Earth's Ultimate, Decisive Battle (Tree of Might)Synopsis: A droid lands on Earth and sparks a fire in the forest where Bulma, Kuririn and Gohan just happen to be camping at (coincidence, I think not). Kuririn and Gohan stop the fire from spreading any further and call the Shenlong to repair the damage done to the forest. The droid, hooked up to a camera, allows a bunch of soldiers to scour throughout the area. It is here that we first see Turles, a Saiya-jin that looks almost identical to Gokou! Turles henchmen plant the Tree of Might which sucks out all the living energy from a planet. So, while Yamcha grieves at Gokou's house with the Z Crew about his lost space cruiser, they recieve a message from Kaioh-sama! Kaioh-sama warns the Z Crew of the danger to come from the Tree of Might and they go off to stop it! At first, none of their powers will even stratch the already-powerful tree. Suddenly, Turles' men arrive! Then Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chaou-zu and Kuririn square off against Turles' henchmen while Gokou investigates further. Gohan comes to save the day but is knocked aside. Piccolo comes and saves him (as usual)! Then, together, the Z Crew is defeated. Gokou beats up Turles henchmen effortlessly but when Turles appears, Gokou is down. Once, the power is matched with the Kaio Ken technique, Turles decides to even the score...he eats the fruit of the Tree of Might! Turles then batters Gokou down again. Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Yamcha, Kuririn and Chaou-zu get back up and stall Turles while Gokou builds up the Genki Dama. Since Earth's life force is almost already gone because of the Tree of Might, not enough is available. Turles beats up the Z Crew single-handedly and overpowers the Genki Dama! Gokou, almost dead, hears the cries of his fellow warriors and, after hearing his own son, gets up for one last bout! Gokou recieves energy from the final piece of fruit from the Tree of Might and uses that to his advantage. A Genki Dama is formed like no other, containing all of the power the Tree of Might beared! Turles doesn't pay attention to this and at his last moment, notices that Gokou is up. Turles has no defense from the immensely powerful Genki Dama and dies from the shock. My Opinion: I enjoyed this movie, it has the right elements of action and suspense. Everything audio-wise is perfect and the animation is superb! The plot is very good and I actually thought that something different was gonna happen after Gokou's first Genki Dama was smashed but NOOOO!!! :P Gokou always does that! Anyway, the fight sequences are AWESOME! I especially like the one with the Z Crew vs. Turles' henchmen, I mean, it switches off battles seamlessly! This movie is my personal favorite of the early ones and, if you want an English dubbed one, this is the one to get! The Turles/Gokou look-alike thing is rather disturbing though and it should of been dropped...that's the only flaw!
