take a lot to get it back up. Maybe when more of the general population sees this, I won't be so down in the dumps, huh? For now, I suppose, the Prozac will have to work its magic...
