Character Profiles-9

Welcome to the Character Profiles! A list of characters is below.

Radditz
(Raditzu)
Well, needless to say, this guy's the first character you actually get to see in the English dub (in the Japanese version, it's Gohan and his remarkable tail :P) so, I'm gonna explain a little bit, including the whole, big timeline goof-up by our favorite company, FUNimation. Okay, first I'd like to say something, I really did like Radditz's voice in the English version, it was very well done! I wish they would have carried that guy over to more personas like the overworked Chris Sabat (who does Yamcha, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kaioh-sama and many more all at once). But, alas, it was not meant to be, for this is Season 1's doing. Okay, here's what you're waiting for... Radditz is Gokou's brother, and after many, many years of being kept in Frieza's keen eye, the 3 Saiya-jin, Nappa, Vegeta, and Radditz leave to wander far away. So, Radditz, being as sinful as ever, decides to pay his younger brother a visit on Earth. He explains the story of the Saiya-jin (which we all know and love) and kidnaps Son Gohan. Piccolo joins forces with Gokou and Radditz is eventually killed by the Makankosouppo (which we also love like a mother). Here's the dumb part, FUNimation contradicts themselves, as we all know but this is by far the funniest. Radditz says that Planet Vegeta blew up THREE YEARS AGO!!! Let's think about this... if it blew up three years ago, why were you enslaved by Frieza for so many years after the Saiya-jin race was killed? That's very peculiar indeed. Anywho, in my opinion, Radditz is the very heart and soul of the DBZ series; I mean let's face it, he's the first to shoot Ki, the first to show that without a shadow of a doubt, this is the sequel to DragonBall and he is the one that finally explains the mystery of Son Gokou's powers after...4 YEARS! I know that would leave me stumped, I might even kill myself from the confusion. His attacks include Kikou Ha (he can do it two at a time! >_<), Bakujutsu, other assorted Ki attacks, tail-whipping and lots of physical attacks.

The Elder Namek (Guru)
(Saichoro)
(Cue crappy dubbing, somewhat similar to the old Godzilla movies.) AAAHH!! A big, fat, ugly Namekian! Yes, that's Saichoro for you. He is the father of all Namekians and his 7 gigantic balls (that sounds wrong in more ways than one). While he does sit in his enormous chair the whole time, if he dies, the DragonBalls go with him. Basically, the whole Namek Saga is a race against the clock before he dies in other words. He's pretty important though, he tells Kaioh-sama the DB's limits in his time of need, sends Nail off to fight Frieza, powers-up Gohan and Kuririn, gives Kuririn the last DB, and passes on his title to someone else when he finally dies. Er..actually, that's all I can think of! So this profile is done! Horaay! ^^

Muten Roshi
(Kame-sennin)
A kooky old man who's only joy in life is looking at nasty magazines...not exactly the master of martial arts you thought he'd be, right? In truth, the Roshi in DragonBall is much more exciting than the washed-up one in DBZ. Roshi trains Gokou and Kuririn, giving Gokou his magical cloud (Kintoun), originates the Kamehameha Wave and more. The former style is the one of DBZ's Kame-sennin. Heck, there's so much to say about this guy but there's not really a way to put it, with all of the stuff he does. My favorite days of Muten Roshi's are those in the 21st and 22nd Tenkaichi Budokais. In these tournaments, he made an alter-ego for himself (called "Jackie Chun") to force his students (Kuririn and Gokou) into giving him their full-force. His attacks as Jackie Chun included some of the stupidest ideas ever in this series, even down to Gotenks' level (the Kami-kazi Ghosts come to mind). After the old power-hungry days of DB, however, Kame-sennin simply worries about his long-time friends and sits in his lawn chair looking at pornographic magazines, occasionally making an important wish from Shenlong. He has to be seen in DB to totally get his personality, that means you, you dubbies! His attacks include many hypnotizing chants, the Kamehameha, a nifty power-up where his muscles become huge, the famous Jackie Chun "Drunken Fist" stance and punch, and many more!

Vegetto
(Vegitto)
One of my favorite good guys! The Fusion of Gokou and Vegeta by the Potarra Earrings, this guy is very cool, cocky and powerful. His attitude is somewhat that of Vegeta's, with more of Gokou's physical powers. His clothes are blue on orange along with his spiffy earrings. He beats Buu using only his legs (a very cool scene) and even whips his butt as a caramel candy! (HILARIOUS! YOU MUST SEE THIS!) When Gokou meets up with the newly-revived Vegeta, they fuse immediately and, after handily beating Buu senseless, allow themselves to get eaten by Buu in order to free their friends. You must also note that right when Vegeta is revived by Uranai Baba, he changes a lot during this time. The Buu Saga has it's effect on the Saiya-jin Prince. He blew himself up in sacrifice for the Earth, lets Gokou fuse with him (after a short speach), tries his best to kill Buu and then talks to Kaioh-sama for help with the Super Genki Dama and even goes as far as to realize and admit in his mind that "he never stood a chance against Buu, all these years Kakarrot has always been stronger than me and now I realize why. You truly are Earth's #1 fighter, Gokou!" So, relevant to this situation, Vegeta changes his attitude back in Vegetto form because he knows that, with Gokou's power, Buu is no match for their combined strength. Once they sacrifice their lives again, his true emotions about his own, personal power come into question and all the feelings flow. (Does that sound corny, or what? -_-) This is another one of those scene that sticks out in my mind when skimming through the DBZ series: Vegetto's battle with Buu and Vegeta's final confession, they are both real important to the plot at the end of the series. Enough of my rambling, Vegetto's attacks are Super Saiya-jin (we never see his true level of power, mind you), Ki no Tsurugi, Big Bang Kamehameha, Bakujutsu and more.

Fusions
This is the fused form of Gokou and Vegeta.
