Chapter Seventeen
I pulled up to Nick’s house and turned my car off as quickly as possible. I didn’t want him to know I was there.
I walked into his house. I was glad he had given me a key. I could hear the water running. He must be in the shower.
I ran up to his bedroom after putting my purse on his couch. I stripped to my birthday suit and put my clothes where he wouldn’t see them. The water turned off, so I jumped into his bed.
The look on Nick’s face was priceless when he walked into his room wearing only a towel.
“What? Why? How?” I laughed.
“Nickyboy, are you going to ask questions or are you going to join me?” The smile spread across his face, and he practically ran and dove onto the bed.
“Mmm…we can lose this.” I pulled the towel from his waist. He nibbled hungrily at my neck.
“Woah. Calm down, Tiger. We have all night.”
He grinned evilly, “Tiger?”
“Well, the way you were gnawing at my neck.” I smiled at him.
“Gnawing like a tiger. Now we can fuck like rabbits.”
“Oh, Nick. You’re such a romantic.” He laughed and kissed me like never before.
“Damn, Nick.”
“There’s plenty more where that came from.”
Nick continued to make love to me for hours. It was wonderful, but sometimes it seemed as though it was all a routine. Almost as though neither of us cared. We hadn’t been the same lately. I was afraid to talk to him about it though. As much as I loved him, I didn’t know if we should be together any more, and it frightened me.

“Hey, Kev. What did you need to talk to me about?”
“Hi, Nikki.” He gave me a big hug. “Are you ok? You seem different lately. I just want to make sure everything is ok.”
I was really surprised. Kevin and I got along but barely. Our personalities were almost identical which usually caused arguments, but we always end them amicably.
“Well, I don’t know. I guess I’m ok. Why do you ask?”
“You seemed upset.”
“I guess…I…” There was something about the concern in his eyes that made me lose it. “Kevin, I don’t know if I love Nick anymore.” I broke down crying.
He pulled me into his arms. He rubbed my back while rocking me.
“It’s ok, honey. You can’t make yourself love him if you don’t. Maybe you two weren’t meant to be.”
